One thing that’s worth pointing out is that even if you do lose all of your keys, you still won’t lose access to your account if you still have a trusted device, since you can buy new keys and use the trusted device to add them, or you can delete all the keys and revert to security codes. One question I can’t find the answer to is whether watchOS 9.3 will let you delete keys in the Password & Security section of Settings. If it does let you delete them, then even if you lose your keys and your only remaining trusted device is your Apple Watch, you still won’t get locked out.
Jeff’s videos are not popping up on my feed automatically. Drives me nuts. Anyway, glad I can still find them. Hope you’re able gain more traction and keep this going Jeff. Always a wealth of info.
Very informative. Thank you. One thing I'm a bit worried about, and which wasn't touched in this video, nor does it seem to be talked about anywhere, is what happens if the security key gets stolen. Obviously, the key is useless without your password, but what if the thief taps "forgot password" and uses the key as proof of identity to have it reset? Is this possible? If you pretend to have forgotten your iCloud password and try to reset it, will the phone ask you to tap the security key? Or will it ignore the key and revert to the good old six-digit code sent to your other devices?
This is the best Security 🔑 with i☁️ tutorial video I have seen, as the scene cutout in yours is very minimal 🤗🤗😮💨 ands yes i’ve seen alot of thems as i too am pondering of doing the sames you dids.. Liked and subscribeds 👍
I noticed you still have a "trusted phone number" listed there. Shouldn't you remove it as it bypass the security keys as another mean of getting the 2FA codes ... or am i wrong in assuming this?
I haven't seen this specified anywhere, but I assume it's FIDO U2F that's used for this purpose, right? I mean, if you have a security key that's compatible with several different protocols, like the Yubikey 5-series, then you must configure it to use U2F when tapped. Am I right?
Thank you Jeff for explaining the security key feature. I wish more ppl would support your channel bc your truly a gift to the Apple Community.

This is exactly the type of video I only expected Jeff to post.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks for stopping by!
Out of every channel I’ve watched about theses features you’re the only one to explain it very well. Thank you.
My question is when you lose your iPhone can it be logged out when you have those keys enabled
Very informative. Thank you.

Does implementing Yubikey on the iPhone replace Face ID to unlock my iPhone?

Thanks for the nice concise demonstration of these new features.
Just realised you had your own page! Miss your vids on 9-5 mac
I just got an iPhone, however I've noticed on my old Samsung the security key never worked and still doesn't, always had to use back up codes

Only an hour after upload and it’s already in HDR! I don’t recall RUclips processing it that fast!
I wish this was true. It’s been processing for 18 hours and just now available in HDR.
@@JeffBenjam Oh dang! I thought it was too good to be true!
Football. It’s football.
