I love how 'Looking Up at the Sky' starts out as a melancholic overworld theme in SC used to convey Estelle's longing for Joshua as she runs all over Liberl looking for him and thwarting Ouroboros's plans in the process. Yet, the very last time it's played for the 3rd's conclusion, it represents a similar feeling, but through a different perspective: Joshua's. This becomes especially clear when you take a look at the lyrics we're provided, which detail EXACTLY how Estelle and Joshua's reunion in SC transpired to a T, except from HIS point of view; conveying Joshua's inner-turmoil and his eventual acceptance of his feelings for Estelle, in spite of the cold facade he imposed on himself for the better part of SC's story. Realizing that these feelings weren't one-sided, but mutual, was such a cathartic moment in SC; something that I'm not afraid to admit I cried rivers of tears to. The way this song compliments the original rendition in SC, as well as how it rounds off the Sky trilogy by encapsulating its themes of love and everlasting bonds, is why this is, and will probably always be my favorite ending song in all of the Trails series (though I've yet to play past Sky the 3rd, so who knows?).
@@theozziepotato No one's ignoring anything... These lyrics, and by extension, this song, is CLEARLY about Estelle and Joshua's scene on the Gull Seaside Way (specifically from Joshua's perspective). If it wasn't any more obvious by the fact that the lyrics explicitly mention "sea waves" and "soft lips" touching, just like how Estelle and Joshua had their first kiss on the beach of Gull Seaside Way. Or about how it focuses on Estelle's "gentle heartbeats from my back", which directly captures what I imagine Joshua must've felt when Estelle walked up to him and held him from behind. And also how Joshua's tears couldn't stop flowing afterwards. NOTHING in this song has to do with Kevin whatsoever, bro...
Lyrics: As the blue sky was melting into the setting sun, I was gazing at the dyed clouds with you. What kind of words should I have used in order to be able to convey my feelings? Your gentle heartbeats from my back grow stronger and stronger, as time ticks by. Now looking up at the sky, I feel that I want to protect you. In order to preserve your smile, I want to live on. The sea waves' lullaby carried by the wind swayed your hair, giving off your scent. Our soft lips, as they touch, softly said "I love you." Your warmth that envelopes my back will open up the locked door. Now looking up at the sky, I can't stop my tears from flowing. Why does my chest ache so, if it's already filled with love? The finger tracing my tear stains is connecting the two trails. Under this sky, if I can weave a dream with you, I won't have any more fear, because I will have learned what love is. Now looking up at the sky, I feel that I want to protect you. In order to preserve your smile, Let us live on.

You parted with no one since literally most of the Sky cast returned for Cold Steel 3 and 4, same for the Zero/Ao cast. Which yes, means that Joshua and Estelle hold the record for the most games as playable characters (they show up in six games in total and I'm positive they are playable in five of them).
