When you consider that Bruno's vision was two sided, that she could have brought the family together, or broken it apart.... it REALLY fits.
But even in canon it did kinda happen didn't it? Just like his vision said the casita broke and it was fixed again, sure it wasn't exactly Mirabels fault the casita broke, but it did happen. Either way I'm such a sucker for good turned evil like this. They always hit hard. Like the goodest of the characters that you know turn rightfully evil-

Especially with that moment early on where Maribel crushes the butterfly. It was the symbol for how the vision could be changed for good, and she's rejecting that

It's chilling to think that Mirabel was basically one single bad day away from becoming the villain. After all, she had every right to be with the treatment she received for 10 years being ignored and mistreated by her family. Shunned by the family and literally called "The nonspecial special" by the village, blamed for everything that goes wrong.
I feel we could've easily seen a very first Disney's Villainess arc.
I've always loved how this is played, which is why I love the Worm series by Wildbow (or accurately, the fanfiction of it). In that series, one bad day is how you get superpowers in the first place, and as a result there are a LOT more villains and self interested capes then there are heroes...with all that intales.
"Every right to be" might be a little bit too extreme, considering that the evil Mirabel basically killed her entire family
@@yay29823 I read that more as "She gleefully destroyed the house and left them with nothing" rather then outright murder, but meh. Also, she never said a bad word about her parents or Bruno himself, so probably they lived at least.

@@Osma777 There is no way she could make sure who would get out alive and who wouldn't, all she knew is that all of their lives were at stake and she left them anyways knowing full well they could all die. Antonio and Alma are definitely dead, I'm sure.
this Alternate storyline is just....believable.
for me, with three changes in the movie, this couldve happened.
1.) when antonio reached out for mirabel to walk him to his door, someone else stops her, maybe pepa or Isabella.
2.) after Isas proposal goes south, mirabel tries to apologize of her own accord but is shut down by isa with something on the lines of "just because you didnt get a gift you try to make everyone as miserable as you."
which leads to 3.) she finds Brunos hideout on her own but she doesnt find bruno. just his living space with multiple diaries describing how he lived in the walls for years and how every time someone was shut down trying to talk about him it really hurt. so he left.
God that’s such a cool outline !

From what I understand, Disney movies are meant to also have some hidden meaning about life, generally to breach throught it's hardship.
So as much as it sounds interesting for the hero to finally turn in a villain as their right is, it could lead to a negative meaning if not carefull. For example in this case, it would've been cool, but it would've led to the idea that it's not right to be forced to be "perfect", so you can destroy an entire House (and other).
But I won't complain if there WILL be a Disney movie (or movies) where the character has a Villain arc and Redemption arc

Do you know before this video I was already so tired of the ‘We don’t talk about Bruno’ original song, but after this version I can’t get it out of my head. It is so good! The lyrics, the small jabs at Dolores and her mother for their cowardice and silence, the one eye showing in her glasses, that chilling ending everything! Mirabel had every reason to become the villain and this is it. Lydia has done it again.
Actually it was her aunt Pepe not her mom, but yes I fully agree with this statement.

thats the thing i love about this. She's basically right. everything she said was true. its like, what if we don't talk about bruno came AFTER she learned the truth about him. and ofcourse the vocals and production value is amazing.
note each princess to villian song done by lydia has backstory in the description also most animatics are done in a half finished style from what i've seen it's what makes it a animatic instead of a animation
please look at the rest of her villain songs, they’re all amazing! my personal favourite is her rendition of ‘i won’t say i’m in love’ from hercules

When the scene at the lyrics of: Time to bring this family down, yeah I’m the villain in your fairytale now. You can see Julieta is about to faint because she suffering a broken heart because she wants to protect Isabela and lusia because they are her daughters but she can’t fight against Mirabel because Mirabel is her daughter as well

Lydia has done quite a few hero turn villain stories. Mirabel Mulan and Moana villain songs were my Favourite so far

Wow. That was best villain song (though Meg's comes a pretty close second). I just love picturing what the story would have been like if Mirabel truly did allow the darkness to consume her after dealing with generational trauma for years from her own family - as well as practically being neglected from the villagers. The darkness being her only true companion, and turned her into the one that destroyed the magic. Though I wish Mirabel told off all of her family members; saving her grandmother for last. If Disney actually did that, made the protagonist become the villain...that definitely would have been something different. I guess we'll just have to wait until FanScription comes up with one.
Merida's villian song is spectacular too.

Normally I’m not a fan of when a musical number has speaking lines that interrupt the flow like at 2:45, but I think this is a perfect example of how to do it right. It feels like Mirabel’s rage is breaking through her generally soft tone, as if she can barely hold back the anger.

fun fact, bruno would've been 35 when mirabel was born, and they both look very similar, plus the green glasses are a clear give away
There is a villian song for bruno made by another creator that you should also consider watching if you want to continue with Encanto. I would love for you to continue watching Lydia though, she has a few more villain songs of Disney princesses coming out in the next few weeks and even her covers that aren't related to that are fire
Awesome Video, She is really good!. Hopefully you React to some more of her stuff it's all really good. in the description of the video's there is usually a paragraph or two explaining the reason that the character flipped to the dark side.

There is a song from musiclide called Death's Doorstep (puss in boots song, but it's really good), and other good song with similar theme is from nerdout called Your Last Life
The Meg one is the best in my opinion. The art is amazing, and the lyrics are great.

What I love is that you notice some things with the family, when everyone else is sad and worried, the grandma is angry and shouting still, also I couldn't see the younger one with the powers to talk to animals or bruno anywhere, the two people that actually did try to treat Mirebel nicely.

Great reaction! :) I don't know if someone has said this already, but I warmly recommend you to check Lydia's take on Snow White's villain song as well. Every single cover of hers is wonderful, but I think that that one is the best so far. Don't want to spoil any more, but the concept is very creative and relatable for many, I believe.

I saw another song when I was watching Lydia's that is about if BRUNO became the villain everyone thinks he is, and it has Mirabel trying to convince him not to. "We Don't Talk About Bruno" BUT BRUNO IS THE VILLAIN (Encanto) by AuraNova (Ashley H).
