Well, my frame of reference is reality and verifiable factual statements about reality. With reality in mind it is trivial to show that Putin lies all the time, from stories about the history of Russia to facts about recent times. Just listen to the famous Tucker+Putin interview and count the false hoods presented. Call that "caricature" or not, we can see what is going on.

This is Russia's war and Russians support it as made obvious in many such videos. Unfortunately Mr Galeotti cannot separate his love for Russia from the reality that Russians have been convinced that they are superior to everyone and especially Ukraine. Those who do not think that have already left.
That is a well founded rebuttal but after Russia defeats itself the West needs to step in with a Marshall plan to help support the region building up a less corrupt more democratic society that benefits broadly from the wealth of the nation rather than forming a new serf and master culture as it is today between Moscow and the provinces.
