The one time I played Siege in store, my Chaos Dwarf opponent cast Erruption and wiped the tower out in one go. Probably a good thing you don't play Deets as it's always the freshly (well) painted figures that die the quickest!

That looks so good Deetz, especially with the archers on it. I used to love Warhammer Siege so much and even used to own the Mighty Fortress, but alas, no more. That Averland colour scheme is on point, looks better than the box art, though I would be tempted to give the string a wash to get rid of that clean white and make it seem a bit more in scale with the rest. Amazing work as ever good sir.

Looks great, for new paints you should definitely use more vallejo and army painter fanatics instead of just relying on citadel

That is a gorgeous siege tower, I remember seeing these in my local GW when I was a kid and always wanted one.

YOU NEED TO TRY PROACRYL! You can get them delivered by gap games, such a fun paint range to use. the strong saturated pigmentation makes them brilliant for glazing and tinting, all while being not too thick.

Very cool siege tower. I’m really hoping that over time we see re-releases of all the cool terrain and siege items that used to exist for Warhammer Fantasy. I would love to own a fortress. I do have the gate part as part of an old promotion in the late 90s which was handed out as reward for purchasing units etc on your way to build an army

Scale75 are my go to paint range, the metallics are some of the best I've used. And the paints are nice and matte

I have the Mighty Fortress…..its basically a big lump of dense polystyrene, the sort that encased cameras rather than the sort that crumbles away as you look at it.

Back in the day we used to love playing siege, such a great game, and this model was one thing I was never able to get my hands on. You’ve just brought many great memories flooding back……thank you. Great paintwork as usual. As for paint ranges, AK do a great range or you could wait for the re-release of the P3 range which is going to Kickstarter soon, but will then be in stores, with your choice of pots or dropper bottles.
The P3 kickstarter is already live and funded.

You should try the Warcolours Nostalgia 94 paints, they try to recreate the old GW paints, and they make a goblin green paint and paint pen

Your wood grain, particularly the painted segments, is simply awe-inspiring. Nice job. I went into this not thinking much of it since its just a big chunk of wood so "eh just drybrush & wash it" but you really really made it pop.

When you come visit me in Japan we can go through the classic 3rd edition Warhammer Siege book and lay out the Mighty Fortress over a few beers mate. It took me a lot of prayers to Gork to finally get me one of those styrofoam castles and the praying payed off. The 3rd edition siege book is my all time favorite. The ultimate experience of playing Warhammer is a good siege game over a beautiful castle on the table top :)

Biggest GW kits I put together were two original Necron monoliths and I used super glue which was pure hell. This thing looks a lot better than those did!

Scale75 and ProAcryl are unmatched for quality paints, the Games and Fantasy line of Scale75 is a bit easier to get into if you haven't used gel medium based paints before. Overall ProAcryl I think is the best, I highly recommend trying both of these ranges out.
Great job on the Siege Tower, looks really great. Hopefully I'll find one someday or even better, hopefully GW brings out the kit again for TOW.
My only criticism is the rope, you need to paint that with a wash or something to make it look like a rope, now it breaks the immersion as it looks like what it is, a piece of string. That applies to stuff like grass tufts as well, most don't paint them which makes them standout due to their plasticy surface, slap a bit of diluted wash on them and paint the tips with a bone colour to highlight, looks much better (just a general tip). :)

This is amazing! I've been considering building one from scratch with balsa wood. Would it be possible to ask you to meassure the different elements? Like the flor surfaces and their heights within the model... fingers crossed😊

I put poster putty/blue tack over most of the joins and areas that needed glue. It protected them from all the paint😊 I hope that helps!

Do you use your washes straight out of the bottle or do you mix them with something? It always looks so satisfying to watch you paint and I fail to reproduce the same consistency. Or do you think Citadel Colours are just better in that regard?
Hi mate, so with most washes I use some water (ultramarine blue, flesh tearers red, agrax earthshade) and water amounts vary as well as some need more water than others to dilute them down. Washes like Serpahim sepia and sometimes Reikland flesh for TMM I use straight out of the pot and washes like skeletonhoarde I use contrast medium for because it gives a great bone like colour and makes less of a mess. I also really focus on working fast with my washes because I want to avoid getting streaks. I hope that helps mate! Sorry for the long explanation! 🙌🍻

well its great but hares a thing ues waterd down blaxk to age the ropes and when get to troops of army to fill in the rank and fiell of troops ues NON GW minis if say nuthing thay will look like the GW ones and ge more one at this posting is war games alatic one more are frost grave minis thare are other hek lot are just grea fopur DA bit i think mantic has some and some history guy that fit bill to forget the names at time will be see other vids as post em
