Its like say what you want about Dead and Co (aka Dead and Slow) but John always killed Pigpen/blues songs because his natural voice goes so well with and expresses so much emotion. The headphones (never understood why those were necessary seemed try hard) and slow ass tempo can be overlooked if you can rip a Sugaree or any bluesy Dead and make it sound legit. Good cover band
