Hey friends! What's YOUR favorite method of making coffee? In a van or not! We really miss our espresso machine, so we found the moka pot as the best alternative in a van!

I think my Bialetti moka pot is my spirit animal. ;^)

That type of coffee maker makes the best coffee. It looks like a 9 cup brand but 9 cup size is for about about a shot glass of coffee... lol Using a 12 cup one (the largest you can get) will make about two cups of coffee... I like what you did with your van and looking forward to some video's about your life in a van. I imagine you guys just want to live your van life for a while and get used to each other and the van in such a small home. Hope all goes well and you two have a good time.

I really like my Aeropress but I'm a bit wary of using boiling water in plastic so I've recently switched to ceramic pour over.
I'm planning on using a metal kettle (Hario V60 Buono) so if it's nice out and I'm low on power I can still make some coffee using my camp stove!
I'm wondering why you preheat the water?
    Thanks for the vid! :)

Love all those methods. Just give us coffee hahaha. We pre-boil the water because the electric kettle is more efficient at heating water than our stove. It uses 1000w and only takes ~5 minutes to boil, versus our radiant stove that is 1200w and less efficient (due to heat loss). Also, our filtered water can be really cold sometimes, so it would really take forever to get up to temp on the stove. So we just finish the moka pot on the stovetop.

@@ActsofAdventure Cool thanks! I didn't want both (because of lack of space) but it might make sense in the long run! :D
