Saying NVIDIA isn’t an AI company is world class hubris. They publish more research papers and foundational models than some universities and build the hardware to optimize them. They also routinely contribute to the ai community with ground-breaking API’s and related tech that advance the field. I don’t think Niko is remotely qualified to engage in this conversation at any level. 🤦🤣🤦

DAZ Studio takes advantage of features in the Nvidia Iray to generate high definition renders. Nvidia might not be crafting games software but their tools enable game characters and other 3D art in games and video advertising and other digital art. Still, not the same as designing and producing and marketing games, so I have to agree, not a game company, either.
AI compute has yet to be optimized, in hw. NVDA is making that happen, so are half the AI opportunities. Will they go Grok, as Tesla has? ADS? Not so much from lack of realtime fleet data miles.
When you say it only takes a teenager a couple hours to learn to drive you are forgetting omitting their entire life of data gathering. Object 3D space, physics, object permanence, occlusion, soo many things are just picked over time. You get a 16 year old that grew up in a cave with no language or anything and it would take them a LONG time to learn to drive.
Nvidia also offers their clients software to develop their AI applications. They're selling a platform to humanoid robot companies to train their robots. They're selling their self driving hardware and software platform to carmakers who want to have a crack at autonomous driving. That said it's just semantics and ultimately pointless debating whether or not to call Nvidia an AI company. The important part is that they have the best silicon in existence for AI applications. Without them GPT and FSD end to end and Llama would not be possible.
That’s correct! They literally offers other car companies the exact same thing as FSD but they use more Ai generated simulations instead of live action.

I'm all for performance based pay. People who do excellent work should be rewarded for it. That said, explain to me why one person should be compensated more than all the profit the company has ever generated. Not only that, but he wants another pay package of similar size under threat of taking "AI" away from the company. Why? So that he can have enough shares? Maybe he shouldn't have sold them. Maybe he should take responsibility for that decision, and not try to make shareholders pay for it.
I didn't know about the comp package when I invested too, to me it's the dumbest package ever written by any board. You shouldn't just be able to hit a target and then plument in a death spiral and say you hit the target? That's quite ridiculous. Whoever wrote that should be fired

Well look at it this way... Elon's compensation is 500x Jensen Huang's (Nvidia) compensation and 10% of Tesla's market cap - it is excessive (for a public listed company). Elon has not performed better than Jensen, Nvidia has 30x in last 5-years and Tesla has 15x in the same period. Also, I don't think Elon will leave Tesla. Elon has lot of freedom at Tesla - he is able to freely use Tesla resources for things he wants to do (optimus bot, energy storage, etc...). If he leave Tesla, he will no longer have access to these resources.
"Who wants to work for a company that doesn't believe in you" by Farzad, is a hard comment to swallow in my opinion on a human level. Thinking about the whole supercharger team that got fired. Imagine being someone working with your heart and soul for several years then being layed off. So if you are elon it's ok to feel human and let down if ppl don't vote for you, but he did that with probably a whole team of 'smaller elons'?

About AI ability to drive in a new context --> You guys are forgetting that the neural net and actual AI is not in the car. It takes us a couple of minutes and then half an hour to get comfortable driving a new car in a new country. FSD is just uploaded software, it is not doing the learning and fine tuning in the car, like we are in our brain. So for every country, there needs to be a beta system, tons of video data collected, processed, and a new model formed. This process will be faster and faster with more computing power at home base, but it will never happen in the car, like it happens in our head. So roll out will not be instant but will have a nice steady pace imo.

If we continued to base wealth estimates on cash in circulation it would give the false impression of an economy in failure. Stocks have that very problem. Dojo is focused on a specific task of self driving. However once the task has been achieved and the architecture and rules are established the processing needs of FSD may be met by quite humble processors. The humble fruit fly runs on 50,000 neurones. It can walk, fly, navigate, land (inverted as needed), identify food, process visual input from its compound eyes, identify threats, take evasive actions, recognise own species, identify opposite sex, perform mating rituals, clean itself etc etc. Many of these functions are hard wired but it has enough intellectual plasticity to learn and adapt. All of this in just 50,000 neurones yet with the biggest banks of processors with teraflops of calculations we cannot do a fraction of those tasks because we have yet to learn learn the basic architecture and rules.

Even if Elon leaves Tesla, Tesla still has several years of Elon’s work and data that was collected for more than a decade. That alone could be enough to double the company’s worth over 5 years. So I don’t worry much about his leave if that’s his choice. I am not sure if he can build something better than Tesla anytime soon. Remember OpenAI and Grok?
Nvidia is primarily known as a semiconductor company that designs and manufactures graphics processing units (GPUs), among other products. While Nvidia is heavily involved in the AI space due to the high computational capabilities of its GPUs, it is not solely an AI company. Nvidia's GPUs are widely used in AI applications such as deep learning and machine learning because they excel at parallel processing, which is essential for training and running AI models efficiently. Therefore, Nvidia plays a significant role in the AI ecosystem but is not categorized exclusively as an AI company. -Chatgpt

Apple is an AI company. More examples: Apple’s AI tasks like Face ID, Crash Detection, and ECG monitoring run locally on the device for enhanced privacy and performance due to the neural engine that has been on iPhones since 2017
55 minute mark, well said Mr. M
26:06 all the offices think how is this help past present and future
its like saying caterpillar is a construction/developer company
We might as well call electric companies, computer, and cell phone companies because it powers are devices😂😂😂
Another good point is Jensen said CUDA is a major cost of their hardware. That’s why they get over 70% margin on their hardware.
Cuda and GPU’s is like Tesla putting the FsD hardware in their cars. Nvidia been putting software in their hardware that enables their hardware to handle these work loads like they are. Just like FSD is the real value of Tesla hardware, CUDA is the real value of Nvidia hardware. Nvidia is just as much if not more of a software company than a hardware company and that’s the primary basis upon which I disagree because you’re relegating Nvidia to just hardware. Nvidia omniverse is major.
Great discussion, Farzad.
i've held some TSLA since 2019. I'd vote yes but id like to see some goals or targets to get his money. Like deliver FSD (unsupervised not beta), roadter, 25k car, maybe a certain price on the stock.
Just vote yes and make it happen!
A yes vote to pay Elon is for meeting the requirements for his compensation and he performed. To not pay anyone when they performed is Theft.
@@gregbailey45 I dont know. Maybe Tesla would be better if he took his FSD pipe dream somewhere else? Its been 10 years..
20:12 absorbs all light
Love The Three Tesla Boyz !
Regardless, doesn't mean NVDA hasn't been and won't continue to absolutely crush earnings growth. The fact that their PE is 62 vs Tesla's 45 with a market cap 5 times as big is remarkable. Tesla is gonna take time to start generating real revenue from their biggest future money makers (Optimus and Robotaxi). Meanwhile Nvdia is essentially guaranteed growth from the hundreds of billions big tech and world governments have already pledged towards AI infrastructure
excellent podcast and Nicholas has very good arguments👏👏
Tesla has said they have version 2 of dojo in production
V1.5
NVIDIA IS an AI company, not just a chip manufacturer.
- Example of software created by NVIDIA that are part of the ML stack: CUDA, cuDNN.
- Example of ML models or applied ML from NVIDIA: StyleGAN, NeRF.
It's just that some folks think the only relevant AIs in the world are ChatGPT and Tesla FSD 😏
this goes for everything from transformers, memory, controlers chip, net and data. preformance/watt...
I have two brokers in Aussie Nabtrade and CMC Markets and neither allows me to vote
I'm in the UK
Using Stake (Aus)
Voted.
So, who’s going to be the first RUclipsr to FSD coast to coast? With recent progress v12.4 or v12.5 should be able to achieve it. If not in the first drive… the second or third… would be awesome if they would happen before the investor vote. Can’t chance some investors’ mind to vote for Elon’s package…
Yeah man wall streets lack of knowledge is simply outstanding it’s honestly them just choosing to not want to learn just to have an excuse to shit on Tesla
Sales in may are going to be good.🤑
We got 1 percent financing 😊
On our model Y😮
Salesman said numbers are up 7-8 deliveries a day too....
OVER 20 A DAY😊
I think it is a genius perception of what an AI company is.
Most people have switched to credit and debit cards. Circulating money in the economy has become a thing of the past.
If we continued to base wealth estimates on cash in circulation it would give the false impression of an economy in failure.
Stocks have that very problem. Stocks are still based on a fixed, predictable future.
The future is fluid, making stock values a false profit. Stocks must be valued on the NOW, not the what-ifs of our fluid future.
Microsoft's Azure AI services are pretty cool.. don't think it's just all OpenAI
They just happen to be DISTRUPTING THE car industry
Fail to realize many funds are short Tesla and those will vote NO to force Elon out, lower the share price and buy back at bottom. Shorting should be outlawed, artificially deflates stock. If you don’t believe in company sell, if you do, buy. Whatever happened to supply and demand.
keep it coming guys
I totally agree with Nico. NVDA is not an AI company.
They do the exact same thing with their Ai as Tesla is. The difference is that Nvidia actually are making money from it. Tesla is not an Ai company, not any more then Nvidia or any other company.
Big Partnership Announcements should be shared costs but advertised… That’s Winning! 🏆
That and the shareholders. 🥂😎
Who's the poster behind Nic's noggin? I'm trying like a meercat.
Nvidia invented CUDA which is the language of Ai. So yes they are an Ai company.
Google invented the transformer architecture, so yes they are too
5:11 yeah that's right sounding
I’m as much a Tesla fan as anyone but let me tell you, nvidia does a ton of stuff with Ai. Research them more.
Apple is an AI company. Examples for the photos area alone include: Deep Fusion for low-light photography, Portrait mode for depth effects, and Visual Look Up to identify objects, text, and scenes in images, smart albums, memories, and personalized recommendations.
This ain’t enough
@@eshaansangodkar7534 Apple also uses AI in Music and Podcasts - Apple AI curates personalized playlists, music recommendations, and podcast suggestions based on user listening habits and preferences. For Maps and Navigation Apple AI improves route suggestions, traffic predictions, and location-based recommendations within Apple Maps.
@@eshaansangodkar7534 Apple creates DEV AI tools like Core ML and Create ML for developers to integrate AI capabilities into their apps, enabling intelligent features like activity tracking, language translation, and object recognition.
The term AI company is just silly at this point. Cloud providers will be the only ones that will be able to create foundation models due to costs.
Did Kodak develop their digital technology to be compatible with compression technology (jpeg 2000)??
Such a fantastic podcast
😆🤪 I bought high but are not going to sell 😜 and I have voted yes. I hope all in “my camp” do the same 🤪 Thanks to you guys !!!
A 40x increase in speed is amazing and honestly we're already approaching fundamental size limits with microchips so seeing a 40x increase in speed is pretty good... look at Nvidia and what they're doing to get more speed but not making smaller chips they're going bigger now... we have reduced to near the smallest scales we can... so this 40x increase is very promising
There is a turd fest and a need fest. You gentleman never disappoint. Always learning more from all of you. Total deluxe Nerd Fest
The best.
yay.... "All in Podcast", big fan.
8:11 be helpful videos of education and send them to un triangulate the logic of content construction, it's like we were pixelated
Nvidia makes AI driven solutions possible right now. Investors know many companies will work on AI solutions and many will fail, but they will all be buying from NVIDIA until someone else can compete in the hardware space.
From what I understand we need only one 10x more before Watt in and heat out is almost imposible.... so now we think compute/sek/dollar. But now we need to think compute/watt, becourse watt in and out becomes the limitting faktor...
Im I right?
If AI is a house. NVIDIA is cement.
43:03 yes that's exactly why we want to bring people help at farms ranches fisheries construction sites homecare providing agencies replace all the other stuff that costs hospitals money and figure out what happens to bring us in the first place resolve and prevent that too
Even if Elon leaves Tesla, Tesla still has several years of Elon’s work and data that was collected for more than a decade.
-Chatgpt
Nvidia not being an AI company, is the spiciest of takes. Has he never heard of Omniverse or CUDA? If Nvidia creates FSD for the rest of the auto industry….so if all AVs are run by Tesla or Nvidia Orin…Nvidia has some of worlds leading AI models I promise you.
the first sentence from the guy in the pink shirt is insane. Nvidia has been releasing research papers for years. they pre-date the hype that came after OpenAI. wild to not know that.
These types of arguments are mindless. You can create whatever definition of "AI Company" you want to suit your argument.
i believe leo already posted an image of his "No" vote.
I want Farzad to just start a video as usual all nonchalant but with a baby behind him.
NVIDIA not being an AI company is wild. Like saying Intel is not in the computer business.
