The Mies Van Der Rohe Building is based on a 1952 architectural design by internationally-renowned modernist architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe of a proposed IU Bloomington campus building for the Alpha Theta Chapter of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity, never ultimately constructed.
This video was created to accompany the "Mies in Indiana" exhibit at the Grunwald Gallery, sharing the story of the architect's history in the state. Jacobs School of Music cellist Eunice Kim performs J.S. Bach's "Cello Suite No. 3, Prelude," a piece performed at Mies' memorial service in 1969.
