'80s ZZ Top like this song is fun, but their best stuff is from the "70s. I recommend "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide", "Cheap Sunglasses", or "Lowdown in the Street" as just a few of their awesome '70s output.

You were talking about ZZ top being angels...I have a great story along those lines. My daughter flew to a different state to meet up with her grandpa to go to a ZZ Top concert. Well, the tickets were sold out so he didn't get any. My daughter was all bummed out and was talking about how much she wanted to see them. They're walking in the airport, and a guy with a beard is walking next to them. He heard that she was disappointed with not getting tickets, and he stopped them and handed them two tickets to the concert. My daughter thanked him and asked him who he was, and he said God lol. 😊

Frank Beard is the drummer and he doesn’t have a beard. There were/are 3 members in the band and the bassist passed away a few years ago. La Grange Texas is where they’re from. I saw them in concert before I knew who they were, and I became an instant fan! They were just as good live, if not better! They have that sound of the 70's/early 80's of Southern Rock! It was a great time for music! ZZ Top was always a band that when they came on the radio, you would turn it up! Thanks for the blast from the past!! I needed this today.

Classic 80's ZZ Top. I enjoy their 70's stuff that is more Texas blues. For some suggestions: "Hot, Blue and Righteous", "Heard it on the X", "Blue Jeans Blues", "Tush", :Waitin' on the BNus/Jesus Just Left Chicago". Fior their double entdre songs: "Pearl Necklace", "Tube Snake Boogie", "Sleeping Bag", "Velcro Fly".

I've seen ZZ Top in concert twice! The first time they had a white buffalo rise up onto the stage from below with a desert scene on the backdrop behind it! This was a 4th of July Jam in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1976. GREAT concert and it lasted 12 hours! The only other group I remember in it was Blue Oyster Cult! Those were good times!

It's surprising you wouldn't have heard them on the radio because these songs of theirs you're checking out now were such hits and they're still played regularly on classic rock radios and probably in a lot of commercials, but hey, that's great you discover them now and are having fun. These guys and their videos were all about that. Good groovy rock music and fun...

For many years I thought they were saying "Every girl's crazy about a *shot glass man*" it wasn't until I asked my a friend who was a big fan of ZZ Top what they meant by shot glass man and he busted up laughing and told me it's "sharp dressed man" then it all made sense.

A good progression of their Rock style would be "La Grange" (1973), "Tush" (1975), "Cheap Sunglasses" (1979), then the stuff you've heard from "Eliminator" (1983). Oh and if you haven't heard "Legs", that video is obviously a must... 🤪😎

LOL! My musician son, loved ZZ Top so much he grew out his beard. Long! I remember him at around his mid 30s, giving me a ride through the streets of Salem Oregon in his Vintage Corvette with the window down, at night playing this song loud. I had to plug my ears because his speakers would blow you away. I closed my eyes most of the time too. It was a crazy wild ride and have to admit... Fun!
