    what are your thoughts? did you think it would be expensive or cheap to travel through Egypt

    • @HarlemsPassportPapi
      @HarlemsPassportPapi 2 года назад

      I knew from research that, it really depends on where you stay and which facilities are important to you that depends on what you send the most money on. I honestly think you did pretty well and i'm sure it got better with time!

      Generally, a lot more because I don't earn in dollars and I am comparing it to Tanzania where I am from. That said, i think the accomodation costs seem fair considering that you are on tourist mode and not staying with friends. I'd probably be spending way more in accomodation because I can be picky sometimes. All the best with your travels.

    Great video! Thank you for all the information. I have a daughter who lives in Cairo and I visit for a couple months at a time. I always rent an AirB&B in Madinaty. I love Egypt so much that I have been looking into retiring there in a year. Thanks again for the great content.

      Heidi, I immigrated from Egypt to the US 35 years ago. Retiring in Egypt seams to be a good idea but you have to account for other factors like health care. I wouldn't trust the health care standards there. I live in San Diego (similar weather!), But the cost of living is just crazy. I am struggling with spending $10,000 a month. Stark difference but I can't imagine going back.

    @8:13 I like your graph and breakdown. Eating Western food is probably more expensive than eating local plus there is price discrimination for tourists, ie tourist pay way more than locals for the same items.

    it was very expensive to spend 100$ on the train from Cairo to Aswan next time you should rent a flat in Maadi or new Cairo
    I recommended visiting Aswan and my village weast Aswan in TikTok comment

    • @Paintyourlifestyle
      @Paintyourlifestyle  3 года назад +1

      Yeah it was expensive but I did it for content reasons, the video of that day will come up shortly, the type of traveling doesn’t flow with renting a flat, maybe if I was more stationary in maadi it would make more sense to don that.
      I visited Aswan it’s on my Tiktok and the RUclips video will be up too, your village is weast Aswan ?

      $1000 is my monthly budget for every country I've visited, I’ve shown in the first month I spent under, and in the second I spent slightly over. its completely fair to go to another country thats cheaper and better quality, check my video on the cost of living in turkey, you will be blown away
