Minnie Driver on The Serpent Queen, Her Next Album, and Coldplay’s “Sparks”
Minnie Driver joins Kyle Meredith to talk about her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I on the season season of the Starz series, The Serpent Queen, starring opposite Samantha Morton’s Catherine de' Medici. The actress tells us why she sees The Virgin Queen as “a woman of appetites” who was always in control, the historical liberties within the story, and creating a rock ‘n roll version of the icon. Speaking of music, Driver goes on to reveal which songs she soundtracks for the Queen, her own plans on doing a fourth album soon (it’s been a decade since her last LP), and what it was like to have Chris Martin dedicate “Sparks” during a recent Coldplay show.
