Miracle on 34th Street is my all-time favourite Christmas story, the 1947 film is a must every year. This version was also delightful. Nice to see Theresa Wright and MacDonald Carey together, both starred in Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt 12 years earlier. Wishing everyone a joyous and safe Christmas from Sydney, Australia!
My favorite Christmas movie of all times. Nothing beats this all time classic! still the heartwarming Christmas movie that I've watched every year since my childhood.
What a magnificent film! *'The Miracle on 34th Street'* is my all-time favorite movie. Even though our parents didn't allow us to celebrate Christmas when I was a kid, I'd sneak off in defiance and watch this heartwarming film. It was my own little Christmas celebration.
I absolutely loved this clip.It was my very first time of seeing this version of the miracle on 34th street to me it was the best one even the original which I love and watch every Christmas. Great acting and the shorter time makes it to the point and direct
Thank God we still have these old CLASIC Christmas movies , to show are kids how nice people are on Christmas at least it's about the only time of year the use to be ,even up to 20 years ago ,no most people are pushing and shoving , mean and ignorant to each other out in society it's so very sad , people are over worked kids are left alone or with strangers ,I could go on but ,I won't ,I wish all the beautiful hearted people left out there ,may your holidays if any ,be full of joy ! Jesus is the reason for Christmas God Bless you all !!!
@@gobshite5150 Wow! That is sad. Even worse, there are people that will fight, to the death, over who has the better god. Imagine that! Thank you to the creative minds that brought us this movie and to the scientists who brought us the technology to allow us to watch it. Season's Greetings and goodwill to all.
What I love about this movie is when they say faith is believing in something when Common Sense tells you not to. So True, That Is How True Faith Works. Praise the Lord, I Have Seen It 🙏 🙌 Work Time After Time, Thank You Jesus.
This is one of my favorite movies. I can watch it at anytime.. Any movie these days, that's loving and kind is very much appreciated. So., thanks for sharing. Not, the whole movie. I like it so.... Peace
I'm 58 years old I've been watching miracle on 34th Street all of them since I was a little kid and this one still brings a tear to my eye this is by far the best miracle on 34th Street in my opinion.
@Skyedog, I did not understand the very last remark in the movie play Mr daily as he's holding the cane by the fireplace. In fact it kind of ruined the whole thing for me. Maybe you could explain it?
Thomas Mitchell ( uncle Billy of "It's A Wonderful Life" and Gerald O'Hara of "Gone With The Wind"...terrific choice, just a hair behind Edmund Guinn! Sebaston Cabot later played the role beautifully.
It's the bit at the beginning of the full length film. Where Kris Kringle spoke Dutch to a little girl who escaped occupied Holland . That's what got me.
I don't care if he thinks he is the easter bunny you've got to get him back!!! Screenplays were so much wittier back in this era and this wasn;t even the best time for American fillm production!!!! Thanks for uploading this wonderful film.
Don't forget the wonder you felt as a child. Faith Hope & Charity realize what gifts these are and if you're struggling now do your best and God will do the rest.
Soooo endearing and cute. Santa and the Easter Bunny are alive & well. Oh yes, and forget the remake in colour. MERRY CHRISTMAS, God bless us, everyone.
Thomas Mitchell was EVERYWHERE, back in the day - have a look at his IMDb page and count the classics he was in. STAGECOACH, MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON, HIGH NOON... It's quite a list!
Happy Holidays ! Always have loved this Christmas movie ! I live alone with my kitty Midnight Baby !Watching Christmas shows and movies this Christmas time !
How I loved this movie growing up. I still love it. When I watch it now, I usually watch Brainstorm afterward, which was the last movie the beautiful Natalie Wood was in before her untimely death, and such a brilliant and thought-provoking movie to go out on.
This is the first tv adaptation of"Miracle On 34th Street".. this was seen on:"The 20th Century Fox Hour"on CBS TV in 1955..the second tv adaptation was on NBC TV..four years later with Ed Wynn as"Kris Kringle"..the third and last tv version of this beloved story was again on CBS TV in 1973 and Sebasian Cabot played the role of "Kris Kringle".
What an amazing find! Thomas Mitchell elevates every film he's in, and thus is no exception. MacDonald Carey and Teresa Wright are great as the couple destined to fall in love, and Sandy Descher (the little girl from THEM!) is superior to Natalie Wood, if you can imagine! The film is almost identical, line for line, shot for shot, from the 1947 film, with few cuts here and there. A MUST see. And you will cry at the end.
Sandy was cute but I still preferred Natalie Wood in the part of Susan otherwise very satisfied with rest of cast delightful version as previously mentioned Thomas Mitchell was just a fraction below Edmund gwin he gave a very believable oerfjrny
Performance Hans conried has been in countless radio And television roles one of the most famous as uncle tanoose in Danny Thomas show I had the privilege of seeing Hans in a dinner theater production in Seattle back in The 70 s the play was called how the other half loves he was a delight
I like the part where Nick was explaining the reindeer horns. Male reindeer shed their horns in the winter..the females don't. Thus Santa's reindeer are girls.. They don't get lost and don't have to stop for directions!!:) 🌲🌲
GREAT CLASSIC ! The BEST ! Thank you and Merry Christmas !! Happy New Year !! And God Bless You for posting it ! Your friends in Georgia who love a Great Classic ! Estella and and my daughter Lena

This is the second best one to 1947.

Young lady I just wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas.
A nice little movie is also lovely like the one with Natalie Wood that i watched before this. thanks for showing this ❤ merry christmas.
No bad for a made-for-TV version, but nothing will ever beat the 1947 original.
Bah humbug
Missing home a lot this year ..... This movie filled the void once more as i am alone in SC with vultures circling....
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you. Happy Holidays 🍕

This movie is my own personal Christmas tradition. I watch it every year on Christmas day!
Don't you prefer the original 1947 version?
That is brilliant, we always have Home Alone on every Christmas Morning 🌲🌲
Watching it for the first time ..... looks great ! ... The Old World.
@@johnh23z OH yes the good Old World 😊
This version is exceptionally good. Very enjoyable!
What a charming television adaption of the 1947 classic. Always loved Theresa Wright.

Thomas Mitchell plays Kris Kringle like a psychopath posing as Santa. His are the hard, unblinking eyes of a cold-blooded killer!

Ever since I heard that, that has been my definition of faith
I like this version better . but also like the old version when Santa Claus whacks Dr Sawyer in the head .
Condensed version of the Valentine Davies' classic Christmas Tale. Two thumbs up. Very well done ! Bravo.

Now they rely on overuse of profanity which isn't witty or clever

And hundreds of other roles in his long career
....And played Scarlett O’Hara’s father in Gone With the Wind too

The acting in the 1973 version is horrible!
im sixty odd and not seen this tv version before. thank you so much for sharing this 🥂
Was not expecting Santa to clock the guy in the head
He gave him a proper good whack too in this!
You just don't mess with Santa.
That’s what I want for Christmas. Maybe I need to get a letter in the post for Santa! lol 😂

Another great Christmas film. I've just watched the 1935 Scrooge, both marvellous .
The little girl saw Santa's reindeer, and suddenly started shouting "THEM!! THEM!!!" lol
Didn't know they made one in 55! I know about the 1973 one with Sabastion Cabot.
I am looking every year for this movie, becouse its always heartwarming and nice to see.
Have all a wonderfull New Year 2021...🎄🎆🎇✨🧨✨🎁🥰🖐🙏🏻
Well, when you only have 46 minutes to tell a movie-length story, Mr. Monk's script does a pretty good job.
It is remarkable. They have dispensed with some subplots, but it works very well.
The best Christmas movie
Great classic movies
