    I’m hoping for the best. My question is, if he’s sooo good then why was he coming off the bench?

      You mean why would Calipari do something that makes no sense & bench 2 Top 8 picks like Dillingham & Sheppard? Yep, you can't question the genius of Coach Cal 😉

      Great reply! The sheer volume of lottery picks and first rounders that Cal had over the years and Cal couldn’t win more? Cal great recruiter bad x’s and O’s

      Also, if Reed were 6’6 or 6’7 he would’ve went number one overall .

      @@mr.hester5671 Devin Booker didn't start at Kentucky. Neither did Dillingham. Maybe there's a reason why Kentucky fans couldn't stand Cal & why he left. You do realize Kentucky has a long history w/ Cal of guys who look a lot better in the pros?

    It sounds like the Kentucky fan site was surprised Sheppard went third overall. In-between obligatory praises I heard criticisms of undisciplined defense, shrinking under pressure, doubts about leadership and competitive instinct, even long range shooting consistency. I expected the third overall pick to have less question marks and lower bust potential.

      The dude shot 50 pct from 3. Who is saying he had shooting inconsistencies. Also almost every kentucky fan thought he would go from 3 to 5 in draft. So pretty much every point you said is a lie made up by probably arkansas or some other fans just to troll. Leadership problems? Haha. Not one word has been said about that being a worry. Every point you said, no ky fan or anyone who watched him play never said any of this. He was a great defender but yeh could be over greedy and they get a layup.

      @@ALPHA_OMEGA3 everything I said was based on the interview. The criticisms I heard were between the lines.
      Undisciplined defense: gambles for steals too much
      Shrinking under pressure: didn't perform in big games like the sec championship and the NCAA tournament
      Leadership & competitive instinct: when his mistake cost his team the lead late in one game, he didn't rally the troops and win in overtime, nor did he take over himself. There was mention of him being a blue collar worker, that's code for not being a leader.
      Long range shooting: he shot 37% on 3's in high school, shot 50% one year in college with low volume

    • @garybankston9319
      @garybankston9319 20 дней назад +1

      @@dcc70 He shot 4.4 threes per game. I wouldn't call that high or low volume. Probably just exhibiting good 3 point shot selection. 37% in high school is pretty good. Reed also had 2.5 steals per game at Kentucky. Stone brought him in for a workout and he wanted to scrimmage against some of the Rocket players. That sounds fairly aggressive to me. Ime Udoka likes him and that is good enough for me. I would bank on what Udoka says over an article that says Reed is inconsistent shooting long range. Anybody can have a bad game. I wouldn't judge him solely from one game, the SEC Championship game. The guy is only 20 years old.

      @@garybankston9319 I would love it if Sheppard turns out to be a great player. I think the Rockets would be happy if he turns out to be another Devin Booker. Perhaps one of their young core will step up and take over the leadership role currently filled by veterans like Van Vleet, Brooks, and Coach Udoka.
