I loved Dragnet. But I think they over excaturated some of the story lines

Everything is exaggerated on Dragnet.

I agree .Some episodes were excellent lessons in the dangers of criminality , but others were cringeworthy.Especially the drug themed ones.
The acting in them were wretched ( acting sober while supposedly high, talking to the high characters as if they were coherent)and the stories were over the top
