Jazz pianist Mickey Tucker wrote a Negro spiritual-inspired symphony in 1978 that
was never performed. Nearly 45 years later, the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra will premiere the
piece Oct. 23 in Bloomington, Indiana. And the IU Archives of African American Music and Culture
helped make it happen.

Sounds wonderful and I can't wait to hear it! If I lived Stateside I'd make the detour to Bloomington, but France is a bit too out of the way.
I hope this is being recorded for those of us not in the Bloomington area.
Absolutely! This concert will be recorded in full and play as the climax of the finale episode of the AAAMC documentary series “AAAMC Speaks” ! You can check out the other episodes on our channel.
