  • 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡 - 𝟰𝗪𝗗 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 - Can We Fix It? 🤔 Or Is She Done? ☠️
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    Sorry for missing a slot last week - Slightly out of our control. However we are going to more than make up for it with some 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝟰𝗪𝗗 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 that you all seemed to love! ❤️
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    This time we take a deeper look into the 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙨, 𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙨, 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙄𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚𝙨 with the 𝟰𝗪𝗗 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗧 that we recently purchased. This AWD Monster is an amazing car, but as many of you pointed out in the comments of the last video, comes with a few niggly issues 🥴
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    So we started to address the 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙡 and the 𝙑𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙮, a few other bangs, plus the 𝘿𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙋𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚... But who knew the other issues we would be met with along the way! 🤪
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    𝙎𝙤, 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝟰𝙒𝘿 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧? Or can we save it? Is it really a solution or just a temporary fix? 🤔
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    Time to '𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁' and 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗻? The sole intention was to borrow bits for the Mk3 Focus RS 2.5 Project after all....
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    If you enjoy this sort of content then please consider 𝙎𝙪𝙗𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙜 ❤️ it doesn't cost, and also 𝙃𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙄𝙘𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 🔔 𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙑𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙤 👍

    Ouch that’s frustrating guys🤦‍♂️, like some mentioned the Milwaukee right angle drill is great and there straight shank thunderweb drill bits 👌🏼 saved me a few times with the old hi-tensile stud or bolt 😂.
    Think I’ll be changing my manifold studs to the anembo stainless steel set I came across, if it’s a common fault 😬, look forward to thursdays instalment 👍🏼

    Wish I had requested new hardware when replacing the exhaust gasket earlier in the year. After all that I now have boost control issues on the actuator/waste gate. So the whole lot will be coming off again. Can't wait to get everything running properly and add a tune. Where is my stage Zero gang at?

    Cant see why you have to scrap/break the car just because you have to drop the engine.It's not like you put a rod out the block or something.

    • @BDPerformanceWrexham
      @BDPerformanceWrexham  3 года назад

      We don’t but if we did start stripping; we wouldn’t put it back as it was. It makes more economic sense to part the car out.
      For us; we have to treat everything as business and if we dropped it - then it just wouldn’t go back as it was…
      Watch the next episode, on Thursday, to see what the outcome was.
      Thanks for taking the time to comment 💙

    Milwaukee do a 90 degree angled drill its a lifesaver not sure if that would fit then use a stud extractor, done quite a lot on the vauxhall zlet engines shite for them snapping aswell

    • @BDPerformanceWrexham
      @BDPerformanceWrexham  3 года назад +1

      We may be switching to the Milwaukee from Snap On going forward. A lot due to cost and variety of tool, longevity and power.
      We will certainly look into it, if and when the time comes.
      Thanks for the input 🙌

    Now I am worried.i assume this happens to standard manifolds from all the heat cycles over the years.question is.are they more likely to snap trying to remove and upgrade.or if they are left alone.??

    • @scottjordan5179
      @scottjordan5179 3 года назад

      Mine's an 06 ST with 113k on the clock and it had 2 bolts snap on the manifold, BD in southwales Fixed it for me when they did my block mod! Drove around with it for about 3 months and other than it being slightly annoying, I didn't notice any other issues.

  • @SMAC364

    Unlucky.
    Do the studs just randomly snap? How often do you see this problem?

    • @BDPerformanceWrexham
      @BDPerformanceWrexham  3 года назад +6

      It’s fairly common on the Focus Mk2, for sure. It’s certainly something we see on a weekly basis now.
      These studs are getting tired and it’s probably something we are going to see more and more of going forwards.
      We may add an option to replace these during work like a Block Mod or engine work. In most instances, during engine work, we upgrade to new non OE Studs and Nuts.
      Great question; thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment 🙏

      It’s the cost vs value more than anything to us.
      For us, removing an engine or a head, just isn’t worth it when the original intention was to part out for other projects.

    Why wouldn't you repair the engine and put it back in? Car must surely be worth nearly £10k if fully operational?

    • @BDPerformanceWrexham
      @BDPerformanceWrexham  3 года назад

      Unlikely to find a buyer at that level for what is just a forged 4WD conversion. It’s likely worth £15k to swap out, sell the car, then sell the parts.

      It’s a question of business sense on this one; if it comes out - it likely parts out for us.
      Just the way the business has always been; things are worth more money in pieces than taking up workshop time.
