One thing I learned is if you’re using a convection oven cook at 400° F and cook for 10 to 13 minutes.

I just made a batch of these and they were not that easy. First, u need a rolling pin to help flatten the pastry a bit otherwise it was too thick. I learned that you have to make relatively perfect squares so the pastry folds over properly and evenly. Next time I will only do a white egg wash and omit the yolk bc I didn’t like the taste of the egg yolk. Also, Next time when I flatten out the cold pastry I will sprinkle lightly with sugar then roll, fill and fold bc I like it a bit sweeter.I hope this might help someone who isn’t a pro pastry chef like me lol. I did like learning the different shapes you made from the pastry, but you definitely made it look easier than it was.👩🏻🍳🥮
I have an abundance of powdered sugar. Would that work to sweeten it up? I found myself thinking very much the same thing. That the pastry as is was just a tad too bland.
Just made them and you are right. They need to be rolled out first. Without rolling, the square is too small. Also, the written recipe says 1 tablespoon of jam. That's way to much. It spills out and burns and makes the whole pastry taste burnt.

I would probably put sugar crystals or pears for decoration after the egg wash. For that, wow effect
