I'm Japanese. I live in Miyagi-ken. There is a case that I took it only a little for the Shinkansen. But this picture had a sign appropriate for Miyagi. 萩の月(hagi no tuki) is a famous kind of cake from Miyagi. And there are a lot of mountains and fields, so I think a picture from Tokyo to Sendai in Miyagi. English of translation.I'm sorry.
Oh my gosh i just realized that "Goodbye to a world","Flicker" and "Sad machine" are tied together: In "Goodbye to a world" a computer is singing to his beloved and telling him that she will create a world that is their own. In Flicker we see a world that has glitches(Meaning that it's created by a computer),and in 2:00 we see bombs and destruction happening. Then "Sad machine" starts with "Is anyone theree?"like something horrible happened, maybe apocalypsis,"Who survived?"(This just backs up my theory)and then she (the computer) meets a guy that maybe is who the computer in goodbye to a world is singing to.(Sorry for the extremely bad grammar).
ruben alejandro The entire album is tied together... Not just these 3 songs. Goodbye to a world is the computer dying out.... Sad Machine is about a machine finding another person, a boy, and grows up with him, but they realize he'll die and eventually her memory will overwrite the memory of him and itll be like they never met and he never existed. The whole album is based on the apocalypse.
ruben alejandro I wouldn't of thought of that! Those are my three favorite songs from Porter Robinson! I can't believe that they just could be tied together! Give this guy a cookie!

My first thought was this song is just for weebs. After some time I started seeing the depth of this song and loving it as one of my favorites songs ever. The Japanese lyrics are just a Google translation that Porter did with the sentence "I'm trying to find what's really important to me". If you look at it closely "Worlds" is all about the hero's journey by Joseph Campbell. I conceive Flicker as the part/process where the hero becomes the hero. This song has a repetitive and predictable melody at the start of the song and comes back several times. Then it has parts where the music/synths go crazy that feel like an adventure, where the hero is in a quest, has to achieve a certain goal and make decisions. After the storm, the repetitive melody comes back and the hero asks again in his comfort zone "I'm trying to find what's really important to me" and doing this after every adventure is how the legend, the hero is made.
Heard this in my first ever rave at EDM (it was a 3 day rave)when I was 19 and a freshman in college. I went with a group of random guys that said they needed an extra person to go with them and split the rent for the motel. I just so happened to over hear them say that and I told them that I was down and went with them. It was one of the best experience of my teenage life and life in general. Enjoy being young while you can guys. 👍🏻
After so many years, randomly this song popped up in my head...when i looked up in youtube it showed uploaded 9 years ago....shit i remember back in 2014 listening to this track everyday and it felt like few years ago
Well I saw Porter Robinson live on the Worlds tour. It was quite an event given the context, I hadn't seen any of my best friends in months and I was back in my hometown just for one day. I was at a festival and I kept seeing all these people from my high school and it was such a trip; I even snuck off to make out with an old classmate. Saw about 9 other acts just that one day, but Porter Robinson was by far the best. Friends and I were all rolling and Porter's set was just so gorgeous and over the top we were just telling each other how glad we were to be friends and hugging. It was kind of strange but I don't regret a second of it; best night of my life. I hope other people have cool experiences like this because this is amazing music to have good memories to.
therunningpiano My experience would be nothing like yours, given the fact that you dared roll at HIS show??? LOL you completely contradict one of the elements of his album, so good job for that one. His show is to be taken in fully aware to give it a much more vivid and emotional feeling.... But hey, if you and your friends need to roll in order to feel the music, then keep at it i guess.
Yesterday morning, I was channel surfing and tuned into MTV2's usual morning block of showcasing music videos, expecting Maroon 5 or some generic poppy shit to be on. I was pleasantly surprised. This song is amazing; brilliant composition and vocal chops right here. The guitar, child-like voice and powerful synths compliment eachother so well, and the emotional tone of the instrumental fits well with the repeating simple phrase that translates to "I'm trying to find what's most important". It's so sweet and emotional that it almost puts a tear in my eye.
I know you'll never see this but I'll always remember listening to this with someone very dear to me and it just reminds me of all the good times that we once had and how I wish we could still at least be friends again... This song makes me remember a past I chose to try and forget but it's not in a bad way. I needed this, to reflect. Syd if you do somehow ever see this, I'm so sorry...
Still remember when in early 2019 I heard this song out of nowhere and I started crying for no reason. And didn’t even know who the tf was the composer at the time
That song, since I started listening Porter's music. I first saw it on TV, just occasionally, but I had to freeze into the screen and watch it till the end. Then there were Language, Easy, Fresh Static Snow and so on. Especially Shelter with dozens of cover/mix-varieties. To sum up, I just say, I like this music and imagine always so immersive visual effects while listening it with my headphones, strolling the streets. BTW, I am from Russia, Saint-Petersburg. And I am happy, that I can describe my feelings to another world with english :)
Man, when my computer died of a BIOS and GFX card driver corruption that overclocked all components, the same shit happened to my desktop and It's audio.
I remember when this first came out. I was just starting high school, and now I’m in the middle of college. I’m glad I randomly remembered this, rare memories unlocked
Porter is the only artist where I have binged exclusively his music for more than a couple months without getting tired of it. And I've been listening to Porter non-stop for over a year at this point. That's gotta say *something* about Porter as a Musician.
@@Graystripe345 I feel you there. Ive been listening to edm since 2013 (first grade for me, when i had my hands on the internet) and eventually found porter robinson, he gave me musical frisson. since then edm has been all ive been listening to.
I would like to recommend all of you to explore more music of Porter if you haven't, it's really good, trust me.. And maybe check out Madeon too, a good friend of Porter as well, his music is damn awesome as well..
What a beautiful world we created champs. Everything we see everywhere, is the result of human action and cooperation. It's amazing how we still stand here.
During 1:37-1:39 is when I feel it all break apart. Before this part, I see the image of the girl I love and all our memories, then at said time, I can feel the picture shatter in my mind. But I still love this song. And I still love this girl. I love the good and the pain it left me too, because it was real.
Being able to listen to this incredible music while riding the train through Tokyo on a sunny day is truly an amazing experience, I am truly grateful of being there.

U WOT BRO? NO AWESOME DROP? CANT FUCKEN BELIEVE IT. SHITS FUCKED.
This just blew my imagination all over my body. Thank you Porter
imagination is just code word for semen
And porter is a code word for Daddy.
WUT? I don't know that porter had 2 more accounts!
Shane Brown it blew a ton of stuff all over my body too
Porter Robinson's music always leaves me breathless, in a physical way and I'm not sure why
Am I still crying in 2020 while remembering those super nostalgic things that make you more sad?
Fuck.
The whole album is pure gold!
I know you'll never see this but I'll always remember listening to this with someone very dear to me and it just reminds me of all the good times that we once had and how I wish we could still at least be friends again... This song makes me remember a past I chose to try and forget but it's not in a bad way. I needed this, to reflect. Syd if you do somehow ever see this, I'm so sorry...
you're not alone, i am in the same boat, hope will someday comfort yourself, but remember that everything has a reason to happen

Впервые я увидел этот клип на ТВ на канале "2х2", мне очень зашло, правда стал слушать Поpтера я намного позже.

Was at your concert tonight, Porter.
And looking back on it I say,
"Hey, that's pretty good."
flicker and shelter will forever be the same to me, in the way that whenever i hear any note from either song i can't help but smile and just be happy
Man, when my computer died of a BIOS and GFX card driver corruption that overclocked all components, the same shit happened to my desktop and It's audio.
I wouldn't be impressed if this was a virus..
At least my PC's last living moments were absolutely bloody beautiful to watch. But my computer was in heavy pain.

Porter is the only artist where I have binged exclusively his music for more than a couple months without getting tired of it. And I've been listening to Porter non-stop for over a year at this point. That's gotta say *something* about Porter as a Musician.
