Yes, I know Canadians often use "tuh-ron-o" as their pronunciation of Toronto. That's a regional dialect, and even varies depending on the region in Canada. "to-ron-to" is also a correct pronunciation, most common in other English dialects, this is also the pronunciation used to translate to other languages (Japanese is トロント to-ro-n-to). There are several correct answers, please do not tear me apart rahh >.

Yes, they are, because if you try and have a Korean team play against a North American team, they'll be playing on 300ping (Which is really bad). The regions compete against each other during two LANs that teams qualify for regionally. The next LAN is in Stockholm, Sweden.
@@Coach_OcieHey thanks for the reply! To clarify, I was trying to figure out whether Toronto Defiant players are (or could be) only from Toronto.
Because it is extremely common in eSports to have players travelling across states or even to other continents to play in other teams. Having a team representing a specific city feels weird to me.
Fully get the NA/Korean point that you are mentioning, just slightly different from what I'm asking.
@@cnaizhen Teams are only regionally locked, not locked by any other metric, so Toronto can import 2 players from other regions, and sign as many players as they would like (up to the max) from North America (All of NA).
@@Coach_Ocie Got it. This makes a lot of sense. So it is simply the poor marketing decision to have the team named after a specific location (while Toronto fans are more inclined to support Toronto Deviant, I believe that it sets a soft barrier for OW2 fans from the rest of the world).
