We stopped by the Lib Tech booth at the Interlude Snow Show earlier this year and were stoked to see their new offerings. When they told me the Skunk Ape was going to be offered in a camber profile I knew I needed to get on that one. I was fortunate enough to get out on this board for 3 solid runs during the on snow portion of the show. The Lib Tech Skunk Ape Camber is a beast of a snowboard, designed for riders who like their fun-factor large and their boardroom spacious.
The Skunk Ape is designed for the bigger rider as it is offered in 161-170 cm and wide/ultra wide. It’s a directional twin loaded with tech. The camber profile offers edge control and pop, while the Magne-Traction edges allow you to ride with confidence on icy slopes. With the new camber profile, the Skunk Ape is an easy rider and within a few turns I felt at home on this board.
Carving on the Skunk Ape was really fun! The camber and Magne-Traction really locks in, making carves effortless. The wider platform provides stability at high speeds and the rockered nose helps initiate turns smoothly. This was a board that I was able to get on and ride strong right out of the gate.
The Skunk Ape's playful side shines in the park. It's surprisingly poppy for its size, popping ollies and butters with ease. The wider platform offers stability on landings.
Unfortunately I was not able to ride the Skunk Ape in powder as there just hadn’t been enough fresh snow, but I am sure it floats like a dream. With the rockered nose it will effortlessly float above the pow and the wider platform provides ample surface area for staying on top.
    Overall:
The Lib Tech Skunk Ape Camber is a true all-mountain weapon, built for riders who demand performance and versatility. It's not the lightest or most nimble board, but its stability, pop, and float make it a blast on any terrain. If you're a bigger rider who likes to charge hard and play big, the Skunk Ape is definitely worth checking out.

I just got it & it rips. Feels a little stiff but it probably needs to break in. Great review!

Thanks for the kind words. I loved this one vs the C2.

@@oldguysriptoo couldn’t even look at it after riding this… Got rid of my T Rice Pro because I just can’t get into C2. Was on a Yes SBBS but I’m trying to keep it nice saving it for powder days as they’re not making anymore.
