FIRST CLASS BUS FROM SINGAPORE TO KUALA LUMPUR! 🇲🇾 (Transtar Travel Bus Review | Full Experience!)

- Are you wondering if it's worth it to pay for the luxury bus from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur or vice versa? Well, yes it is! There you have it :)
But still watch the video so you know what to expect, and well... because it will help our channel if you give us 9 minutes of your time, and maybe we can make back the money we invested to make this video 😂
The company we used is called Transtar Travel. We used this website to book our tickets:
easybook.com
There are going to be several companies listed there, and they're probably similar, but we can only recommend the one we used. Hope you find this Transtar Travel Bus Review useful to plan your own trip!
As mentioned in the video, we payed $45 p/p. Not sure why, but our bus picked us up outside of SG's center area. We had to go to that random stop you saw in the video... but it all worked out.

Thank you for a very informative video, I was skeptical about taking bus or coach from Singapore to KL but now this video convinced me to explore alternative ways to KL, keep it up😊👍💪
It was the comfiest bus :) And thanks for watching!
Welcome back. Luxury buses between the two countries is not a new thing though. In the early days, aeroline was a brand name but now many brands have appeared. Aeroline still ply between kl and singapore. It is unfortunate malaysia cancelled the high speed rail project due to some constraints brought about by covid19 and political change of gov. The estimated travel time using the proposed hsr was 90 minutes between kl and singapore . We hoped that in the near future a big private company can fund it.

Transtar is quite old as well. They were always a nicer option than Aeroline back in the early 2000s when I was commuting regularly to Singapore.
Great video guys. That bus looks more comfortable than my couch at home! 🚌

Lovely video, Aimara & Gordon. Just a quick question: Did you need to fill out any online forms prior to entering Malaysia? Something like SG Arrival Card? Thanks!
Honestly, we don't really remember. But I'm pretty sure everyone needs to fill out the SG arrival card before entering, no matter whether you enter by bus/car or plane.
Hello! Thanks very much for this information. I will be travelling from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, next month. This looks like a great option.
We had a great experience :) Safe travels 💞
That bus looks amazing! We are in Johor Bahru and will need to get back to KL in the coming weeks so you've convinced us to try and get one for ourselves! 😂 😂
hahaha yes! Go for it, totally worth it :)

Yeah that bus was so cool and comfortable! Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
You have to be back in Malaysia or Singapore in 2027. In 2026 Electrified Double track train between Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru will be completed. Whilst connecting Rapid Transit System between Johor Bahru and Singapore is scheduled to be completed by end of 2026. So 2027 would be a perfect year for both of you to try out these new trains.
High Speed Train (250-350 km/hr train) is also planned between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The politics and finance talk between the country is yet to be concluded. Once this is done, then it will be your next trip to Malaysia/Singapore.
LOL artistic shots!! that was hilarious.

Been using Aeroline for years, it's way better than flying, though their KL terminus is near where I stay which helps!
it really is great! super comfortable and relaxed compared to going to an airport. we would for sure do it again 😎
busyg luar biasa keren

Yayyyyyyy!!!!

welcome back home guys!
Thanks so much ❤️
Thanks for the info. Was scouring the internet looking for where the bus stop is actually for those going from Kuala Lumpur to Malaysia. In front of the mall ✔️
hahaha yes! Right in front of it! Safe travels 😊
@@waysoftheworld_ thanks!
Thanks for this video, it's so informative and fun to watch! I'm thinking of going from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur by bus as well but I'm a bit concerned about the proof of onward travel that they might ask for when I'm entering Singapore. Is it enough proof of onward travel to have a bus ticket? Did you get asked for it when you came into Singapore?
Thanks so much for watching! ❤️ We didn't have our bus booked when we entered SG lol - but we did fly there from KL. They didn't really ask for anything, other than where we were staying and stuff like that... But it's better if you do have something booked! A bus ticket should count :)
Large Baggage (Size like 30 Kg Check-in Baggage) is allowing for travel by this bus?
so much more comfortable than Air Asia!! 😎
😂 you know it!
Welcome back home guys!
Thanks so much ❤️ It felt good to be back so soon 🥰
@Ways of the World can't move on? Haha

Would you mind telling us, where did you stay at Singapore. If possible please share the link. Thank you in advance 🙏
Hi, we stayed with our friend :) We don't have any recs this time, sorry 😞
First off.... My wife and I love your videos. I am probably missing something, but I am looking for the link to the Air B&B that you stayed at. We are visiting KL in November and may want to check that out. Thank you.
Hey guys! Thanks for the kind words! No, you're not missing anything, I just forgot to add it to the description lol. Here you have it: www.airbnb.com/rooms/27297612?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=75360a90-660d-4e92-bd3a-14e126f2c196
and here's also the link to the other Airbnb we stayed at in KL (on our first visit). A slightly better location, but you really can't beat the price from the other one!

Will there be toilet stops from Johor to KL? How long is the total bus journey?
welcome home guys!

How long was the trip? How many bus stops for toilet breaks?

How many hrs is the travel from SG to KL via bus?
There is no best bus from Singapore to KL: no matter which company you use the journey is painful. I have tried so many companies and for a while I swore off the trip altogether. But today I was traveling with some special luggage so I tried the bus again. I booked Transtar as it has been noted a “luxury” carrier. But there’s not much luxury aside from the very wide, reclining seats. No blankets, no wifi, no entertainment system, but there was a charging outlet. But that’s not the problem. The issues are the boarder and the “lunch break”. If you board at Jurong East you can save up to an hour on your journey as most companies drive around Singapore picking up passengers at various points. This is painful. But the border involves stopping and disembarking at both the Singapore and Malaysian checkpoints. Everyone one must get their passport checked and luggage as well in the arrival country. Then you must wait for stragglers. We left Jurong East at 9AM, but were not through the Malaysian check until after 11AM. THEN at noon the bus stopped at the same awful “rest stop” that all of the busses seem to stop at. As far as I could tell, few people had lunch-mostly we just waited for the driver. We did not arrive at JBS (the large bus station on the south side of KL) until just before 4PM, about 6 hours after we left Johor. The distance is less than 300 km. That’s a slow trip. Given how cheap flights can be on Air Asia or FireFly, it’s best to drive.
Let journey begin again guys
Yes 🇲🇾
Welcome back to Malaysia
Thanks so much!! 🥰
Its not 30 days per calendar year? I am American and my girl is from VZ as well. We are going in January and didn't know if we could extend our stamps
See the reply on your other comment - hope it helped 👍

Welcome to Kuala lumpur..stay safe...
Thanks! We had a blast :)
Hello, I have a question regarding the border crossing when traveling through transtar from Singapore to Malaysia. Do you know the name of the border crossing they go through by any chance? Thank you so much!
No, we don't know the name... maybe if you message the company, they can let you know.
Follow up question if you mind my asking; how long does the immigration take? And what did immigration look like? As American citizens do you have e to pay at the Malaysian side border crossing for any type of visa? Thank you!!
How do you book the bus?
The city that gives you the best bang for your buck!😊✌️
It's true! ❤️😊
Welcome back to Malaysia. Do come to Kelantan
Thank you so much!! Hopefully next time. We have already left :( Our videos are very behind 🙈
@@waysoftheworld_ you're welcome
Please let me know what paper passport is required for a day trip from Singapore to Johor Baru
Your international passport
New subscriber here. Going to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in May 2024 first time for both cities and this made me want to do the bus instead of flying! Do they assign seats when you book the ticket? Thank you.
Awesome! Yes, you can select your seat when you book your ticket :)
quick question... what's the policy on mask wearing now on the trains/monorail/buses in both Malaysia AND Singapore? I'm on the Transtar website and it mentions mandatory mask wearing while on the bus. From all the recent travel vlogs I've watched, there aren't that many people wearing masks now.
*I'm not for/against mask wearing.. just curiously asking. thanks!*
Hello - there is no policy that I'm aware of that mandates mask wearing while using public transportation. We certainly were never instructed to wear it - so it's just a personal preference thing at this point 👍
How long was the bus ride?
Is there a bathroom?
Can you bring a 30k luggage and a 7k hand carry on the bus? Thank you
Hey guys did you need to show proof of exit when you entered Singapore? Same question when you entered Malaysia, did they ask for a proof of return ticket or onward ticket?
Howdy, yea I'm pretty sure it's a requirement for SG. The entry is all digital, so I guess it was asked then. But honestly, I don't remember. For Malaysia I wasn't asked (US passport), my wife was asked (Venezuela Passport). I think it's best to be safe for both countries.
How anout luggage allowance?
They are generally not super strict with luggage in these buses... we're not 100% sure because we travel with carry-on, but we saw people with bigger suitcases ;)
Nice how long the journey from singapore to kL.???
Hi :) We didn't time it, but I think 6 or 6.5 hours.
Hi. Great video. Thanks . See you.
Hi! Thanks for watching Hyde ❤️ Have a great weekend!
Wohoo wb!!
Thanks so much!! 🥰
Hi, how much time was the ride in Bus?
We are Vzlans living in KL for 2years already and I recognized the passport haha
jajajaja hola 🇻🇪 no tomamos el tiempo, pero si mal no recuerdo fueron 6 horas o 6.5 desde que nos montamos hasta que nos bajamos :)
Yes, welcome home.
Thank you! 😊
looks very comfortable, taking the bus to Kuala Lumpur from Singapore, more comfortable than taking a plane. How long does it take to take the bus from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur? greeting from England
An express bus will take about 4-5 hours, but of course it depends on traffic and border control. I think the bus we took has a different schedule than other buses, and border control was empty so we flew through. Cheers 🙌
Hi im from hawaii, just asking is there any toilet inside the bus?
Hey there - there was no toilet in the bus. And there was only 1 bathroom break during the journey...
Крутой автобус :)
Going through Malaysian customs & immigration is easier than going through Singaporean when going into Singapore. M is less strict than S.
We were lucky :) They were both easy breezy!
you are 100% right man because i had experienced it at tuas checkpoint and there was this one switzerland white guy got interrogated at singapore ktm train station in woodlands because he was snapping pictures at the station and there also this one ireland white guy who get deported back at changi airport because his passport got a little tear at the back
so i assumed that your previous 50 hours long flight to KL really worth it. KL is like home. might be not a perfect home but its home sweet home. hhehehe
100% worth it ❤️
where i can buy a ticket? from singapore to KL? how much does it cost? one way trip?
the booking link is in the video description 👍
Recommend pulqu perhentian, pulau tioman
Thank you! We will be back! 😊
What is the name of this bus company?
one question to ask , your previous video say you only spend few day in malaysia but you spend few week in malaysia ( included ) sabah . now you back again . a feel you not to answer via text n better made a video
Hi! Not sure what you mean, but yes, before this trip we spent a whole month exploring Malaysia, this time we came back for 9 days but it was mostly to catch up with work. We didn't really make an extra KL video.
Is it recommended to travel with 18 month old baby...how long did it take to reach there?
We really have no experience traveling with kids... bus ride was about 6-7 hours total.
@@waysoftheworld_ hmm...I understand..thank you 😊
Nice

Hi. In the thumbnail it says $45. The link to book is in the description. Where to take it, it depends on which time/day of the week you're traveling.
How was border control from KL to SIN? How long did it take?
We didn't go from KL to Singapore. From Singapore to Malaysia it took about 10 minutes - there was no line at all. But we heard from KL to Singapore can take longer...

do they have a free wifi onboard?
Yes, there was free wifi onboard. we didn't use it, so I can't say how fast it was.
Hi guys, could you pls mention about the travel time ?
Hi, yes so sorry we forgot to mention that... we're not 100% sure but I think it was 6-7 hours total ;) That was with just a bit of traffic.

How long it take from SG to KL by bus ?
We can't remember exactly, but I think it was 6-7 hours. It can take longer if there's traffic, but we didn't experience much traffic...
Hi ..does customs ask for a return ticket to SG ?
not necessarily back to SG - but yea, they could ask for an exit ticket. They didn't ask me (Gordon) - they did ask Aimara...
Thank you very much 🙏
