    My wife bought me a mirror cube about 15 years ago. She thought it was going to be a harder challenge than the traditional cube. She was surprised and disappointed when within 10 minutes I was solving it with my eyes closed. But, as I insisted, I actually really like that. It was a different experience and fun.

      My mom did a simillar thing to me, she bought me a mirror because it looked harder, and I didn't have the heart to tell her that 15 minutes is all it took me to solve it about 10 times. When she called me, all excited, I said that I was somewhere in the middle, and that it was pretty hard. She seemed happy, and till this day, she believes that I struggled with mirror for a while

    We did “mirror full blind” as an unofficial event at a cubing comp prior to lockdown and it was mad fun. Over the time we spent at home there was a big discussion about adding mirror blind as an event and while everyone agreed that it would be very good idea (it adds a new style of solving that is currently not offered with the current events yet is accessible to anyone that can solve a 3x3) BUT the problem came in when it came to defining the regs on what a mirror cube is. The concern being that manufacturers might try to push the hardware to make the event too easy one way or the other. Not to mention that there were mirror cubes that had rotationally symmetrical pieces which would need to be negated in some way.
    I still think it’s worth brainstorming a way to find a solution cause it’s a lot of fun

    I brought in my mirror cube on one of my finals days when school was ending, I had it with me in English (I didn't have a final test, we had a project as our final instead of a standard test) and pretty much the only thing I did was solve it under my desk without looking at it. • @mjgamingtv3766
      @mjgamingtv3766 2 года назад

      3x3 is a much better cube to start on. 2x2 should be pretty easy once you know how to solve the 3x3. Doing 2x2 first isn't that bad but it's much better to learn how to do the 3x3, since the 2x2 doesn't have edge pieces, learning 3x3 would be quite harder since you'll have to learn f2l or u can just stick to the begginer method first. But IMO u should get both and train 3x3 and then the other variations, that's how I did it but it's still your choice after all.

    • @maitryebhandare599
      @maitryebhandare599 2 года назад

      I think you should start from 3x3 because it's just the classic plus there's a lot to learn about it. And since it's more observed and learnt about, there's a lot to learn about it, so when you move to other cubes, you can use that knowledge.

    Could you send/release the words that you use for blindfolded letter pairs because I struggle thinking of different words, especially for some of the harder letters.
    Also loved the video and are looking forward to the comp video! :)

    I have a hopefully fun (but probably not) challenge for you. So pretty much, you have to solve a skewb while only looking at the reflection of the cube without an inspection. I hope I will see a video of you doing this challenge but if not then that is fine. You are one of my all time favorite RUclipsrs, and your “beginners method” tutorial helped me SO much and I only started learning to solve a Rubik’s Cube last year and my record is 31 seconds. You are a huge roll model in my life.

    Hey jperm! Hope you're having a nice day.
    Can you do a challenge video or even an actual tutorial and review of the Petrus method where you share your thoughts and best times, kind of like the ZZ video you did.

    before you solve the last corner of the first layer, keyhole the 3 edges of the different f2l pairs, and it will be so much faster. You can sort of use f2l on the last pair!

    You should try a 3x3 blind folded but the pieces are like textured with dots or something like that.

    hey Jperm, I'm getting a cube for a friend who is just getting in to cubing and I want to get a budget cube in case she does not like it. I cringe to say this but she really likes my Gan RS. She likes slow and controllable cubes that are also quiet. I was just wondering what you would reccomend. I love your content! Keep up the good work!
