Of all the food showcased in Cooking with Valkyries, I was not expecting Kallen's gigantic Onigiri ball to be the one featured here XD.
The technique I was taught by my mum for shaping onigiri is to use the junction between your thumb and the edge of your palm to get the corners nicely rounded.
Cooking with Valkyries is one of my favourite series as I play Honkai Impact 3rd and I love cooking! I hope you could make more food from the anime series!

This brings me back to my childhood. Specifically, field trip days in my Japanese elementary school. My mom always made these for me on those days, since there was no school lunch. Was basically the go-to bagged lunch for a Japanese kid in the 80s. I'm in the US nowadays. Not sure if its still the same.

Fun fact: first time I was in Japan, the family I was staying with had home-made umeboshi, which I was told, was made from plums. So I took a huge bite! Long story short, I have never been able to eat umeboshi again.

I feel like the best way to make this would actually be with lawyers, almost like a 3D cake...or the Earth itself! Center ball of tuna, thin layer of rice, thin layer of nori, thick layer of salmon, thin layer of rice, final layer of nori. Layer of umeboshi too, if you're feeling especially brave.
I'd love to see how that would turn out!
