Wing Chun is a street style art and not made for a controlled arena. You can't force these differing styles into one style of fighting. Martial arts just don't work like that. MMA doesn't work on the street, just like Wing Chun won't work in a wrestling ring. Cheers!
@@southernknight9983 I feel what you're saying. I actually found some vids after I posted this that had MMA fighters fight Wing Chun masters. The MMA fighters destroyed the wing chun masters. Only time MMA guys struggled was against kicks and elbows. The typical lighting quick wing Chun jabs and combo punches were extremely ineffective (much to my disappointment) .. But like you said there might be no environment for that type of styles clash. Wing chun was designed to kill people (mostly local warlords and the Japanese 🤣). That's why I figured it might actually be a good matchup.
@@CorneliusPRhoades Like I said, wing chun is designed for the street, where weapons and multiple attackers come into play at any moment. MMA is designed for the ring, where you fight against only one attacker, that is guaranteed not to have a weapon on his person and no one else jumping in on the action. Lock a combat art or street fighter into an enclosed space, where he can't maneuver, shoot in and grapple him, they are out of their normal element, that their style is not designed for. In a real fight, you want to stay on your feet as much as possible. Somebody trying to rob you on the street, is not going to wrestle with you for your money and that is for obvious reasons. Many people just don't comprehend why these arts don't match up and think that only those that work in the ring, are the best and that just isn't so. And yea, a third of wing chun is illegal in the ring, cause you have eye jabs and throat punches and such, which is what those little jabs are actually for, at the higher levels. Finger strikes to the eyes and throat punches will end a fight instantly. I have seen it done, myself back in high school, where a guy was confronted aggressively and one throat punch and it was over. Wing chun has been my style ever since. Cheers!
@@southernknight9983 Just stumbled upon a video showing how Tony Ferguson uses wing chun inside the cage and during a fight. You must check it out, you might find it interesting. Should come up if you search Tony Ferguson and Wing Chun.

The BIG problem with traditional martial arts is this: all of them have been infected with the traditions of Zen Buddhism and the obsession with "cultivating peace" and "spiritual growth". While it's both noble and intelligent to avoid fighting and to seek diplomatic solutions to things, this has nothing to do with the science and art of fighting. Likewise, "spiritual growth" has nothing to do with fighting, and is 100% irrelevant. Imaging worshipping the extreme opposite of what you're supposed to do that you don't do what you're supposed to do at all no matter what. Traditional martial arts teaches people to become masters at "turning the other cheek" and not actually doing any fighting at all. I watched this interview with this Shorin-Ryu Grandmaster, and he said that you should never under any circumstance fight unless it is an absolute life-and-death situation. And, even then, you should wait, in his words: "Until the verge of death." What if you can't even fight back at that point due to serious injuries to your spine, liver and brain? What if the guy beating you is a bully that will now hurt even more people because you're too injured to fight him and now more people will be hurt by him when you could have stopped him? Traditional martial arts have nothing to do with fighting. It's mostly about religion.

Saying that Tai Chi is a martial art is like saying Yoga is a martial art.
@FranGuitarable exactly 🤣
Dude showed up to a fight in pink sneakers; enough said 👍😎💪
Tai Chi is not martial art. This man was somehow forced to be beaten here
He wasnt forced to be beaten what dafuq are talking about?? He was the one going around saying he could beat anyone in a fight and it didnt matter what martial arts they practiced but he soon got a wake up call but its people like you who spread nasty rumours about so do a bit of research next time you type BS..SMH

I believe you who said tai chi is not a martial arts it really for health and stress I think
you're a clown for believing the first comment😂 tai chi guy was the one who called out the mma fighter
It's like the "master" thought it was going to be slow motion like the movies where he'd see every move coming and instinctively block or parry.
Now that was sooo unpredicatable!
Tai Chi is more to condition the body. Not meant to fight with.
Like was anybody who watches the UFC even the slightest bit surprised by this outcome?
The CCP was. This happened a few years ago. They destroyed the mma fighter for making a fool out of a martial arts master. Who knows if he’s even still alive. Froze his bank account, stopped him from being able to travel, pay his rent or even buy food.
Xu Xiaodong is his name
I thought Tai Chi was like a yoga thing for groups of old people in the park
It's also for recovering from injuries in the ring, or preventing them from getting as bad in the first place.
Try that again on a Shaolin monk
The true meaning of OVERRATED
What about them? Are they professional fighters? If not, they'll have their ass kicked just the same
Unfortunately same results.
Considering how many practice normal competitive martal arts alongside whatever they dedicatedly study, they would have a serous advantage
it would be the same
The old guy was like "come beat me" and his wish was readily granted... lmfao
It s very good, especially whem you don t need to use it !
Bro got beat up 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why would anyone bring Tai Chi into the ring? It's like bringing a softball player to a hand grenade fight, and all he has is soft balls.
What's a Hand Grenade Fight?
@@John-i7oprobably high stakes hot-potato
@@amysteriousstranger1221 like, would a Hand Grenade Fight just be people throwing grenades at eachother?
@@John-i7o I was thinking more two people rapidly chucking 1 grenade between each other, either that or two people trying to bludgeon each other with inactive grenades
You didnt let him power up though.
100 years of practise is not enough 😂
Theres a very sad story behind the MMA guy in this video. China treated him like absolute dirt.
"Next it's Billy Blanks in Tae Boe vs MMA guy..."
I bet he could throw hands back in the day. Not sure if he would win in an octagon though
Okay but the Tai Chi master was fighting with his two fingers, the MMA fighter was fighting with his entire body 😂😂
Wait to see MMA Vs Feng Shui, with all those furniture blocking the punches and kicks
Now that sounds like a job for Jacky Chan!
Grasshopper complains: “you didn’t do it right”…😵
If you slow it down. The tai chi guy did a great job blocking and moving. But since he never sparred. He was too scared to punch back quick enough.
The first two punches he didnt counter even tho he had ample time. And right before he gets knocked down. He countered too late.
Point is, Spar.
bruh what is this comment lol? is this the old grandpa's alt account lol
you got me.
Blocking with his face 🤪
@@DanielBeard-bt7mn Out of all those punches thrown, the old man only got hit twice until he fell. So, try again.
@@xanbarclaps9090What was that supposed to even mean?!?!
"bruh what is this comment lol?"
My phone just reset from spell correct trying to fix your sentence as I typed it out to paraphrase.
He would've never stood a chance. Tai chi is a defensive type of martial art meant to turn an attackers strikes and momentum against them. However it is incredibly weak against aggressive fighting styles like MMA or muy thai. There's a reason it's better used for maintaining balance and flexibility.
people still don't get that Tai Chi is more of a supportive sport, mix tai chi with sanda or mma and you are the G, but just Tai chi won't work, it's supposed to give you more energy and keep you calm durring fights, but it does't teach you to fight, if you do just tai chi without combat sports... enjoy your self it's very healthy but if you want to learn how to fight you should do at least a combat sport in addition to it
Mr. Myagi if The Karate Kid movies were realistic
Not surprising. I hope the old guy was not seriously hurt and just had some sense knocked into him.
Tai Chi is excellent for when someone attacks you in slow motion.
When watching the Tyson fight my girlfriend said "MMA was like WWE" and me, having been a fighter before we met, just sat there laughing in my head 😆🤣
Tai chi is yoga. It’s meditation not combat
and the MMA guy was trying to help him get there! 🤣
I’ll give it to the Tai chi practitioner. At least he has the courage to step into the arena.
Taishit master got outclassed
Lol i was not expecting that!
Like si vienes por Jordi wild
Este no es el video que decia Jordi pero el de mma es el mismo y pasa practicamente lo mismo con dos seg de diferencia xd

The difference is aggression.

True, also the guy is old the other dude looks in his prime
This Tai Chi dude is a master all right. A master at getting his ass served!
En pocas palabras le saco la shusha al pelao xd
Man looked like he was about to cast a spell on him
Nice
Next time do mma vs chess master
I kind of laugh at how ridiculous this is.
I mean the MMA "fighter" just bull rushed him and didn't really try to truly fight.
What a joke.
In real fights you take advantage of opportunities, you wanted him to stand still and wait for them to beat him. The only joke is the arrogant master who thought he would win something like that
?
@@mr.keleton9710
Seriously?
I never once said that the other guy should stand there and take a beating, but that all he did was basically bull rush him and not actually even slightly sporting about it.
This wasn't a street fight, it was meant to be more of a sport.
@@chubbyninja89I think the 'bull rushing' is part of MMA fighting style?
@@sauceontoes3457
I honestly think that MMA is kind of ridiculous, mainly because it always seems like it devolves into one guy just beating the crap out the other without as much sport to it.
I mean, at least in Boxing there's set rules of engagement and such, it's not a street brawl or whatever.
Tai chi guy is also like a 100😂
Tai chi is great but that master is shit. The way he ran backwards was so wrong.
Tai Chi dude was like, “I put a POX on you! I put a POX… I put a… Oh, SNAP!!”

Here's a video of a guy who actually trained at the temple and was a legit monk. Even he says that Shaolin stuff will only get you so far and there are better MAs out there for just pure fighting skills. Shaolin style is great for conditioning the body and getting you ready to transition to other arts, which are deadlier on the street. Like boxing or muay thai. Or Sanda, which is a style of kung fu which is formidable.
In that case it’ll probably end in a pretty similar manner, just about every Kung-Fu style (excluding Shuai Jiao and Sanda) look really cool and in most cases require a lot of physical fitness but in a fight they won’t do any good
That's what happens when you sleep in and have to show up in your pajamas
😂🤭 destroy in one sec
Tai Chi's great. As a conditioning excercise. It's incredibly valuable as a supplement for real martal arts, espically for injury recovery.
It's just basically useless as a combatative art
Wing chun vs MMA
@@CorneliusPRhoades Not familiar with him, but what ever he is using on the ground, is not wing chun. His rolls look like ninjutsu. I noted a capoeira move as well, but didn't kick with it.
Nice fighter. His WC looks legit, but really relaxed and is very precise with his strikes, which will happen, if you practice WC regularly.
He has some very unique movements, that I do not recognize.

In real life it doesn't work like you want it to.
And, even then, you should wait, in his words:
"Until the verge of death."
What if you can't even fight back at that point due to serious injuries to your spine, liver and brain? What if the guy beating you is a bully that will now hurt even more people because you're too injured to fight him and now more people will be hurt by him when you could have stopped him?
Traditional martial arts have nothing to do with fighting. It's mostly about religion.
