Capcom made the absolute best games back in the day. Children of the Atom, MvC 1 and 2, Street Fighter II series (Alpha and 3 as well), Punisher, way too many perfect classics to name.
Knight of the Round and UN Squadron are amongst the best too.
Alien vs Predator
Capcom, Konami, and Taito were simply arcade kings of the 90's, the 80's saw Namco and Taito rule the roost in arcades.
This is what I love about the Punisher. He lost his humanity when his family died and he became the Punisher. He fights like a man possessed. He will kill everyone in his way or die trying.
The Punisher goes from "No, no, no, no, no, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait" to "Way-Ya!!!"
Some sounds are so deeply imbedded into my mind from the amount of times Ive heard them as a child 😂😂 The nostalgia is real

I used to play this all the time in a gas station-truck stop near where I lived in 92-93.
Damn.. this player is on steroids or something..
That moment when you realize that Capcom gave Mr. Castle the combined arsenal of three other Capcom heroes: Billy Bob (Gun.Smoke), Arthur (Ghosts'n'Goblins), and Mike friggin' Haggar (Final Fight). Oh, and for a Special Move, he gets Guile's leg sweep.
You gotta give credit to Capcom they did an excellent job
What i love about this game is that it wonderfully captures the essence of the gangster types of the late 70s early 80s kingpins henchmen in this game like skinner, kolsky, hannigan, luis allegre actually were featured in the marvel comic the punisher way back when. The mafioso theme of the kingpin at the end of the game adds a real nice touch.
Definition of playing comic books back when we were young. The only interactive and closest way you could play your favorite comic book character and be them. To this day, there's still no other way. These games even looked like comic books.
The scenes of the intro were literally taken from the comic (Punisher War Journal #1)

The Punisher is my all-time favourite character when I saw his sad story in the intro scene I said to myself "poor Frank" until he became The Punisher, but guys you should know his family was killed by the Costa Crime family, because they witnessed a mob execution and the victim who's been executed is an undercover agent and the Police didn't do anything about it because most of them have been bought

Used to play this game in China in arcade shops for $2 RMB each round back in the 90s, I sucked at this game, literally had to spend more than $20 RMB before I could finish the game
I LOVED this game when I was a kid because I loved The Punisher, and it was fairly easy to play.
You could advance very far on just one quarter. Great game.

Gotta love the piledriver roar @2:13. He does it very few times when piledriving. Wonder what triggers the roar.
You achieve that move by jumping with an enemy in your hands then pressing down + attack. If you press attack at the highest point of the jump you make the special attack with the roar and also deals more damage.
Those white boots are fancy.
The Bonebreaker boss fight was intense!

I literally played this game with my little girl for the first 5 stages and we had a blast! Thank you mom for getting me the Marvel Super Heroes Marquee edition arcade 1Up cabinet. This game is a gem

Hey all my viewers, i never liked to use auto control in most of the game play until i found some parts with annoying fist attack on my enemy. u know manual taping of one key again and again. So boring!! So i pressed the auto control button sometimes but not all time..
There's no reason to use auto control in beat 'em ups. Because there are a bunch of moves you can execute. In shoot 'em ups though, in games where you have to manually tap for each shot, there is a reason to use turbo. Only if the game doesn't have a special move where you have to hold the shoot button to execute it. Otherwise, I never really use it.

Back in the day, I would never imagine some unknown superhero whos not from any media Im familiar with would appear in my fav video game genre. imo, this beat em up is the best of its time because of how beatable it feels even if youre a first time player. you dont even need to know any specific way to beat certain types of enemies and the boss patterns are almost negligible coz of the buttload of weapons littered on the screen.

I hate to be Mr annoying comment guy-- but I think what they were trying to do with the ow! sound effect is great low fidelity equivalent to The Wilhelm scream. It is wild to hear the " ow!" sound enterspersed with machine gun impact.

I remember there was a cheat or bug in the game. If you grab a red guy with a Tommy gun and shake him left snd right violently, every opponent instantly dies and you just walk through the level.
I wish this was on the Switch!!!!!
