One way to make Yangyang a more compelling character aside from redoing her dialogue and her delivery at the beginning of the game, is introducing her own companion quests that focuses solely on her and the Rover. No other characters should be involved, or just very minimal involvement if it can't be helped. She's the poster girl of the game. She deserve at least that much.
Ya Changli for sure needs to be the next premium skin released. With them maybe giving another 4 star a free skin. Changli animations will go insane with a new skin. Hope it is either black, purple or blue flames. Or white.

4-star characters are just destined to be dead last because they barely appeared in main stories and don't have their own companion quests, even the beginning trio (Yangyang, Chixia, Baizhi) hardly have any presence. We literally know nothing about them unless you read the stories in their profile 1.4 should have been a great patch if the featured characters in the dream quests were those underrepresented ones instead of being an advertisement for 5-star girls
Nobody doubts male characters in gacha games. It's just that the majority of gacha players are male and favor female characters more. Especially when expected to spend money on a character.
I mean, Changli is pretty much OP design, gameplay, characterization and at least in JP, voice. Saito Chiwa is (at least for me and I think for quite a few more people) an insta-pull just for voice alone. Some honourable mentions that earn this exact treatment also include: Nao Toyama, Sakura Tange, Nana Mizuki, Rieri and Hanazawa.
I said in some other video i saw somewhere already but again... You will be surprised how much CN, KR, JP, and SEA in general love Male Rover as a character and design. Say what you think about Female Rover, but Asia people have a lot of respect for themselves to even consider FRover's outfit is cloth. While Male Rover drips in the Tech Jacket, with Techwear style for a post-scifi-apocalypse theme. Sure, we don't shy away from fanservice, but for a Main Character to be taken seriously, they must exist in the heads of players with a seroius image. And I swear, taking someone walking around in a swimsuit with 3 pieces glued to it as an important person isn't working out that well. Now that Kuro also confirmed Rover will have no skin duel to how immersive breaking it is to render in real-time Cutscene, you will understand why people just love to look at Male Rover more.

i think for lingyang it's his japanese va that got him more votes than jianxin and zhezi, i've seen it happen a lot when a character is loved way more in japan than in other regions and it's because of their va (say, tartaglia for example)

I'm not certain how these polls are done, but being in lower places does not equate that they dislike the character. Usually the poll asks the respondents to place 3 top characters they like. So, being in lower places actually means that the characters aren't in the top 3 characters people voted for. Also having 26 votes means that there are at least 26 people who placed the character in their top 3. The meaning is completely different if they use ratings/ranking in the poll tho.
Yeah, I addressed this in more detail in the previous poll video, but you're right- lower score doesn't necessarily mean they hate the character, just that they're not as liked as the others.
top 3 are my team running around the overworld lol. some opinion about the ranking, - I think Mrover high in rank because the "gathering wives" feel great with him as MC. - zezhi have such low rank most likely because the constant negativity from NPCs in her overall story appearance. its also barely give any payoff so ended up tiring ppl. there similar character with low self esteem in other gacha games, vikala from granblue fantasy but she popular af there. maybe KURO can learn from her or maybe give payoff for zezhi next time she appear in story. - lumi problem prolly her personality too standard + just brief appearance in 1.4. she prolly more interesting if in story interact with the mouse a lot - yangyang storywise somehow ALWAYS help us on something and somehow never see her busy with her own job/problem like chixia and baizhi. this make her character feel flat and lack of deep - I'm surprise youhou so low despited how expressive she is.
Changli will rerun in 2.1 so i'm excited for a potential changli skin. i'm also curious about the route they will take. pgr route(new skins every patch) or they will make skins in only big patches like 2.0 and there will be very few skins which is the route i don't want.

A great voting poll... i agree with most of it. my vote would def have gone to Geshu Lin - then Jiyan. Changli does have a great design altho i haven't pulled for her. Totally agree with Ryuuku about Xangli Yao design looking a bit mid. Hope the dark version comes out as a skin - i would pay for that. Think some of these characters might be higher if they had companion stories. I personally quite like Mortefi... his abrasiveness is different which i quite like. And yeah... there is a pattern - I like the male resonators

Changli deserve the spot i.m.o. her design is great, her combat style is flashy and easy to use and she gives that mommy vibe that a significant portion of males yearn for. also this is a speculation on my part i think Japanese people like fire elemental characters.

I think Mortefi should have been a standard banner 5 star instead of a normal 4 star but that's cause he and Chixia are both Fire Gunners idk what they were thinking but Mortefi should have been a tiny bit stronger. Chixia is fun but I agree her aesthetic style could use an upgrade.
Lumi is my favorite character right now. I don't care what anyone thinks! I just run around as her for no reason at all. I'll take her Scottish/Irish accent and cute booty over any character any day of the week and mine HITS!
I like characters with a toned down design (like XY), not every character has to be super extra and variety is good. But I agree his attire is a bit too basic (yet the official art where he's wearing casual winter clothing was so gorgeous)

Changli does have a great design altho i haven't pulled for her. Totally agree with Ryuuku about Xangli Yao design looking a bit mid. Hope the dark version comes out as a skin - i would pay for that.
Think some of these characters might be higher if they had companion stories. I personally quite like Mortefi... his abrasiveness is different which i quite like. And yeah... there is a pattern - I like the male resonators

Changli deserve the spot i.m.o. her design is great, her combat style is flashy and easy to use and she gives that mommy vibe that a significant portion of males yearn for. also this is a speculation on my part i think Japanese people like fire elemental characters.

I think Mortefi should have been a standard banner 5 star instead of a normal 4 star but that's cause he and Chixia are both Fire Gunners idk what they were thinking but Mortefi should have been a tiny bit stronger. Chixia is fun but I agree her aesthetic style could use an upgrade.
Lumi is my favorite character right now. I don't care what anyone thinks! I just run around as her for no reason at all. I'll take her Scottish/Irish accent and cute booty over any character any day of the week and mine HITS!
I like characters with a toned down design (like XY), not every character has to be super extra and variety is good. But I agree his attire is a bit too basic (yet the official art where he's wearing casual winter clothing was so gorgeous)

Changli is best 1.x character. Zani is for now the best 2.x character and we barely know anything about her. Heck, I'm more hype for her than Phrolova, and I really want Phrolova.
