He even goes as far as to stop using phrases that he used incorrectly because he never heals from the hurt of being wrong about a definition. It's really fascinating when I hear you talk about his lack of socialisation because it becomes to clear why he finds it hard to admit when he's wrong, because all of his interactions involve a power differential and he can just discount anything anyone says that he doesn't like as 'the trolls'. He's not looking up a new word every day, he's just adding -style at the end of everything. Even some of the words he does know, he's bizarrely never heard them spoken. So it leads to situations like repeatedly mispronouncing masochistic. And then there's other times when he dumbs down his knowledge because he doesn't want to sound like a nerd in front of the group. So he's saying, "I don't even know, I think ..." before explaining something.

I notice he's recently started about talking about "unsubstantiated facts", especially when it comes to the bank leaks and WWE Champions. I think it's a tacit admission that he does whale on Champions and buy gin and DoorDash since he can't call them lies. So instead, he says they're "unverified" or uses some other weasel word. It's a conversation stopper. Will he ever show his WWE Champions account and "verify" that he isn't playing? Or that he's not buying gin or DoorDash? No, because he can't. So he tries to disregard any truths that hit the mark by sluffing them off as rumor when there's a lot of smoke. We've got enough evidence of the fire that we don't need to see it to know.
Some people argue about his political affiliations. In my opinion he is a Philbertarian: he only supports whatever will give him the largest short-term return. It escapes me how anyone can think this lazy, narcissistic man-child has developed a guiding political philosophy. I've not been caught up with DSP stuff recently (though that new Secret Limited video is wild), but it's become more apparent that his lexicon is a thing twisted by his own isolation, that words have lost their true meanings. As a writer it sort of annoys me just on the basis of respecting the development of the English language. The larger issue, though, is that this development of DSP's vocabulary is a very clear reflection of his mental state. He tries to use obscure or impressive words to make himself sound smart, and while it's quite fine to expand your vocabulary, DSP uses words and phrases completely independently of their actual meaning (his idea on what "rainy day fund" means is my personal favorite). The thing is, though, that he never, ever actually learns how to use these words and phrases. To DSP, "groupthink" will always mean what he thinks it means. "Thus" will always be used in the singular way he uses it, even when it has other uses like starting a sentence or continuing a thought. "Objective" will always mean whatever he personally thinks is true. "False" always means that he doesn't like it, though perhaps that's more tied to projection of his constant lies. "Sneak dissing" is just a completely invented term to distract from his paranoia and hatred of even the smallest bit of critique. And, of course, the evergreen classic "robust" always means something is vaguely good. But then we have "detractor." It is an inherently negative term just by definition, but DSP has, over the years, transformed it into almost a type of slur to throw at his enemies. Obviously it isn't anywhere near as terrible as the actual slurs DSP says, but the way he uses "detractor," as a diminutive or insulting descriptor, or a reference to something terrible ("detractor stupidity" comes to mind), makes me wonder if, somewhere in his mind, DSP has associated the term *permanently* with the abject hatred he feels for anyone who so much as disagrees with him. It's a very interesting development that I've only really noticed recently as DSP has moved towards more political and reaction content. He does it as part of a very clear plan to shift away from gaming content as his body and his already limited skill fail him. It makes me wonder what other malformed terms he'll acquire in the future as he encounters more challenging ideas.
i think its fine to misuse a word if it is conveyed properly, the thing here is that Groupthink is used in any way to justify the situation. He does this with many other words he does not fully understand so it is not an isolated incident. He also conflates multiple things and disproves one aspect and assumes it disproves all the others.

In Phil’s defense (I now feel dirty and need a shower), I think quite a few people share his same view/understanding of groupthink. Doesn’t make it easier to listen to by those who know the legitimate definition of it though.
Agreed most people use words that they don't fully grasp the concept of; and that's understandable, given how so many words are either very close together in meaning, or are not as self-explanatory as they first sound. There's nothing wrong in using a term incorrectly on the odd occasion, so long as you're willing to accept when you used it wrong, and learn from the experience. However, Phil himself has made it clear a few times that he doesn't fully understand the meaning of the term; and yet still uses it fairly regularly, and with an air of arrogance, as a means of 'educating' others. That's probably the worst part: he tries to 'educate' his fans on something he himself can't even fathom. Furthermore, most people would appreciate that they're using it wrong if multiple videos have explained in detail how, why and when they're using it wrong, and members of their chat have even pointed it out. But not Phil. It's the "rainy day fund" all over again, which concluded in him saying that *he* wasn't wrong for using it incorrectly for years, but rather *his school* was wrong for supposedly teaching the wrong meaning to him.
I've got lots of Steve khantent to catch up on, big ups. I'm only 4:45 in and have to point out that - STILL - one of Phil's slideshow songs (Goin' Back in Time) has the lyrics "they (the zombies) got r@ped, too fuckin' bad." Extra layer of irony: the song was already edited once to remove the Rocky Horror clip. If I'm following right, the SoK are much closer to the correct definition. They had a strict outline of how to monetize a detractor video, to the point they tried intimidating other channels over it. Tevin's old "Autistic Illuminati" video spawned from them trying to backstab him for not conforming (I forget the exact reason, I presume differing opinions lol). The SoK scarred Phil, and he's quick to assume ALL detractors are this same boogeyman.

I notice he's recently started about talking about "unsubstantiated facts", especially when it comes to the bank leaks and WWE Champions. I think it's a tacit admission that he does whale on Champions and buy gin and DoorDash since he can't call them lies. So instead, he says they're "unverified" or uses some other weasel word.
It's a conversation stopper. Will he ever show his WWE Champions account and "verify" that he isn't playing? Or that he's not buying gin or DoorDash? No, because he can't. So he tries to disregard any truths that hit the mark by sluffing them off as rumor when there's a lot of smoke. We've got enough evidence of the fire that we don't need to see it to know.

Some people argue about his political affiliations. In my opinion he is a Philbertarian: he only supports whatever will give him the largest short-term return.
It escapes me how anyone can think this lazy, narcissistic man-child has developed a guiding political philosophy.
Any political position he takes- regardless of what it may be- is the Worst DSP because it is the act of an ignorant person who has the misplaced arrogance to believe he is capable of tricking others into believing he supports anything beyond fulfilling his selfish needs.
Today, one month after he now says he is center and not progressive.. the guy who had his parents fund his move to the cheap side seattle apartment to pretend he gets fresh air in his dusty digital cell all day.
He literally just lies, straight up. He lies to the same chat ppl every day and they either dont care this guy is completely full of it constantly or they believe him without letting a single shred of evidence or single example of terrible behavior prevent them from giving him ACTUAL VALID CURRENCY. Its insane and should be psychoanalyzed professionally.
I've not been caught up with DSP stuff recently (though that new Secret Limited video is wild), but it's become more apparent that his lexicon is a thing twisted by his own isolation, that words have lost their true meanings. As a writer it sort of annoys me just on the basis of respecting the development of the English language.
The larger issue, though, is that this development of DSP's vocabulary is a very clear reflection of his mental state. He tries to use obscure or impressive words to make himself sound smart, and while it's quite fine to expand your vocabulary, DSP uses words and phrases completely independently of their actual meaning (his idea on what "rainy day fund" means is my personal favorite). The thing is, though, that he never, ever actually learns how to use these words and phrases. To DSP, "groupthink" will always mean what he thinks it means. "Thus" will always be used in the singular way he uses it, even when it has other uses like starting a sentence or continuing a thought. "Objective" will always mean whatever he personally thinks is true. "False" always means that he doesn't like it, though perhaps that's more tied to projection of his constant lies. "Sneak dissing" is just a completely invented term to distract from his paranoia and hatred of even the smallest bit of critique. And, of course, the evergreen classic "robust" always means something is vaguely good.
But then we have "detractor." It is an inherently negative term just by definition, but DSP has, over the years, transformed it into almost a type of slur to throw at his enemies. Obviously it isn't anywhere near as terrible as the actual slurs DSP says, but the way he uses "detractor," as a diminutive or insulting descriptor, or a reference to something terrible ("detractor stupidity" comes to mind), makes me wonder if, somewhere in his mind, DSP has associated the term *permanently* with the abject hatred he feels for anyone who so much as disagrees with him.
It's a very interesting development that I've only really noticed recently as DSP has moved towards more political and reaction content. He does it as part of a very clear plan to shift away from gaming content as his body and his already limited skill fail him. It makes me wonder what other malformed terms he'll acquire in the future as he encounters more challenging ideas.
Small point: I believe that "sneak dissing" came from the Wings community.

i think its fine to misuse a word if it is conveyed properly, the thing here is that Groupthink is used in any way to justify the situation. He does this with many other words he does not fully understand so it is not an isolated incident. He also conflates multiple things and disproves one aspect and assumes it disproves all the others.

It is funny that Phil, despite going all-in on something once he finally decides to take a stance is as quickly dismantled by himself or his own words/actions if given enough time or, if the issue isn't new, enough archived footage. It's amazing watching him not being able to see things from the other side when he goes on about groupthink but also cultivates his unironic viewers by the means he describes things and makes himself an arbiter of some kind of truth. You'll never get an objective perspective from Phil because he never wants to put in the time to truly understand anything for himself but rather uses his audience's stances and opinions to mold his own but tell his audience he's "improved" on their perspective and to adopt his as their own to better serve his needs. If you look at him now it took 2 streams with Kino casino for Phils chat to completely adopt the ridiculous word "Felted" and not only that, Kino Casino`s viewers laughed at Phil until Kino changed their minds and started to praise Phil and all of a sudden their viewers did the same. I know it's something of a meme that DSP breathes and you make a 12+ hour video, but don't feel weird about pursuing shorter-form content. We appreciate your insight whether you do long, edited, and researched videos, or if you just live reacted to the guy. I originally came to your channel because of your long-form content, but I concede that short-form videos are easier to produce and can still be good. So don't feel like you're stuck doing marathon length vids.

In Phil’s defense (I now feel dirty and need a shower), I think quite a few people share his same view/understanding of groupthink. Doesn’t make it easier to listen to by those who know the legitimate definition of it though.
Agreed most people use words that they don't fully grasp the concept of; and that's understandable, given how so many words are either very close together in meaning, or are not as self-explanatory as they first sound. There's nothing wrong in using a term incorrectly on the odd occasion, so long as you're willing to accept when you used it wrong, and learn from the experience.
However, Phil himself has made it clear a few times that he doesn't fully understand the meaning of the term; and yet still uses it fairly regularly, and with an air of arrogance, as a means of 'educating' others. That's probably the worst part: he tries to 'educate' his fans on something he himself can't even fathom. Furthermore, most people would appreciate that they're using it wrong if multiple videos have explained in detail how, why and when they're using it wrong, and members of their chat have even pointed it out. But not Phil. It's the "rainy day fund" all over again, which concluded in him saying that *he* wasn't wrong for using it incorrectly for years, but rather *his school* was wrong for supposedly teaching the wrong meaning to him.

I'm only 4:45 in and have to point out that - STILL - one of Phil's slideshow songs (Goin' Back in Time) has the lyrics "they (the zombies) got r@ped, too fuckin' bad." Extra layer of irony: the song was already edited once to remove the Rocky Horror clip.
If I'm following right, the SoK are much closer to the correct definition. They had a strict outline of how to monetize a detractor video, to the point they tried intimidating other channels over it. Tevin's old "Autistic Illuminati" video spawned from them trying to backstab him for not conforming (I forget the exact reason, I presume differing opinions lol). The SoK scarred Phil, and he's quick to assume ALL detractors are this same boogeyman.

1. Phil is the type of asshole to have a "word a day" calendar and think he's academically enriching himself while consistently misusing the daily word in order to appear smarter. He misuses words constantly.
2. Even if you were to explain what groupthink was to Phil, he would say he's using it correctly since he believes the detractor community acts as a hivemind (except when it doesn't) and people are pressured into it due to outside forces and a subconscious need to belong. Nevermind the fact that we have ousted the Sons of Kojima since Fred was actually practicing groupthink tactics and generally despise James the Lesser and Supercrzy but even that is just on KF while the YT detractors have a better opinion of them.
