I LOVE playing medic in this game. Good players will say that the class is useless but the amount of "Thanks doc" when I revive someone and the amount of people happy to see me come to help them makes my heart melt
Indeed, a good medic can go a far way. Especially when that medic is close to their squad leader. Hate to put it this way, but it is essentially an extra life, and when its for a squad leader, that means getting another OP sooner.
Idk if any good player will call the medic class useless.. The amount of time a squad takes running back to the objective is quite a bit, and if you can simply revive them or the SL and keep shit goin, you very much can change the tide of battle. I doubt any GOOD player will say that
I love the 10 second death timer, to get to the 1 min spawn timer, to get to the 15 second wave timer, then you die to artillery within 0.5 seconds for another almost 2min wait.
Haha, yep! Don't forget to add time if you accidentally kill some of your teammates and get punished. If I die after working artillery, sometimes it can take a couple minutes to spawn
Just ask for help on what to do! There are plenty of "veterans" who would love to help you. I did not know how to play and now always play officer because veterans have told me how to play a little and i love sending in my team in a proper small assault to relief the entire team from an enemy push. Definitely recommend it. And to start out please play as a rifleman or maybe a medic. Get to grips with the guns, maps and how to play in general and then move on to other classes. Because those other classes, while maybe having just a different gun like a bar, can have a huge impact on what your squad is assigned to do. Defend a position? Pick an mg maybe and try to hold 1 spot. Flank an enemy position? maybe an Assault class would me more suitable as it will be close combat and have smokes together with your squad leader + medic to push positions. Dont forget to try and place garrisons. This will help you and your entire team from those "30 minute walks".
I'm surprised you didn't mention the "dink!" every time you headshot someone and the pure euphoria you get afterward. But I do agree, killing someone in this game, especially your friends, is the best feeling.
I love this game so much. As someone who grew up playing the old MoH’s and Cod WaW, I’ve always wanted a somewhat realistic WW2 shooter. This game scratched that itch soo good.
I remember in one of my first games, me and my squad managed to totally outflank the enemy and get just behind their spawn and we laid down hell, then after we captured the point the only thing they had left was a tank with busted tracks and we tore into it like a pack of wolves going after a moose. I've never done that good again.
Playing this game with a squad that simultaneous works together and horses around is probably the best gaming experience you could ever have. I got put into a squad like that, and it was the most fun I think I've ever had playing a game.
Hell Let Loose is probably one of the best WW2 games of all time in my opinion. The nothing happening followed by a few moments of chaos before either winning or losing in a split second decision is amazing. There’s also a lot of funny and really badass moments that feel like they’re out of a movie. Pushing to take a point with your entire team and taking cover from constant MG fire behind a tank as you slowly move forward is one of the most realistic experiences I’ll ever have in video games and I love it. Great game, glad you’re playing it Habie, highly recommend to anyone watching!
It's only two times like I felt like I've been helpful in that game. One is when I was running the artillery and shelling the crap out of the enemy, even though I couldn't see what I was hitting, the second was when my squad was the only 1 to hold one of our points until we got reinforcements.
I’ve been watching your vids completely for the past year every time you upload and it’s just a break from my day. I watch every video just once every week yet I remember watching every single one of them. thanks for these chill vids
This video is a masterpiece. It has an in depth story and a great character arc. This video shows how one video out on the internet can change how we grasp our life. It goes through different stages of control, sanity, regret and last of all, beauty. I hope you too like me watching this video had your life changed forever. Thank you for reading this.
This video has me sold! A group of my friends are getting into this game for the first time, I have no doubt now that getting this game myself will be worth it.
My best advice for looking to see enemies is, and i know this sounds weird, or unhelpful/obvious, but look for things that you don't think should be there, or very very small movements, look for small differences in the environment and such, once you figure that little thing out you'll be good
A very rewarding role is Sniper with a good spotter. Very hard/impossible to get when a match starts but when you do... man the liberty and damage you inflict on the enemy is awesome
OK listen hear me out... When I play I somehow become a Battlefield protagonist - I don't mean that as in I'm a god gamer but as in my play style just mashes perfectly with the game so Ill go off on a journey and manage to take out squads with my gorilla tactics, Or I get shot by artillery and my legs get blown off Edit: Playing hunt showdown also helps
Denying the enemy access to artillery is probably my favorite thing to do. Me and a buddy will grab a recon section and infiltrate the enemy spawn and constantly kill the artillery crews as they spawn. I usually finish a match with around a hundred kills, all of which are like the same three guys. Kinda feel bad for them but it keeps the arty off my teams back.
i feel like i am contributing a lot when i play commander lol. also, one time, i was a medic in this squad, and we helped our team chain the last objective since the entire soviet army was like somewhere else
i bought the game and my first match was literally just me running for 5 mins, dying to a sniper i couldnt see, respawning, and doing it all over again. 10/10 i highly recommend this game is fucking sick
I’m about to purchase this game knowing I’m going to die so often. I admire your honesty on the game and your game chat is so funny. I hope to fight at your side one day soon
There are a lot of things I like about the game, but the amount of time out of action and the length of matches is just too much. So I play infrequently. It would be nice if they had a mode similar to the Red Orchestra 2, more medium than huge.
ive started playing this game 1 week ago and cpuldnt stop since. its my daily activity and i love every second of it. great game. and since i love being a squad leader and people dont it works well in my favor
Hell Let Loose is more Arcade Realism. If you want a full on WW2 MilSim, I suggest Post Scriptum. Way more intense and immersive in my opinion. More factions and maps as well. And there's mods.
Ive been playing HLL a ton over the past few months. People seem turned off by the need for teamwork and communication. If you work together with your team, it’s an awesome experience and one I have yet to find in other shooters. Glad to see you giving it some attention!
You need to try Post Scriptum, HHL is based off the game pretty much inspired by it & the need for Communication and team work I would argue is much much higher. I would even say it is more realistic than Hell Let Loose. Define toy recommend it
I can already tell you this game isn't perfect because the dev team don't know how to optimize their game, and they seem to think a leisurely jog is a sprint...
This game has been my favorite game for about a year and a half. Nothing feels better than a well coordinated game of HLL. Talk to your squad, ask questions, and know that garrisons and OPs are the most important part of the game!
“Hell Let Loose is a perfect game” Unless of course you’re effected by the issues with the VOIP service that make it impossible to hear or speak, and which the devs have neglected to fix because that’d require they pay for a voice chat that isn’t garbage, and that might cost them a tiny bit more. Seriously, fuck this game. Devs are too greedy to fix game breaking issues that have been around since launch
god i love hell let loose so much its just walking and maybe getting a kill. honestly one of the most satisfying things is either shooting a guy at long range and hearing the ping of his helmet or sneaking all the way to the enemy base to kill their arty guys and helping your team win
I’ve contributed to my team once and that was when I was a spotter in a tank crew where the driver yelled orders at me for an hour and a half, it was great
Hell Let Lose is such a fun game. My favorite role is playing recon and going behind enemy lines to set up amushes on tanks and rely info to my squad lead and then he relys that to command. On urban maps like Stalingrad I normally drop 40/50 kills as recon. Fun times
ya know habie, you always say thanks to the 3 people who sit through the end of your videos, past the atomic mirror brains, always to skip past it. but i just find myself sitting here enjoy it. hell i cant even afford to be a velvet brain or anythign, but ill still sit here waiting till the end. the videos just make me smile. so thanks. keep on keepin on
I was just thinking how much you'd like hell let loose considering how you liked the ww2 pavlov mod, and now you upload a HLL video. Praise Azura. The stars have aligned to bring me this blessing.
This is the slippery slope for Habie to come join us in ARMA units. Playing ZEUS missions is a lot like this but with a player-ran story behind whatever mission you're on.
i love these types of games. they are just so difficult though. i played Rising Storm 2 Vietnam and loved it but without a good squad or commander, u just get destroyed. these games have steep learning curves
I played a game of Squad that went for about 8 hours. The teams were too even and I recall the server taking a 15 minute intermission for food and bathroom breaks. The casual mil-sim community is a wild but amazing one.
My all time favourite moment in this game was crawling in a ditch for like 10 min with my squad only to have an enemy machine gun tear everyone but me to shreds. Literally lay there amongst the bodies of my squad mates kind of befuddled...until an enemy grenade blows me up. Epic.
Was crawling along the ground alongside my buddy, getting lit up by a tank when a grenade lands an inch in front of my face, my friend goes “I hope that’s a smoke” then the gentle pop and smoke starts billowing and we just stared at each other
I usually can get the 30 mark or 40 mark for kills as long as you’re running an extremely aggressive load out and are actually, trying yknow. But also that was in a match where our own commander dropped bombs right on our position then dipped the game on last OBJ, then we had to come back and push back, now that was a memorable match
The game definitely changed a lot, at very early it was a big mess that I couldn't even play and became an amazing game, just wish the VOIP had the same quality as Post Scriptum, some people have low mic volume and maxing out doesn't get that loud and most get very distorted sadly.
It's very casual and competitive, every kill is rewarding. When i first started playing i was mic shy but later on i started getting really good at the Officer and Commander role.
Yeah I contributed. I ended up having to be the commander in a lot of games. If you can coordinate you can absolutely dominate an engagement. But it inevitably goes FUBAR against a good enemy team, devolving into true chaos and explosions zip away and disjointed commands are shouted amongst the carnage. I stopped playing so I could save the rest of the experience for the full release. Also, the artillery is funny sometimes, and useful always.
As a squad leader you should also be in contact with the commander. You need to ensure you have a reliable support player with you whose job is to provide supplies so that you can build garrisons and also the various types of nodes that provide numerous benefits to your team. Outposts are for your squad, garrisons are for the entire team and all squads should be building them. The commander can drop supplies too, but if the enemy team see the drop they will probably attempt to get to them and destroy them before you get to utilize them. I used to play with friends as a squad and usually as support. As supplies are absolutely vital in order to effectively mount and maintain sustained attacks/defences, a support player might frequently be asked to "suicide" enabling them to respawn with new supplies, to be placed on the orders of squad leader/commander to facilitate their overall strategy and the building of nodes and garrisons. Garrisons are the lifeblood of any team and are invariably the difference between victory and defeat. Unless players are prepared to play less glamorous and exciting roles and understand that games like HLL are not just about kills but about effectively playing a specialized role within a cohesive unit and making a contribution that delivers an overall win. This may well entail defending a captured point while other squads are tasked with assaulting the next one for example. That could mean doing a lot of waiting around with not much going on but if that's the job you've been given it's what you do until you are requested/ordered to move elsewhere. Far too often you see the entire team charging off towards where they think the enemy will be invariably to be either a) mowed down or b) outflanked/outsmarted and losing the ground they only just gained. Disaster is then compounded by the fact that they have built no fallback or backup garrisons, or indeed any garrisons at all, and the entire team has to spawn all the way back in their base. This inevitably always ends the same way - that is, with a monumental ass kicking ;) If you play with a well organized team of effective squads, all coordinated by an effective commander and all communicating well, the experience is completely transformed and very much for the better.
Pretty much everything you said is true, especially when you are in your first 25-50 hours of this game. However once you start to learn the maps better, dynamics of leadership, and common team tactics for each map, the game opens up greatly. Depending on how you play, you could have games with very minimal running without combat, getting lots of kills and helping your team tremendously. One thing I’ve learned after about 500 hours is that a lot of people either don’t know what needs to get done at a certain point in the match, or assume someone else will do it for them. The more you play the more enjoyment you get out of it through having more experience. This is what makes the game so great in my opinion. Most games I stop caring about after a little while but HLL is the gift the never stops giving.
Very basically, the biggest way to have an impact in this is to place Garrisons when you're in the officer position. In friendly territory you can do this with a support player in your squad, putting garrisons in enemy territory costs twice the supplies so it requires a little more coordination, enemy territory garrisons need to be heavily isolated as well because one enemy within 100 meters disables them, but the team-wide spawn garrisons provide helps immeasurably to the teams ability to control the map, if you place a garrison, and other squads take advantage of them to control the area around them, that's how you start to play the game with some awareness, as you described. The Garrisons and Outposts also help to keep you aware of where enemies might be, if its red on the map it means there's enemies within at least 75 meters.
HLL is my absolute favourite game right now. You can have some of the most frustrating moments and some of the most epic multilayer moments you'll ever experience. Get a whole squad of smoothies together and then you'll start feeling like you're doing something. Come play on the Aussie servers some time.
You should try Holdfast: Nations at War. Slower paced, but the community has tons of fun with it. Originally it was just Napoleonic Wars, but they've recently released WW1 game modes. You'll like it.
This, squad, insurgency sandstorm, rising storm 2 Vietnam are the only games I play now. I grew up playing halo and cod but when I got a taste of these games, I can't think of myself playing anything else
Patience and perception equals perfection. You'll go >20:0 if you slooooowww down. Slow down. Focus. Do not be distracted. Or just be fodder for my killfeed lmao
The enjoyment of a match is usually determined by having a half competent commander. I've tried being commander and your entire match is watching a map calling in stuff and fighting squad leads to do stuff.
The reason why those servers have 80~ people and won't let you in is because they are reserving slots for VIP members (most likely) or possibly clan members, to ensure they have a better chance to be able to play

I’ve been watching your vids completely for the past year every time you upload and it’s just a break from my day. I watch every video just once every week yet I remember watching every single one of them. thanks for these chill vids
Habie is my comfort youtube channel
This video is a masterpiece. It has an in depth story and a great character arc. This video shows how one video out on the internet can change how we grasp our life. It goes through different stages of control, sanity, regret and last of all, beauty. I hope you too like me watching this video had your life changed forever. Thank you for reading this.
He does videos like these aboue once a week, your life is about to be changed very frequently
This video changed my life. And then your comment changed it again.
@@walkerx1813 He just posts this generic comment on lots of videos
Habie the music in ur vid today was an absolute slap also the vid its self is an absolute slap :))
Need to play across the wire, because Poisonous gas, Nonstop artillery, and, a gaggle of smooth brains is amazing.
Don't you mean Beyond the Wire?
This video has me sold! A group of my friends are getting into this game for the first time, I have no doubt now that getting this game myself will be worth it.
Never have I blown more air out of my nose
My best advice for looking to see enemies is, and i know this sounds weird, or unhelpful/obvious, but look for things that you don't think should be there, or very very small movements, look for small differences in the environment and such, once you figure that little thing out you'll be good
"Having trouble seeing the enemy? Look harder."
@@BigDaddyWes i mean, it's good advice
just "look differently"
A very rewarding role is Sniper with a good spotter. Very hard/impossible to get when a match starts but when you do... man the liberty and damage you inflict on the enemy is awesome
OK listen hear me out... When I play I somehow become a Battlefield protagonist - I don't mean that as in I'm a god gamer but as in my play style just mashes perfectly with the game so Ill go off on a journey and manage to take out squads with my gorilla tactics, Or I get shot by artillery and my legs get blown off
Edit: Playing hunt showdown also helps
Agreed, already have sunk almost 300 into the game. Still going hard. Been playing for about a year now, glad to see you make a video about it
Denying the enemy access to artillery is probably my favorite thing to do. Me and a buddy will grab a recon section and infiltrate the enemy spawn and constantly kill the artillery crews as they spawn. I usually finish a match with around a hundred kills, all of which are like the same three guys. Kinda feel bad for them but it keeps the arty off my teams back.
Looser much?
i feel like i am contributing a lot when i play commander lol. also, one time, i was a medic in this squad, and we helped our team chain the last objective since the entire soviet army was like somewhere else
i bought the game and my first match was literally just me running for 5 mins, dying to a sniper i couldnt see, respawning, and doing it all over again.
If maps were 2x smaller the game would be perfect.
ive started playing this game 1 week ago and cpuldnt stop since. its my daily activity and i love every second of it. great game. and since i love being a squad leader and people dont it works well in my favor
What if I told you that you are the perfect game 😳
I absolutely adore your video, amazing production value, really funny.
BUT THAT CROSSHAIRS PLACEMENT DOG PLEASE
Agreed
This game has been my favorite game for about a year and a half. Nothing feels better than a well coordinated game of HLL. Talk to your squad, ask questions, and know that garrisons and OPs are the most important part of the game!
“Hell Let Loose is a perfect game”
Unless of course you’re effected by the issues with the VOIP service that make it impossible to hear or speak, and which the devs have neglected to fix because that’d require they pay for a voice chat that isn’t garbage, and that might cost them a tiny bit more.
Seriously, fuck this game. Devs are too greedy to fix game breaking issues that have been around since launch
Voip has always worked super well for me. Sorry for the misfortune dude
god i love hell let loose so much its just walking and maybe getting a kill. honestly one of the most satisfying things is either shooting a guy at long range and hearing the ping of his helmet or sneaking all the way to the enemy base to kill their arty guys and helping your team win
Fun times
ngl one of my favourite RUclipsrs keep it up (btw love ur merch its comfy)
ya know habie, you always say thanks to the 3 people who sit through the end of your videos, past the atomic mirror brains, always to skip past it. but i just find myself sitting here enjoy it. hell i cant even afford to be a velvet brain or anythign, but ill still sit here waiting till the end. the videos just make me smile. so thanks. keep on keepin on
I was just thinking how much you'd like hell let loose considering how you liked the ww2 pavlov mod, and now you upload a HLL video. Praise Azura. The stars have aligned to bring me this blessing.
Finally, a video where he doesn't do those stupid intermissions. Bless
Your channel is a hidden gem I love your videos so much! Also imagine this game in vr…
Hopefully in another 5-10 years. That would be awesome!
Epic.
Was crawling along the ground alongside my buddy, getting lit up by a tank when a grenade lands an inch in front of my face, my friend goes “I hope that’s a smoke” then the gentle pop and smoke starts billowing and we just stared at each other
god i dont even know how this video was so informative yet hilarious, like the jokes werent even setup jokes it was just fucking knee slapping funny
1) Former Chancellor Angela Merkel
2) Former theoretical physicist Alby Einstein
3) Ode to Joy
4) Socialism

Dude yer vids are so refreshing, keep it up g
The firefights in the forest are the hardest for me. It's like there aren't enemy soldiers, the trees are just wielding the MG42s
Bro when the trees start speaking mg42 you know you are fucked
The game definitely changed a lot, at very early it was a big mess that I couldn't even play and became an amazing game, just wish the VOIP had the same quality as Post Scriptum, some people have low mic volume and maxing out doesn't get that loud and most get very distorted sadly.
It's very casual and competitive, every kill is rewarding. When i first started playing i was mic shy but later on i started getting really good at the Officer and Commander role.
For finding lobby's, I usually sort by ping and spam refresh/scroll like a madman till I find a server with an opening, but sometimes it's impossible.
oh i was playing this game earlier and thinking about you because i heard someone that sounded like you. how neat
7:00 Alpha Sniper must be really greatfull for this when he finds that video.
Just found it haha 😂
Corey seems like such an amazing friend, I don’t think you’ll survive playing HLL for that long without him
As a squad leader you should also be in contact with the commander.
This inevitably always ends the same way - that is, with a monumental ass kicking ;)
If you play with a well organized team of effective squads, all coordinated by an effective commander and all communicating well, the experience is completely transformed and very much for the better.
Should play Squad, it's a lot like HLL but the team work and tactics just makes it's so much more involved.
Just got it today on Steam and have literally no idea what I'm doing but machine gunning is a blast. Really, really like the game so far.
I would rate this game a PTSD/10
You should try Holdfast: Nations at War. Slower paced, but the community has tons of fun with it. Originally it was just Napoleonic Wars, but they've recently released WW1 game modes. You'll like it.
This, squad, insurgency sandstorm, rising storm 2 Vietnam are the only games I play now. I grew up playing halo and cod but when I got a taste of these games, I can't think of myself playing anything else
"the line to wait is full" - the best advertisement for this game ive heard
I love that the game marks your teammates atleast.
Patience and perception equals perfection.
You'll go >20:0 if you slooooowww down. Slow down. Focus. Do not be distracted.
Or just be fodder for my killfeed lmao
love your videos man keep up the great work your super entertaining
The enjoyment of a match is usually determined by having a half competent commander. I've tried being commander and your entire match is watching a map calling in stuff and fighting squad leads to do stuff.
I don’t even have time to watch the video yet but the thumbnail already made me laugh
The horrors of WWII undelined with some smooth jazz. Zhx for the vid!
The reason why those servers have 80~ people and won't let you in is because they are reserving slots for VIP members (most likely) or possibly clan members, to ensure they have a better chance to be able to play
The lack of ppl bringing up squad is surprising
The key to this game is if you have a good squad leader and understanding squad it becomes way more fun
Habbie- gets exited on 13 kills
Me- casually gets a 40 bomb running mg
I keep seeing this game everywhere I play squads, it's more of a modern mil Sim I might give this a try tbh looks fun af
iv had this on my wishlist for forever now, you made me regret not buying it sooner
