I just wanted to thank you Aaron, I started playing in Gen 8 and watching you and many others ignited a fire in me. I started battling, won a couple big tourneys, started streaming, and finished top 150. But after series 10, I put it down. Wasn’t feeling the final few season formats. Then life happened, got married, had another baby, and work became priority. Been watching all your new gen 9 videos, and started battling again this month. Still don’t have time like I used to, but I used a bunch of your teams you showcased and finished the climb with this team to master ball going 26-11. Thank you for still being here, for the new player, and the players who came back for some content and reignited the spark like me with this new gen. I appreciate your videos and hope you see this buddy!
Wow, thank you so much for the comment man. Congrats on the marriage and the child, wishing your family good health and all the best! Thank you so much for coming back and for watching the content, and really glad it could help 💙
I just saw this team on Twitter and thought "man this is a cool team", Aaron is getting on these things fast haha! As a side note, a ton of people asked for me to make a slither wing team and I've actually got an idea rolling. I'll try running it in season 3 and if I feel like I'm getting some good success (like equvilent to my valient team) I may have ro run it by Aaron again lol. Speaking of my valient team, I find opponents are respecting my WP goldengo a lot now giving me more free damage with it, low key got a buff from it being showcased lol 😂
Love listening to these while I do things in the background! Love that your commentary is so engaging that I don’t even have to be watching the screen to pay attention!
Aaron i just wanna say thank you for everything. You have always been my main guy for pokemon. You got me through a lot of hard times since like 2016 and Made me want to get into VGC and even though my dreams of going to Nationals is over. Its nice to watch you play and see the meta playing with friends and family. I Teach them about strategies. Hoping one day i can have a kid and teach them everything about Pokémon. I know we don’t know each other but from the bottom of my heart Thank you.
I wanna see a flying-type eeveelution. big flappy ears as wings is too funny not to do for stats, probably a fast special attacker with tailwind support. would also be cool if it had a strong way to use its speed to lower opponent stats before they get a chance to act, something like icy wind or snarl (or maybe a new signature move!)
That's what I was thinking, a speedy Glass Cannon of a Special Attacker, maybe have the Hidden Ability be No Guard (I was initially thinking Aerilate, but that would be too similar to Sylveon). Name could be "Aeoleon" (-eon because it's an Eeveelution, Aeol from Aeolus, the "Ruler of Winds" from Homer's Odyssey). Going further, since the Eeveelutions all have the same stat numbers (60, 65, 65, 95, 110, and 130) shuffled around, I could see Aeoleon having a stat layout of 95 HP, 60 Atk, 65 Def, 130 Sp.A, 65 Sp.D, 110 Spd.
Steel, normal, dragon, ground, rock, bug, flying, ghost. I've wondered about these for a while now. They made the newest typing into an Eeveelution with Sylveon, so, where are the rest at??
I want to say thank you Aaron Cybertron! These videos helped me so much I just made Master ball tier currently 3k rank but I made it from your knowledge and experience
I loved using Umbreon in series 12- foul play + snarl matched up well into every restricted other than Zacian and helping hand allowed my own Kyogre or Calyrex-S pick up knockouts on Zacian.
It is so SO clear we were meant to get a Dragon Eeveelution this gen, I mean Penny even gives you the Draco Meteor TM for God's sake! Draconeon...the wordplay writes itself!
Also, thank you for these kinds of videos, explaining your logic behind all the choices... I don't really do competitive pokemon because it's all a bit too much 4D Chess for me, but hearing the thought process helps me learn.
QOTD: I'd like to see a Dragon Eeveelution, maybe some sort of "primal" Eevee, could very well be like a Paradox form. In that case a futuristic Steel eeveelution would make sense as well, maybe as part of the DLC for SV?
I would make a dragon type eeveelution because of the original physical special split (prior to gen 4) physical/special was determined by type. Currently the types that were special attacks are every eeveelution + dragon, so I think dragon should get an eeveelution as it would round out the "every special attacking type" from the first 3 generations!
For the QOTD, I've always wanted a normal type eeveelution, but with its own ability similar to protean. I'd want it to be an equal attack and sp.attacker, with most of the same moves as it's other eeveelutions.
Right at the beginning of game 3 when your opponent went for the tera on flutter mane I thought "wouldn't it be funny if it was dark tera" but I didn't expect it to actually happen
QOTD: Ideal Scenario: I'd not make a new eeveelution, i'd make a counterpart pokemon that can evolve into the remaning half of types. Seen this concept simlar to gengar/clefable style. Alternative: Eevee with a dragon evo with the opposite design to sylveon being more about anger/hatred rather than love. A design relying on spiky design simlar to gen 5 mons. Evolution would be either the pokemon disliking the trainer or learning a dragon move. (give eevee the ability to learn a few weaker dragon moves for it)
QOTD: If I were to make an Eeveelution I would make it a dragon type simply because then there would be an Eeveelution for all the special attacking types pre-physical/special split. It's not a particularly practical reason, but it's really appeals to me.
I admit, I likely would have messed up the last game being too tempted by the possibility of Moonlight+Multiscale Umbreon and then gotten sad when it turned out to be inner focus, but then there's a reason you're the pro between us two.
Ooooooh, Umbreon is my absolute favorite pokemon and I'm always happy to see it in VGC, loved it in some of the SwSh battles on sun teams. I may have to try this one out. QOTD: I'd really love to see a dragon-type Eevee as well as a Flying Eevee. An eevee whose fur gets all fluffy and curly like wings (stylized somewhere between togekiss and altaria) would be really cute
I've got a couple of Eevee ideas that are, admittedly, a bit unhinged. 1) Chameleon - Dragon typed - Colour Change/Protean - Evolves when traded while holding a dragon scale 2) Millieneon - Normal - Adaptability/Speed Boost - Obtained when transferring an Eevee, caught in a game released before the year 2000, through Pokémon Home to an applicable game
Would you mind explaning the EV spread on umberon? Im still very new to competitive games and im just curious what matchups that tiny bit of speed or even tinier bit (lol) of spatak is working in our favor. Amazing video and have been having a blast with this rental team, thanks so much for sharing this
The second i saw the title, i immediately got excited. I would love you to try a pachirisu team Aaron, i love the content you do, I wanna see it. Funny story, i made team with umbreon, and thats literally the umbreon set im using on showdown. QOTD: Steleon, steel type, with 2 abilities, earth eater as a hidden ability and synchronize.
QOTD: I'd personally love a Poison type evolution as it would be a fun little counter to Sylveon who is by and large the best eeveelution competitively. For stats I think it should be a bulky attacker, something like 110/60/95/130/65/65 for the stats, letting it take hits and fire off strong Sludge Bombs, maybe it could get Corrosion or Toxic Debris as a fun ability too!
QoTD: Tungsteon, the Durable Pokemon. A common companion amongst miners, Tungteon's body is near-impossible to scratch or dent, and is strong enough to even crush diamonds in its jaws. Referring to how tungsten carbide is a material with a strength to rival that of diamonds and is known for being incredibly strong, but occasionally brittle, Tungsteon would have the abilities Steely Spirit and Strong Jaw, though which would be the hidden ability I'm not sure. As for stats 65 HP, 130 Atk, 110 Def, 60 SpAtk, 95 SpDef, and 65 Spd would be the base stat distribution I'd give it, something that's bulky (like Umbreon) but actually has the capacity to fight back. I'd also want to give it (and other Strong Jaw pokemon) a steel move in Shredding Bite, a base 80 physical move with a 100% chance to lower the target's defense.
QOTD: Do a past and future themed one, that look and feel like paradox pokemon. Make them dragon and steel or something. You could even give them similar colour schemes to the cover legendaries, although I'd maybe stop short of calling them Koreon and Mireon. Oh, and they evolve while holding the King's Rock and Metal Coat, because they're classics and there is no need to reinvent the wheel (pun intended).
I’d have to agree with a light-decent 6 on this project. Definitely not their best piece of work but there were a couple tracks I like quite a bit and only one or two skips. This is coming from someone who’s favorite song of all time is Empire Ants btw
I made some Poison Tera Umbreon teams in series 1 because Umbreon had some nice matchups (and yawn was still slightly useful in a non Dmax format) but this is super neat. QotD: Eeveelutions follow some strict rules in both stats and movepool so it’s kinda annoying, but I can try to make it work. Time for an essay. Stats: 130/110/95/65/65/60 are what eevelution has in a different order, so I had to use these. Optimizing for glass cannon or defense is better here. Typing: Pure Steel is best, but Ghost is a close second and I prefer it. Flying and Dragon would also be cool (Dragon also following the every Eeveelution type barring Fairy was Special before the split), was also thinking Fighting so it could get Body Press and maybe an ability to patch up Fighting’s admittedly meh Defensive typing. Ability: I wanted to make something called Iron Debris (Toxic Debris but with the Steelspike Rocks from Gmax Copperajah), but Steel movepool is too shallow so. Wispeon 130/60/110/65/95/65 Ghost Type Ability: Cursed Body / HA: Voodoo (Either Fixed Damage dealt to the opponent is doubled from any source, like Night Shade or anything that will deal Damage over Time (Burns or Curses) will get +3 priority (like Triage)) Notable Ghost specific moves - Shadow Ball - Will-o-Wisp (haha) - Night Shade - Curse (well not really but also yes) - Hex - Might be allowed Trick Room?
Do you think the dragonite build in the previous team that won internationals would run better on this team? I just feel like indeedee is counter intuitive to this dragonite build - what does everyone think?
rental code is incorrect in the description just had to lyk found the correct code on the twitter post in the description. regardless enjoy your content and take advantage of these rental teams its fun to switch it up
Hey Aaron, loved the video as usual. In game 3, when you went for the Tera-Dark Dark Pulse, I think you may have forgotten that you were at -1 from the Spirit Break already :P, which means it would not have killed anyway. Well played in general though as usual!
Eevee deserves an evolution for every type, however, I have always thought Eevee should have a normal type evolution that is meant to be it's original evolution without changing types. I would give it protean or libido as an ability since it makes sense for it to still have a multi type theme, or maybe a new ability that boosts it's electric, water and fire moves by 1.5? IDK there is so much room for imagination here, love all the eeveelutions
I have no idea how but I actually predicted that turn 1 play from the opponent in turn 3(even when you said maybe he Dazzling’d I was like, “maybe they Imprisoned to stop TR”) and I’m flabbergasted makes me wish someone was with me for that one
QOTD Name: Bludgeon Type: Ghost Pokédex Entry: The old mansion had been abandoned for years, but rumors of a ghostly creature lurking inside kept the locals on edge. One night, a group of teenagers dared each other to explore the mansion, but they soon realized they were not alone. As they ran from the Bludgeon’s haunting howls, they realized too late that they were being led into a trap.
QOTD: I’ve been saying that a dragon eeveelution is inevitable since Gen 4. My reasoning is because every eeveelution was a dedicated special type before the physical special split. The only exception is Sylveon, a Fairy type, which didn’t exist in Gen 3. The only special type from Gen 3 that ISNT an eeveelution is dragon type. It would just be so satisfying to complete the list. Also, I would like to see it be a bulky physical attacker with Sheer Force, Moxie, or Dragon’s Maw. Those abilities just feel like they’d make sense on a dragon eeveelution
Season 1 soon as rank came out, Umbreon got me to masterball and I didnt even understand most of the new threats like dondozo or armarogue. Ever since I've only built teams with Umbreon in them and it definitely fits well (I tried Tera steel calm mind and Tera poison)
If I'd make an Eeveelution, it would be the fighting type one. Eevee would be able to learn High Jump Kick to evolve. As for the stat spread, it would be the physical version of Sylveon, so a decent HP stat with physical defensive bulk and enough of an attack stat to retaliate back hard. As for an ability I would give it Scrappy as it's normal ability and Stakeout as it's hidden ability. Of course this Eevee would have a more aggressive personality compared to the other Eeveelutions to make sense out of its abilities.
Unrelated, but I really wish eeveelutions got more moves. I’m running a team consisting only of eeveelutions and the limiting factor is simply not being able to answer things well given the movepools. Just giving them follow me for example would make my life so much easier. Another thing is they get a few moves related to their type and nothing else. My entire team is suffering from 4 move syndrome because if I want a certain move I need a specific mon. For example, flareon is the only one that gets will-o-wisp. Tera helps a bit as it can give me coverage into certain matchups but it’s not something I like relying on. On the flip side, the restrictions force me to get creative with the sets, and at least for Bo1 ladder matches it tends to work out well. I got to master ball with it under both rulesets with minor changes. It’s quite fun to use, albeit much harder to use than your standard team. I’ve actually gone up against the winning Oceania team twice and won both times since I knew the sets and could work around it with my limited options.
Eeveelution idea: type: Normal Ability: Unaware/Moody Hidden ability: Filter Colors: Delcatty main color. The secondary would not be purple tought. Obtain method: Level up without any items and with ability removed (skill swap, neutralizing gas, etc) STATS: HP: 130 ATK: 95 Def: 65 SpATK:65 SpDef:60 Spe:110
Low Kick would've been 60 BP from the Tyranitar, as Umbreon is 59.5 lbs/27 kg, just over the line where it jumps from 40 to 60. With Tyranitar's weight of 445.3 lbs, though, Umbreon is just 13.3% of Tyranitar's weight, so those Heavy Slams were coming out at 120 BP. Just in case people really wanted to see numerically how tanky Umbreon is, haha.
Another thing abt umbreon is if u switch commander off tatsugiri then there forced to switch tatsugir8 out to get commander again giving u a better position if they do so and if they don't dondozo canr do much being built supposed to have plus 2 in all of its stats
For the QOTD I actually made my own eeveelution for a new "gem" type called Krypteon. I made for my pokemon fan game called Pokemon Star Prodigy I made 2 years ago. It was primarily a mixed attacker but had a signature ability that I made up which gave an iapapa berry effect when it's hp fell below 25% for the first time only.
I ran into this Umbreon on the ladder at around 23,000. The player only beat me because time ran out on the clock, I was going to pp out their umbreon's foul play but dumb clock. It was Umbreon vs my Volcarona.
@@CybertronVGC Yes! I won't make it to those, but hopefully we get to catch you on a featured game. Regardless, huge fan of your play style, go get em!

What with Penny giving you Draco Meteor and all, I was really expecting there to be a new Dragon Eeveelution... especially since Gen 8 was the first even-number Gen that didn't introduce a new Eeveelution
The amount of times I've had perish teams rage quit over me using Skill Swap to steal Shadow Tag is ridiculous. I also run Taunt on my Umbreon instead of Moonlight, so they can't avoid it with Protect spam.
Dragon Eeveelution Name: Dracoreon Ability: Dragonborn - Makes Super Effective Dragon type moves against Dracoreon do 1.5x instead of 2x BST: HP 90/Atk 60/Def 75/Sp. Atk 110/Sp. Def 75/Spe 115 (525 total, in line with the other Eveelutions) That's what I came up with for an Eeveelution!
dragon eevee. I would give it proper special attack version of intimidate to add utility. And then for attacks I would give it a special version of foul play. Both don't exist yet and would be fun and add utility. Just lost to this team as well

Wispeon
130/60/110/65/95/65
Ghost Type
Ability: Cursed Body / HA: Voodoo (Either Fixed Damage dealt to the opponent is doubled from any source, like Night Shade or anything that will deal Damage over Time (Burns or Curses) will get +3 priority (like Triage))
Notable Ghost specific moves
- Shadow Ball
- Will-o-Wisp (haha)
- Night Shade
- Curse (well not really but also yes)
- Hex
- Might be allowed Trick Room?
The opponent in game 3 read you like a book, damn.
Do you think the dragonite build in the previous team that won internationals would run better on this team? I just feel like indeedee is counter intuitive to this dragonite build - what does everyone think?
rental code is incorrect in the description just had to lyk found the correct code on the twitter post in the description. regardless enjoy your content and take advantage of these rental teams its fun to switch it up
Thanks, it’s fixed!
Hey Aaron, loved the video as usual.
In game 3, when you went for the Tera-Dark Dark Pulse, I think you may have forgotten that you were at -1 from the Spirit Break already :P, which means it would not have killed anyway. Well played in general though as usual!
I'm a simple Naoto Mizobichi fan...
I see Umbreon, I get hyped
Love theses videos you make👍🏿
I would really love a bulky poison type Eevee. Especially if it could learn Hex, Toxic, and other status moves. Basically full support.
your game 3 opponent was switching so much, they made it seem like they're playing smogon singles lol
Aaron content with five games? Time to get some snacks and sit down for the show.
This Umbreon was on my S1 team. When it works, it really works.
1 hour video love to see it
I have no idea how but I actually predicted that turn 1 play from the opponent in turn 3(even when you said maybe he Dazzling’d I was like, “maybe they Imprisoned to stop TR”) and I’m flabbergasted makes me wish someone was with me for that one
No trick room!? might have to bring out my shiny!
dude from game 3 lost to trick room indeedee armorouge one too many times 😭
I would love to see a ghost type eeveelution the most 😫 but a dragon eeveelution would be awesome too
QOTD
Name: Bludgeon
Type: Ghost
Pokédex Entry: The old mansion had been abandoned for years, but rumors of a ghostly creature lurking inside kept the locals on edge. One night, a group of teenagers dared each other to explore the mansion, but they soon realized they were not alone. As they ran from the Bludgeon’s haunting howls, they realized too late that they were being led into a trap.
i cant even count how many times ive won games in SwSh and SV with moonlight umbreon being on the feild the whole time
Umbreon is my favourite pokemon. Nice seeing it doing well in VGC
Love to see umbreon in the 1 one spot
Keeping an eye on this team because I suspect Umbreon will have a niche in Regulation C - to Skill Swap the Ruin Pokémon.
Eeveelution idea:
type: Normal
Ability: Unaware/Moody
Hidden ability: Filter
Colors: Delcatty main color. The secondary would not be purple tought.
Obtain method: Level up without any items and with ability removed (skill swap, neutralizing gas, etc)
STATS:
HP: 130
ATK: 95
Def: 65
SpATK:65
SpDef:60
Spe:110
I'm glad that umbreon is doing well considering they took away payback heal bell and toxic it felt like gamefreak hates my boy
QOTD: it would be nice to have another physical-attacking Eeveelution. i'll say Fighting-type, 110/130/65/60/65/95, Scrappy (HA Justified)
Why is the order in which he reads the opponent’s team different than the simple top-down read? Does he see something different than us?
Omg I’m another Umbreon fan in the comments so thanks for this vid 🤙
what if only one eevveelution got a dual typing? What two types would a eeveeultion have that makes the most sense
I ran into this Umbreon on the ladder at around 23,000. The player only beat me because time ran out on the clock, I was going to pp out their umbreon's foul play but dumb clock. It was Umbreon vs my Volcarona.
You going to compete this year, Mr. Cybertron?
Planning on playing in Vancouver and EUIC at least!
@@CybertronVGC Yes! I won't make it to those, but hopefully we get to catch you on a featured game. Regardless, huge fan of your play style, go get em!
Bladeon
Type: Steel
Ability: Battle Armor | Hidden: Overcoat
Notable Level-Up Moves: Iron Head, Iron Tail, Gyro Ball, Iron Defense, Metal Burst
HP: 95
Attack: 110
Defense: 130
Sp. Atk.: 60
Sp. Def. 65
Speed: 65
Level up with a candy near a certain shiny metal meteorite in the region that nobody can mine(has broken every pick and drill that ever touched it) and refuses to rust even after having fallen hundreds of years ago.
Sprite color would be polished iron, shiny would be polished brass.
Can I use Umbreon to build around Greninja and yes ik Greninja is also a dark type lol
Dragon Eeveelution
Name: Dracoreon
Ability: Dragonborn - Makes Super Effective Dragon type moves against Dracoreon do 1.5x instead of 2x
BST: HP 90/Atk 60/Def 75/Sp. Atk 110/Sp. Def 75/Spe 115 (525 total, in line with the other Eveelutions)
That's what I came up with for an Eeveelution!
dragon eevee. I would give it proper special attack version of intimidate to add utility. And then for attacks I would give it a special version of foul play. Both don't exist yet and would be fun and add utility. Just lost to this team as well
Knoxville is going to see at least 1 Dozo with Ability Shield to counter Skill Swap somewhere in top cut. Calling it now
I thought TTar would have won the first battle! Nice!
A fast physical attacker would be new for the eevees. Dunno what type. Fighting or dragon maybe?
Just watched an Umbreon 1v1 a Tyranitar and win. What a game!
