  • The car had a sever oil leaking on bolt which is positioned on the cam belt side and is called Oil Pressure Valve.
Once I test it it was completely loose “voila” I found the oil leak.
I then put the rolls and cam belt back as it was, I changed the washer of the bolt with a copper washer, tightened it… take off all the oil from the engine.
I used 4.55l of Oil Flush for 25 minutes then I flushed it but once I took off the oil filter I could see some minor metal at the bottog the filter cap and a bit of usage of metal.
I cleaned the oil cap, I fit the new filter, I put 5.4l of oil MOBILE Super 3000 0W-20 (high performance) with the inscription VOLVO RBS0-2AE.
I started the engine, I let it run for a while and then stop and start it 2-3 times, THE ENGINE SOUNDED GOOD, loud but good it is a 2015 car.
I took the car out of the garage and I took it for a short ride… I didn’t go faster then 30-40 mhp and after 2 minutes of driving I could hear the knock on the engine.
I got home shortly and I opened the hood… it seemed to me that the knock is on the right side of the engine at the top but I am not sure because I can hear it also at the bottom but I was thinking that I can hear it at the bottom because the noise comes down between the engine and the compartment wall.
Tomorrow I will take the car to the mechanic on a platform to check where the knock comes from.
Does anyone has an ideea about what it could be?
Thanks in advance and I will also post back the answer I will find!

the sound is the same as when the valve PCV is damaged, in this model, the valve is in rocker valve

Hello! People would have been happy if you had shown what was wrong. What was causing the bad sound, in the Video. Thanks! From Tommy Bertilsson from Sweden

Could it be a bad crankshaft pulley?

    Hi what reason of knocking?

On the noise it does, I definitely thought it was one of the tappets so I opened the rocker valve and all tappets were ok.
Then I took off the oil sump and found out that the 3th Big End Bearing on the crankshaft is doing the noise as I could play with it by hand.

      Hi
What was the mileage of the car when this happened?

      Hi,
It has 54k miles, the problem it’s been actually on the crank shaft.
The big end bearing of the piston has been gone, the owner before me has driven the car with the oil pressure valve opened and most of the oil leaked and the bearings started to rub against crankshaft.
I have fixed the bearings but unfortunately I have made the mistake of taking off the injectors to clean them (long story after bearing fixing) and on the end the engine got in flames.

I had the similar issue with my xc60 . It was the Engine balancer cum oil pump.

@@lucasgarage13 I have a knocking on my engine too due to similar issues. I'm intrugued, how did you fix the bearings? I'd be grateful if you could offer advice as info on these engines is hard to come by.
I did a clutch/gearbox job on my V70 so am no amateur mechanic (Engineer by day job). Many thanks!
