    How does the ROG Azoth sound with different switches?

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten  Год назад +2

      @Djeep040 I purchased the Asus ROG Azoth with the blue, clicky switches, that Asus calls ROG NX Blues. Out of the box, the Azoth sounded great...as long as you like clicky switches. Asus pre-lubes their switches...and if you ever lubed switches, these are good enuf. That said, after gaming on the blues for a while, I upgraded my board to the Gateron Ink Black V2 linear switches (pre-lubed) and its hard to go back. Therein lies the beauty of the Azoth...about 80% of a custom board out of the box and gamers can upgrade the board to their heart's content. Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment! 👍

    The Azoth is a 75% rather than TKL. You can replace the key caps and the switches on the Azoth with whatever you want, you can't even really replace anything on the G915. I used the G915 TKL for about 18 months and rubbed off pretty much all the keys in that time and it always looked oily (loved the donut comment). As my favorite keyboard of all time was the old Northgate clicky keyboards from the 90s I like blues switches in general and have that style on both. The blue NX on the Azoth are super quite compared to the G915 but that due to all the dampening vs sitting on a piece of metal, at least IMHO. Glad you like the G black ones!
    I plan to pickup the Razer 75% next Saturday and give it a try but I HATE the Razer software... it's better than Asus but I don't need the Asus software and you can't even plug a Razer without it loading their software.
    Last weekend I picked up the new Corsair K65 min pro and while I'm not a really a fan of optical that keyboard is amazing so far. My small keyboard of choice for a while had been the HyperX 60% because it's easy to use FN key and the nice and quite aqua tactile switches.
    I'm with you on the software but most of mine is Corsair, however I can't do without my Logitech Superlight so I've got G center running as well.
    Great and very thorough review! Thank you!

      Wow! That is a fantastic comment and I really appreciate you taking the time to watch our videos, listen and write something meaningful. The Azoth being a 75% vs. a TKL is a great comment. As for the G915, I am looking forward to the 2.0 of this keyboard and really hope Logitech updates the keycaps & stabilizes the switches. Agree with you on the Razer software and I'm actually typing this out on the Razer Blackwidow V4 75%. Before I could really do anything on the Blackwidow, I had to login to Synapse. On keyboard software (overall), G Hub is by far my favorite, but us gamers need "The One Ring to Rule Them All." :) I am a huge ASUS / ROG fan, but Armory Crate is just so meh from such a legendary gaming company. Synapse, its better, but not much. I haven't gone the 60% route as I am still married to my function keys...for me, F-Keys are similar to iMessage...can't really live without them.
      Stay tuned as I'll give my views on the Blackwidow next weekend. Still learning how to do lighting and audio. Lighting is really technical...

      @@mynusten I'm in complete agreement! I'll add it's been somewhat difficult going back to a normal keyboard from the low profile. I'm lucky I had the warranty on oldest regular G915 as he has no letter left at all. Hopefully they can up the caps and a few more items because it was a wonderful keyboard. I did recently test out a similar RedDragon keyboard for Amazon and it was VERY close, almost too close if I were Logitech for it to be about 1/5 the price. I'll be looking forward to additional content!

    I like the idea of being able to replace the switches with the Azoth key board. That way I can try out different kinds of switches without having to buy 5 or 6 keyboards. I never gave my keyboard much thought and am still using a 15-20 year old Steelseries shift keyboard. I just ordered a Logitech K845ch full size keyboard with blue cherry clicky switches. Do you have an opinion on that keyboard? I chose it since it was a full size keyboard, was simple without a lot of bling, made by Logitech and only $75.00.
    This will be my first new keyboard in almost 20 years and my first mechanical keyboard. It's funny I never upgraded my keyboard sooner I have a pretty powerful PC with a pair of 1440p 144Hz IP monitors and have built my own PC's for years. I do play games and have been playing Starfield for the last month. I got it as a promo with a 7900XT I bought recently. Thanks for the video.

      The Asus ROG Azoth is my favorite keyboard of the year. As you mentioned, the keyboard is entirely modifiable and I've already put a few switch types. I currently have the Gateron Ink Black V2s in my Azoth and they are great, linear switches. Keyboards are a bit of a rabbit hole if you really get into how they are constructed, switches and keycaps, but its a fun hobby. Good luck with Starfield...I heard its a near endless game. 👍

    nice video but i would like ask which is better azoth or keychron 1 / 2 pro because i see alot people going for keychron and the price is almost the same but what i know is that keychron keyboard can be modded heavily but i am curious about if azoth or keychorn which is suitable for gaming for fps game thx.

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten  Год назад

      @yum1685, thanks for the comment! I used a Keychron many years ago and its a solid keyboard. I think the main difference between the Asus ROG Azoth and the Keychron 1/2 Pro is the Asus ROG is a gaming keyboard. Another big difference is the ROG Azoth is completely customizable. If you are more into gaming, I'd go the Azoth route. If you are looking for a work / productivity keyboard & you use a Mac, the Keychron may be your better option. At retail, the Azoth is priced higher, but I see it on sale on Amazon regularly for $200. I very much enjoy my Asus ROG Azoth keybaord. Thanks again for watching and commenting! 👊

      @yum1685 the Logitech G915 is a nice keyboard, too, but it is nearly 3 years old. My bet is Logitech will update the G915 in the near future. The keycaps on the G915 are ABS, so they aren't as nice as the Asus ROG Azoth's PBT Doubleshot keycaps.

    Funny as I find G-Hub as massively over-engineered and confusing piece of sw, which was made to overwhelm. Have you ever tried to simply change your onboard RGB profiles, good luck with that gymnastics. There is not even official tutorial this insane operation needs to be learn via external RUclips video of one Redditor who has figured this out. Not even Synapse was such a hell to use and that is already a cancer of a bloated software. So if the Asus Armory is even worse, I think I will stay away from Asus boards to keep the white hair and wrinkles for another decades to come :))

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten  6 месяцев назад +1

      @sixtheninth unfortuantely, no device maker has mastered the software feature. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the Wootility webapp by Wooting...easy and gives gamers what we need. The reality is whatever keyboard or mouse you go with, you'll just have to strap-in and figure out the software. It took me a good year to understand Armoury Crate and its an aquired tatste, for sure. Good luck with learning whatever periphreal app you choose! 👍

I think the G915 is still better than the Logitech G Pro X TKL wireless...its a new board, but its built with a lot of low quality materials. The Azoth is a waaaaay better keyboard, but, I hear you, EUR280 is a steep price. We can buy it in the US regularly for $200. Thanks for watching my content and posting! Much appreciated. 👍

I've tried wireless gaming headsets, but none come even close to wired headsets.
