@@eliyoder491 I get what you are saying, I think. The doctrine, that which goes beyond the Bible, shouldn't have salvation held as leverage to support it. The thing is, this world, it's as full of as much that will pull a person, a family from God. I'm an outsider from the Amish, never been, bought some stuff and worked around a few, and your insight has certainly been eye opening. But I just wonder about the 2nd and 3rd generations coming off Amish, if they will be as far from Jesus as most of us Anglish are? Praise Jesus, and God Bless you and everyone.
P.S. From some of your vids, I think you'll like this, it's my original Amish joke. 😄
An Amish buggy ran a stop sign the other day and just about hit my car.
I hollered out the window, "hey watch it Yoder"
He said, "how'd ya know my name?"

Amen to that observation .. the world has its own set of problems. Carry your faith in Christ with you for the sake of your children.

I've been out of the cult I was raised in for 12 years and I still make insane mistakes. I'm so glad my husband knows my past and knows to be on the lookout for when it looks like I'm misunderstanding things. Sometimes it feels like I'll never catch up or close the gap :/
(Edit I've been out for 12 years, not that I was raised in it for 12 years. I made my final escape when I was 21)

Probably not unfortunately the damage that happens when you're young tends to be permanent when it comes to social cues and other things that people learn throughout childhood when everyone else is but once everyone is grown it's less acceptable to still be learning those things.

$25 says you made that federal agents day though! Haha that’s pretty awesome! Hey man honestly thank you for being all the education to us about a lifestyle we know nothing about. You think you are just telling stories, but you have a ton of listening ears and fans out there!
FYI. Yea fans are things that blow air but they are also people who like or enjoy celebrities.
    Celebrities are.. are never mind!

It happens. My first girlfriend and I visited my grandparents who lived in Big Bear and we laid down to watch the stars one night. Her mom wouldn't let her take science classes and when I pointed out a satellite she argued that those were holes in heaven. We had to break out the encyclopedia.

You should buy a buggy and put a motor in it, that would be awesome
