The speech by Maheshwari sir in the first episode gave me the chills. I wasn’t and am not an IIT aspirant and that speech gave ME anxiety 🥲.
Now that’s impactful writing and performance.
We heard more or less of the same speech during my drop year In the very first class of allen.
Aaplog 2 saal late hai .jisko Krna hai wo to 11th se hi lag gaya hai .
Oh I so hate the IIT coaching industry! The very mention of names like Allen is just so triggering 🤣
True, am 27 and almost settled in career after failing 12th and changed to commerce as I couldn't handle science.
But that scene literally gave me chills! SUV to hatchback, how beautiful be your wife and all those bullshiit filling up in kids of that age is just so stupid.
@@abhishek8243 Exactly yaar...they are filling the minds of innocent kids with bogus ideas. Only motivation they can give you is only related to material. I have been through all these until I found a good mentor who brought my life back on track by evicting all these shits from my mind.
Sameeee I was feeling so anxious after this too
One line that resonated with me the most in season 1 was "maa baap ke decisions shayad galat ho sakte hai but unki niyat galat nahi hoti"..This line made me realise that this show is different it is not your typical parents are selfish stereotype...
People often forget that our parents come from a generation where there were not much jobs in the market and engineering was something that atleast guaranteed a source of income...they didn't wanna see us go through the same hardships that they went through

For me the autodriver from season 1 who said " Aare parhai karlo thora" was the most underrated character in Kota Factory.

I think the problem is not with the JEE exams but with the pressure that Parents and Society puts on a student, like HOW many Students ARE ACTUALLY interested in Engineering? If someone doesn't have a interest in it, he/she will definitely find it way more difficult to study it as compared to those who actually it
the pressure is definitely what takes a toll on students!
I just wasted one year preparing for jee. Glad that i already know its not for me. There are many ways to achieve dreams than just IIT. To me its self realization, but my friends think its the case of sour grapes.
@@TriedRefusedProductions Hi jammy, you are following your passion and I love that thing about you. You are a very open minded person and that's the best thing about you.

Having lived two years in kota and given 3 years of my life to the JEE exam and still not qualifying for it really feels like I am a great disappointment and a burden on my parents . Though they never conveyed this I still feel this and it just crushes me .
Edit : I would like to give my best wishes to students that are going to give any competitive exams and if you're not selected , life isn't finished. Even though it sounds generic but having experienced it first hand gives it a whole new meaning to me.

Best thing about this season is more screen time jeetu bhaiya + no Unacademy promotion

Jammy, calling JEE As "J Double E" has the same vibe as of calling Manchester United as "ManU"
😂
Plzz don't call Manchester United by this name u may call them man United but this word is so depressing and disheartening to all Manchester United fans because of the 'Munich disaster'
Which killed the core team members of the United team in 1958 and when United were still recovering from this grief and were forming a new team the opposition fans mocked them by chanting "man u never intended to comback"..so plzzz next time don't say this word

I still remember the day when JEE results were out. The number of hours I spent crying and contemplating my fate is innumerable. I wanted to kill myself. Seeing my peers who cleared the exam, seeing all the banners and cutouts in and around my school, I felt like a huge ass disappointment (and a burden to my parents). Now, more than four years later, I can proudly say that although I failed JEE, I made it this far. I'm proud of where I am now. Doesn't matter where you graduate from. When jeetu bhaiya said, *"A person deems himself a bigger loser than the world does"*
That line hit me. Nothing more relatable than this.
Cause I'm experiencing the same shit. Self doubt is the worst thing possible. The education system needs to change.
Parents' expectations and trying after trying really drain you. No one really cares what you want. When you fail, you feel like a disappointment to everyone. In Asian families, noone really backs you
So true
Yes man, Self doubt kills you more than anything else and this cancer is born out of fear and insecurities based on which coaching institutes and other institutions flourish. It happens because we aren't taught logical thinking rather trained to live in herd mentality. You aren't even taught that you should have dreams which shouldn't be based on any trend. I have been all through these coaching and competitive exams shit. It was god's grace that I found a good mentor who made me realise the true meaning of life.

Actually with all due respect, I would like to defer, season 2 was way better than S1. Perhaps S2 is more relatable to students who have lived in kota. I was there for one year. Portrayal is brilliantly accurate. In one scene when vaibhav and vartika goes to MacDonald, most probably tvf chose only MacDonald as in kota(2013) MacDonald was most famous among students and only fast food chain in the Mall. This whole series was very very precise
Yeah I think this was way better than season 1 and was way too relatable for students
I was looking for this comment

Cannot forget the ending of season 2, it was like a gut punch bringing us closer to the harsh reality. "Ye kuch bachhe hote hai jinse darr lagta hai" chills !!
Season 2 can be connected more by people actually who actually have been in kota or have been part these big coachings in any other part of the country. Jee and neet aspirants can feel season 2 though it wasn't only about Vaibhav.
And in many aspects this was needed for a setup of season 3.
I agree. I'm not a jee or neet aspirants and haven't been to Kota and therefore this season gave me some anxiety especially at the end when the student died. But on the other hand , my cousin who has cleared JEE and is in IIT Kharagpur , it's much relatable. It's amazing but for me , I think S1 was better for someone who just wants to watch it for fun. But for someone who has given the exams wants to actually RELATE , it's a masterpiece. Tvf truly knows the pulse of India

Man I still remember those sleepless nights, feeling of hopelessness, suffocation,Sabal building of Allen, Mahavir Nagar 2 ....I was at my all time low at that time.... watching this show still sends shivers down my spine
I really loved the depiction of Meenal in season 1, season 2 mein she was not that innocent Meenal I fell in love with once, Meena was still the innocent meena, but Meenal changed. Else no complain. They precision with which they depicted the Allen teachers, uff I could so relate (they were nightmares honestly)
Meenal ka Sirf 5 min screen presence he season 2 me..Aaur meena Aaur Meenal ke bich sayad ek hi dialogue hain..Aaur aaise bhi 1 saal ke baad bht student change ho jate hain kota main.
Actually I also felt the same even her accent and look changed drastically, maybe their is change in one year but remember that S1 and S2 in story timeline are events of around 6 months.....
I loved the first season.....But my experiences in Kota were quite different. Joining an institute in the middle of the year......leaves you with a lot of confusion.....the atmosphere there is completely different. Vaibhav here is able to survive and eventually sore higher because of his supportive friends and mentor who at least emotionally uplift him. In my case....it was entirely different. Teachers only care about the star batches and the topper of each batch..... even when I made several efforts to consult them with the problems I am facing....they are least interested to even hear them. I don't know much about boys....but the girls there were never interested in sharing notes, discussing dpp question.... Some were totally into studies (and extremely selfish) and some just did not care about it at all. I found no girl holding a middle ground. Eventually it's on you whether you would still keep your calm and continue putting the same amount of hardwork and brain on a regular basis. BTW ....I don't hate Kota at all. It actually opened me up even more and made me realize that life is actually quite difficult 😂😂.
That's what I also saw in the first season

First season was a sneak peak into after a student enters Kota. But what happens after entering, the tough cut-throat competition between coachings, students and faculties in general, this season focusses upon. But last few minutes was something ,I wasn't expecting. Goosebumps, simply.
i legit screamed fuckk noo at the end of the season finale...so sad
The second season is on whole different level, their is an intricate beauty and inspiration in each and every scene.
Great directorial work, great acting, and fabulous dialouges.
Season 2 dealt with almost all the aspects of an average student in Kota.
I loved it more than season 1 cause I could relate to it so much. The kind of hype around toppers and the way some smart ass kids are always the priority for the coaching institutes sometimes puts you down in so many ways. I felt Vaibhav during the "pratigya" scene and the scene where AIR 1 poster was already made with different students' photos.
The show dealt with the rank craziness of the city so well.
The city where toppers are show pieces and average students are used to pay their bills.
The unlimited amount of love mothers have for their children. I cried and cried and cried in episode 4.
The last scene of season 2 describes the KOTA HORROR
This series alone has so much content and skillfull acting ,than some actor's whole career doesn't.

The moment when they just change the air 1 poster was one of the most chilling moments

Nah,the second season is better. Diverting from Vaibhav's POV was the best decision they made. Also,it is objectively more serious in tone with no pyar wala bullshit for plot. Cubicles,Aspirants and Kota factory season 1 used the girl trope for plot progression. This season didn't.
Absolutely. These bollywoodiya reviewers will never get it.
I fall in love with this series, because it is so relatable. I was never a very good student, so I didn't get into this admission rat race, but my friends did.
Technically speaking I was sure I would not be able to relate to this series as I do not belong to the Engineering / Medicine clan. Season 1 for me was like another one of the likes of 3 Idiots or Chichore where one gets a sneak peak into this interesting yet unique world. But Season 2 did work the magic for me. I could relate to many parts where friends eventually become part of your thought process and decision making. And the fact that one dotes so much on mentors who can connect with them is truly commendable. My personal favourite was when Jeetu Bhaiyya calls 3 of his students to make arrangements for his Institute. I might not be an Engineering grad, but I do have students whom I mentored come up to my rescue many a times.
in india majority of students (including me) who are preparing for JEE just want a seat in IITs or NITs they don't care about the branch
this is the biggest reason majority of students prepare for JEE even without having interest in it which leads to more competition and many deserving students getting neglected
one of my friend had a passion of becoming a fighter pilot he gave NDA and literally cleared all the tests but was rejected in the last round so he is now preparing for JEE even though he hates engg and finds it overrated(increasing the comp again)
Engineering will again give him chance for Armed Forces that might be the reason.
@@upscshorts45196 i wrote this comment in september 2021 or something and today my friend is in an IIT in CSE branch, he was rejected in the medicals back then because his eyesight was bit weak
This season shows very important aspects for teenage life ...they focuses on exam pressure, fear of future, masturbation/ periods .also crush/first relationship as well and how coaching classes works...truly remarkable season 2 of kota factory
Series like Kota Factory are an eye opener for all those who still believe that taking biology means becoming a doctor and maths , an engineer.
Just wish students and their parents understand the need of the hour and focus on their capabilities rather than being in the rat race.
Waiting to get a like from jammy
What is not to love about it, what is missing in this series, it is literally flawless!!!!!
And after all these, most students still don't know that getting into IIT doesn't guarantee you a high paying job (or even a job), you still have to struggle and compete with others. The sad reality is "IIT karlo life set hai" is the biggest lie you believed. Even students from NIT'S, BITS or other good colleges leave you in the same position as a graduate from IIT after graduation.
I just wanna say this Kota factory is the most relatable show for me the 4th episode made me cried so much as the mom part was the one I had an experience with myself as I was diagnosed with jaundice in my 2nd year.
I fell in love with the series.. I watched it again and again... That was during my neet preparation last year... Even though I was for medical coaching, we could clearly relate it with his situation... Each and every scene was relatable like seeing ourselves in vaibhav.. Each and every problem and the way we adjust ourselves except their outing and partying because we don't get even that time in coaching institute hostels....
The only bad about Kota Factory is that it can now no longer be streamed for free, jin logon pe Netflix nahi hai unka toh socha hota yaar😅😶

I was in 11th standard and just starting to prepare for NEET when I watched the first season. Though I was not part of any big name coaching institute and studying from home, the pressure and stress of competitive exam was inevitable. And now here i am after giving the exam less than a month ago, watching the 2nd season as politicians in my state decide whether NEET is a fair mode of admission.
The first season gave me motivation that I needed back then. It made me feel less alone as no one around me was taking entrance exams seriously at that time. I haven't watched the second season yet, but it sure looks promising.
It is a good thing that Netflix is picking up and supporting these awesome shows. But they had a greater outreach on RUclips which they will lose. But I guess it's inevitable as this situation is financially more sustainable.

Kota Factory shows the reality of Indian Students. Blame it on parents or society the actual fact will be the failure of our education system that forces so many lives for this rat race rather acknowledging their actual skills and hidden potential which is unique for every individual.
Kota Factory touches heart and soul because of struggles and pain which we can find relatable. 🙂

I know a lot of people want to, and do, question the engineering path upon which so many students are forced down. However, especially in our media, this has been a very recurrent theme of questioning the system instead of simply portraying it, something that was beautifully done in both Aspirants (for UPSC, not JEE) and Kota Factory S1, and was royally messed up by ventures like 3 Idiots, FALTU, Laakhon Mei Ek S1, etc.
I haven't watched S2 yet but I do hope that the focus is still on portraying that life rather than questioning its purpose since that is already being done a lot in society and media today. As a passionate engineer myself, one of the reasons I loved Vaibhav's character was because unlike other films/series here is a protagonist who WANTS TO do engineering and be successful in it. He was such a realistic character that I went back to my teenage and felt the same emotions I had back then.
And the reason Netflix acquiring this series made me nervous was because I really hope they didn't mess up that character in the midst of trying to question the system because the portrayal in the first season itself was a question mark on the flaws of the system (contrary to questioning the whole system itself). Thanks for the great review Jammy!
I am a student from Resonance, Kota where maheswari classes are shot.. really this whole story is super real... Hats off...
this was an amazing season..
though somewhere I felt like it's bit slow but the storyline is more that relatable..
teachers fast pace , difficult to cope up with ,
that demotivational lecture of maheshwari sir(I remember my chemistry teacher telling in class that I can easily tell who will crack iit seeing your faces , iitians don't seem lost and confused in classes , they reply to questions immediately)
periods problems , feeling underconfident , fear of fortnightly tests, guilt of not able to meet parents expectations, constant question in head why am i doing this , oily mess food , first love
but we didn't had any jitu bhaiya in our life who would have solutions of all our issues.
it's amazing series ..showing real life struggles of students.
and that scene in last episode where the guy who got air 4 was crying , that gave me a different perspective , that after cracking iit also not everyone gets happy , iit is not a key to our happiness , so we should just take it as a competitive exam rather making it our whole life.
Amazing series can't wait for next season of panchayat of jitendra kumar

Underated but harsh truth .
Last year I got 15k rank in jee advance. Being a general category student,I could not get any seat in iit . I had already messed up in jee main (36k) rank. But my friend who was obc got 12k rank and then also got iit Guwahati chemical which ends at 5.5k for general.
The transition from colour to black and white while Vaibhav slowly realises what he would be dealing with at Maheshwari is cinematic excellence.
No it isnt. Kuch toh subtlety rakhte
I haven't seen the second season yet but looking back on the first season made me realise that it's perfect for what sort of thoughts one goes through while preparing for the exam in their 11th class. So, going by that analogy, the second season would be apt for the struggles of a class 12th student in Kota.
I too have faced some of these issues while preparing for JEE as a dropper, so the droppers storyline might be the most relatable for me.
Still, the perfection in TVF's writing is unmatched when it comes to capturing the stories of so many of us who remain unnamed.
Firstly some people down are talking negative about season 2 but as i myself have been through neet preparations and have seen kota i can really assure you that season 2 has captured kota more deeply then season 1.....season 1 was more about vaibhav struggle as a jee aspirant and only gave a superficial view about kota but season 2 excellently captures the inner environment of kota and its coaching institutes and also it is just not about vaibhav but of other students who faces various problems during their preparations that's why its name is "Kota factory" and Not "Vaibhav Ki IIT Preparation"
2019: A Medical Aspirant
2020: Appeared For Neet
2021: Finally In The Field (BDS 1st year)
Still remember watching the first season going to chemistry classes !
P.S. 1st year exams today, wish me luck xD
All d bestttt
@@manmeetsarli thanks bro, it went great !
Finally We having our own Stories! This should be continue🤙
Most organic comment section ever and evry time !! 🔥
I don't know what it is exactly but something was off, jeetu bhaiya oh so preachy, things getting fixed in a moment, the whole maa trope, and so on. I agree episode 5 was the most impactful and felt closest to season 1.
Sameer Saxena as keshav Maheshwari actually gave me PTSD 😬
I think there is also a problem with the way the colleges select students for engineering fields. For example I want to be a software engineer but the way in India is to gice jee exams which does not have to do anything with computer science. Now some people will say that pcm is required for programming. Well, sorry to break it down to you but only high school level maths is enough for software development... no need of IIT level maths there. Phy is only required in game development. And chemistry has nothing to do with coding.
This is the problem that i am facing. I am pretty good at coding and i have learnt it online. But I am not so good at JEE level pcm questions. So i fear that maybe i would not be able to get into a good college just bcoz of some subjects which have nothing to do with my interest
Exactly!! One of my classmates was genuinely interested in programming and he was quite a rare talent. But the poor lad was weak in science and didn't clear jee. Well good for him, now he is in US doing very well.
Same is with with medical. Physics doesn't have that much importance and relevance in the field but because of the absurd competition, the subject has become a make or break factor in getting mbbs seats. People who are genuinely passionate about being doctor get left out because of physics. There were so many kids in my batch who had zero interest in the medical field and always kept whining about this and that. They all got into medical field just to make big bucks. But that's not how it is in reality. To make those big bucks, you need years of experience. I wish parents who are not in the medical field, do a bit of research before pushing their kids into the rat race for mbbs.
If you can afford it, I would advice you to study abroad. It would be hard for you to get into any good college without giving any entrance exams
@@aishwaryaskumar6793 @AileenB Yeah... I dont understand why do they ask phy questions in the NEET exam. It is not of much importance in the medical field. And you are also right about the fact that many parents make their kids pursue medical science for good money... But you can only make those big bucks if you have years of experience and practice. Even the mbbs degree will only give you the ticket to open your own clinic
Vaibhav says exactly what I thought about Periodic Table in college days.
I disagree with your view here. A look at the issues of all characters was important because there is no one kind of kid who all issues. Toppers have different issues. Average different. "Backbenchers" different. Those who can't score well, different. Their representation in issue is worthy of a watch.
Actually many are criticizing s2 .. I got the reason those which are in the IIT now or so confident to be in IIT that nothing will happen to others if they fail. But a avg student of kota will surely connect with food problems/health issues and still continuing studying under peer pressure. Ig s1 and s2 both are very accurate but s2 will be feel by 90% of student of kota.
The fact that a factory was shown both n the start and end of the series was really metaphorical but it less discussed. Students like Vaibhav are being processed in the factory through various brutal ways, students like the one who rank AIR 1 are the products of the factory and students like Vernali (who committed suicide) are the smoke that evaporated quitely into the air causing much pollution in the minds of people connected, of the same factory.
The transition from colour to black & white at first episode gives such a realism ...no words
As a person who spent his 11th and 12th in Kota, I can say that the series is the most accurate depiction of life in Kota.
Btw Maheshwari classes is a direct parallel to Allen, even the founder looks the same as Maheshwari sir
Also the story of Jeetu bhaiya and prodigy is parallel to nv sir and Bansal classes
The last few minutes of the second season broke my heart 💔
After watching the series one thing is clear that, being successful and being happy are two different extremes.
reasons why i loved Season 1
Vaibhav's Hilarious Rant about inorganic chem and his natural acting too, Jeetu Bhaiya's Charm, Meena's innocent punchlines, Revathi's cuteness #simp, Ahsaas's savage moments, Uday's portrayal of a careless friend we all have and his monologue in the finale. yeah inshort i'm a Kota Factory fanboy
I just went to ur channel to see if the review of this series had come I saw it didn't came then I returned to home page and it refreshed and first came ur video.
leaving everything else this show has to offer, i like it because it inspires you in soo many ways, not only the jitu bhaiya character but also that of other students, how they face certain issues and how they overcome them. Season 2 isn't bad at all and must not be missed ..
Tam to bade fast ho review dene me bhaiya 👀❤️.
Personally why i fell in the love with the show, so much in love, i rewatched it (season 1) multiple times after the original release. The bgm is so perfect, the cast, capture of emotions of an average student is so damn perfect. And the best feature of the show is being black and white. Mayur more's expression go perfectly with the BGM. The supporting casts did a wonderful job too.
I was kinda jealous for not getting a teacher like Jeetu bhaiya, else me to pakka NEET phod ke aata ❤️
I just finished watching this series. The background music and songs at the end were somewhat annoying and I totally skipped it. I didn't go to kota for iit preparation but I did my medical preparations at home and still preparing for med pg exams. Honestly this series felt so relatable after watching frst season, I could literally see myself living in a black and white world. Preparation phase is really a double edged sword for students. Also I didn't think they would show the rank buying system and that one interview in last episode, i didn't know that that too happens. Overall, mazza aaya.
I recently completed MSc in Applied Mathematics with fair good grades but still I get the comments like tumne engineering kyu nhi ki aaj k time mai Bsc MSc kon krta hai😒😒😒mtlb ab kya hi jawab diya jaye....
Tell them "Our business is our business none of your business"....
Jokes aside i have post graduated in mathematics also.you dont need to answer anyone for yours action my friend. Now u can go for PhD or go for data science.....or b.ed and become a teacher ....if you have passion about the subject u did the right thing by not following the trend. Good luck 😄
I am still contemplating to watch it or not..I am class 12 and enrolled in coaching...
All the funny dialogues of S1 and the monologue right now go right through the heart right now...
A NEET aspirant here and high five. Though I want to watch it but agar frustrated ho jayu to?... Like people who aren't sitting for entrance exams won't actually understand what kind of impact this show will have on them...
Bro dekh le 🙂....main dekh ke aya. Matlab bohut zyada dar nahi jayega, but I think this season is good
Just close to 1 million subscribers,... All the veryyyyyyyyyy bestttttt Jammyyy..👍🏻👍🏻
One must acknowledge the quality of cinematography and use bgm throughout the series. It is as good as any oscar winning content. Everything comes next to this
Why I fell in love...First off it's a TVF product.TVF pioneered the culture of web series in India, way before Amazon Prime and Netflix. It produced content for people like me,educated and working middle class. It's content has always been inspirational, unique, with excellent scripts and phenomenal actors.Secondly I lived in Kota for two years for my Med Ent. so yes I can understand why Organic Chemistry is the most illogical subject in science. The nuances of this series can only be understood by someone who has experienced Kota. The super-hero aura around teachers like Bansal Sir and his infamous wheelchair,demi-god worshipping and the fan-following around teachers, weird fetish amongst teachers to create a hero like image to stand out, teachers finishing each lecture with a catch phrase, teachers bitching about other teachers and some teachers putting an extra effort to look charming for a loyal female fan-following.The suffocation felt by students, the gaming cafes, the monotony, finding joy in simple things like BMB's "pyaaz ki kachori" and poha jalebi, horrible landlords, the friendships and last but not the least CAPITALISM...Kota is a memory which you want to forget and remember at the same time."Bacche Kota se nikal jate hai...par Kota bacchon se kabhi nhi nikalta".
The shows has a universal feel to it. Even though i was never an IIT aspirant the show held a relatabilty for me too. I remember while preparing for CLAT the head of my coaching institute gave the same speech as Maheshwari head. I remember going through all the same feelings that are showcased in this show. I didn't have a teacher like Jitu bhaiya to help me guide but all his words of wisdom still help me as a student.
For viewers who actually went to kota or delhi for preparation of iit/medical ..this show hits hard. There are no success or failure stories, rather survival stories. All of us who went there and are either in their dream college/ career or doing something else..we all are survivors. The pressure there is insane.
Ngl I cried tears of both merriment and sorrow in the last episode... I've been through all of this including that suicidal stage in Kota and everything about this web series is based on ground reality. Hats off to the creators! 🤍
I as a teacher.. Found it very refreshing to watch content on education.. Content that is done quite well
