This is my idea of the Minecraft Cake. Minecraft origins from Sweden. A traditional cake from here would be "pannkakstårta"(Translation=pancake cake ) If you look it up it as reasonably similarity to the Minecraft Cake. In Sweden we would then take traditional Swedish Pancakes layer them with any local berries jam and cream sugar etc. So each layer would be a pancake sugar, cream and jam. On top of the cake should be a cream layer with fresh strawberrys. This is what i allways thought the Minecraft Cake was. Which is also why i think the receipe is closer to a pancake then a cake.
I've always thought that the "True" Minecraft cake should be a Tres Leches cake. A meringue based cake with three kinds of milk fits the ingredients perfectly, and they're often served with cherries on top like the Minecraft cake.

@@yocapo32 Because it tastes bad? It's not solid sugar, it's also a lot of corn syrup and often gelatin. There's also more to taste than just ingredients. Better to just use modelling chocolate or a stiff royal icing.

Most likely strawberries. To me it looks like the cake is based on gräddtårta/jordgubbstårta which is just like an easy to make cake we eat around summer (when the strawberries are ripe). You can copy the names since they have IKEAlanguage letters if you want to google and see how it looks.

Since Minecraft is a Swedish game, I would guess the cake actually is a strawberry cake with whipped cream on top (never frosting!). This is the second most common cake in Sweden :)
Seeing the raw wheat and eggs sitting on the table really makes me want to see you make something from absolute scratch. Like harvesting the wheat, milling the grain into flour, and so on for a recipe! Like a homesteader❤

You can “leaven” by separating the eggs and making a meringue of the whites, folding in your sugar and yolks and milk, then mixing in the flour, then baking.

If you count the milk for also making butter and more quantities of ingredients, you can get pretty close to making an edible cake, however without the baking soda it will taste very different. You would just have pancakes with icing on top.

I found it immensely impressive of how perfectly you made the the symmetry of the cake. Everything from the corners to the red raspberry squares were perfectly symmetrical.
idk who else needs this but I did... so here's a reference if you don't have a scale at home. 2 oz sugar = ~ 1/3 cup, 180 grams eggs ~ 10 tbsp or 3-4 eggs, 140 grams egg yolk ~ 8 tbsp, 240 grams milk ~ 1 cup, 550 grams flour ~ 4 1/3 cup, 550 grams sugar ~ 4 1/3 cup, 340 grams butter ~ 1 1/2 cup this list is really only to get an idea of the amounts, I'm not entirely sure how accurate my research was.
Suggestion, try whipping the eggs and sugar together at the start, to a creamy state, then add the flour. And bake it in the oven, before using some heavy cream (is essentially milk based :P ) to make whipping cream with a touch of sugar to use as the frosting part.

Game logic wise you needed another white box to act as the output. There isn't a craft button in minecraft, you fill out the crafting blueprint in the crafting bench window (like you did) then you pull the cake out of the output window providing you with a cake and clearing the crafting window. By the logic established in this video your original process could have been working, but without an output window there was no way to know.
