I liked this video! I make overnight oats every week, about 5 bowls at a time. I use 25 gm rolled oats, 1 tablespoon each of ground flaxseed, chia seeds, oat bran, and cacao powder, 1/4 teaspoon each cinnamon, turmeric and ginger, 250 ml of almond milk. I microwave it for 4 minutes, add blueberries and strawberries on top (fresh or frozen), sprinkle a little stevia powder and it's ready. I love it, even in the summer. Thanks for this video!
I heard flax seeds must be fresh ground and eaten immediately (like within ONE MINUTE!). I put 2 Tablespoons in a coffee grinder just before I eat them on top of my oats(or in a salad or smoothie.)
A nice addition for a kind of beefy flavor is Marmite which is a fermented yeast product, I think you have featured it on your show. It has a lot of umami, kind of like miso but a different flavor. Also has a fair amount of sodium, so if that's an issue for anyone, take that into consideration. I also started using wheat germ after reading the book.
Hello hello! Angie from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Im just getting started in WFPB (well, starting AGAIN after a good run a few years back.... but details schmeetails). I love how your videos bring my brain back to to calm when I'm feeling like it's all so overwhelming and too time consuming. You make it seem like everything is just a few easy steps... nothing to get frazzled about.
Hey Angie! So glad we can help calm down the overwhelming and help you to know that you can totally do this. We got you - let us know if you need any tips on anything!
Thank you Jeremy! For your videos and the way you present. So very pleasant! I do have to disagree with the coffee statement. Caffeine is not healthy for us. A better choice would be Dandy Blend.
Hi Jeremy, Lynn from Gatineau, Quebec. I really enjoyed this video. You took something very complicated and made it simple which I love. I thought of buying this book but I don’t have the patience to go through it all. Now that I see how simple it could be , I might reconsider.
Helloooo Jeremy! I really enjoy your channel….I have been watching the vegan/ plant based channels for 8 years (when I transitioned into plant based). You have a GREAT channel! I look forward to following your growth and cooking your food! I’m from Northern Kentucky. 😊
Great video, thanks again for sharing your recipes. If I may make a suggestion..... put a damp paper or cloth towel under your cutting boards so they don't move while you are chopping or slicing food. Will be less danger of cutting your fingers while using the knife. Looking forward to more videos.
It was a great video for me. it’s fun to watch how the kids react to healthy food, but as an adult, I know I’ll enjoy flavors and textures that most kids won’t like. Like the food you made today. So for me 👍
Hey Jeremy! Thank you for these recipes, I can't wait to try the taco salad with the mushroom "taco meat" Also, I met a woman, and we are quickly becoming friends, who made the switch to WFPB years ago. I was talking with her about it, and it was encouraging that she could relate to me with the SAD diet and how addictive and harmful it is. She's going to be a great mentor to me as well. My goal is to go slow so that I don't become overwhelmed and give up again. This month my only aim is to have my breakfasts be WFPB, and then next month ot will be my lunches.
This video is GOLD Jeremy!! Nicely done!!!! Obviously your channel is about a pb lifestyle and your reviews on the abundant information "out there." It seems, however, that you yourself mostly align with Greger's book(s). It would be great to see a series of intermittent videos on how you use all your skills and knowledge to cook and/or create meals to support an aging body that incorporate Greger's findings. Cheers!!
Try 350 grams of mango with 5 grams of hemp seeds on light ice cream. The texture is creamy and mango flavor really comes through. It makes about three quarters of a pint.
🌿🌷🌿 Hi Jeremy, I like this style of presentation... Low key, casual & informative. Also, love that the recipes listed are easier to read. Thanks a bunch 🥕🍅🥑🥝🍇🍌🥬🍄🥦🌶🥕 from Pacific Northwest Washington 🥔🍎🥭🍐🍠
Thanks for all your great information. My plant based diet has been rather monotonous. Trying to find some good recipes to spice it up. Amy Jo, farm raised, from Vermont
The intro to the video was funny 😆 seeing the book upside down. Another awesome video as always Jeremy and family. Love 🥰 the video and love ❤ Jeremy & family.
I’d love to see a deep dive into the principles from how not to diet. I’d also enjoy more “day’s meals” from how Not to Age and HowNot to Die. I’m a fan of yours and Dr. Greger. Thanks from Courtney in Deltaville, VA, population 500, people plus 5,000 boats.
This video was so brilliant. Not to say that your videos aren’t usually brilliant, because they always are😊. But the topic of this and what you did was sooooo good. I find just breaking down something that is so dense in content like a massive book like that one, and seeing how you interpret that and what you made following that, is brilliant. So so so helpful. Thank you. I find your content incredibly helpful and accessible (I’m in the UK and most of the stuff you make and talk about is accessible to us in the UK), so thank you as always. 🎉
Great video once again. I was on the fence between Dr Greger’s books on How not to diet, die or age so I ended up buying How not to diet along with his cookbook of the same name with the thoughts that they would all be similar to a certain degree. I have made quite a few of his recipes and some I have loved and others not so. I make up a big pot of Brol every now and then and use this for breakfasts and mix it up other days with something similar to your Oat breakfasts topped off with your Granola (love your granola recipe) your lunch sounded yummy in this video too. It’s winter here in Oz so it’s Instant Pot soup tonight and a clean out of the fridge. Thanks again.
Thanks Pauline! So glad you love our granola recipe. It's my biggest staple probably. I used to have BROL in my regular rotation too. Need to whip up a batch!!!
Hi, it’s Marsha from Hazerswoude-Dorp, the Netherlands. Great to see a new video again. Love them! Also reading How not to age. Great to see some matching recipes😋
I used to live like this. I am loving my banana split summer. I eat whatever I want now and I intermittent fast. Honestly, I look way better than when I did sooooo much work.
Thanks for the idea of using okara in the "nice cream." I'm going to try that tonight in our VitaMix. I haven't tried making tofu, but I do make soymilk once or twice a week. We make some delicious okara ricotta and sometimes okara burgers or cookies with it. I look forward to your videos each week. Thank you!
Just looked up Dr Greger, to see if there is a cookery book associated with this, it seems not? Only with 'How Not to Die'. Been looking at Dr McDougalls diet, he has a cookery book, any opinion on that? Love your vid's thanks.
Lol. About to watch your video and saw Portland Head Light -the lighthouse-and that is in Maine. LOL! We were first, its hard for most people to remember and Portland, Oregon is very nice too, just no ocean. Now on to your video. I eat a mostly vegan, mostly low oil diet trying to get in as many fresh or frozen fruits and veggies. I also fast-ish 2 days a week. I stay between 500 and 800 calories on those days mostly through fresh fruits and veg. I'm finding it is helping me lose weight at a really healthy amount. I am making more mindful choices and my regular days and really savoring any of my choices. I also work at 30 chews per bite. All of this is helping me absorb and digest far better no matter what I eat! My vices are gummies, BK Impossible whopper (2 a month!), and chips which I now make in my air fryer. I am also experimenting with making my own sourdough. Your's is so beautiful! I will have to look and see if you have a lesson making that! Thanks for your work. Viewing from Portland, Maine.

I recently found you on youtube and I love your content. May I ask what brand of soybeans you use to make tofu? I recently bought a miomat milk maker and the soybeans I bought have a bitter taste.
It's unnecessary, IMO. It's calorically dense and packed with saturated fats. I'd rather get my fats from whole foods. And anything oil can do I've been able to find a substitute for in a healthier package.
@@sorachi295 Sure - but you can get the same health benefits just from eating olives and the added bonus of the fibre. 1 tbsp of ANY oil is 100 calories. Should combine turmeric with black pepper, no?
Eh..I recently heard a doctor say it does not matter.
