love the idea, but flawed in a way. People still don't understand how ore nodes spawn, despite me railing constantly in server chat. I'm sure i'm on a few ignore lists. BUT, if you don't clear all stone nodes, and only mine the ore, you end up with instances that ONLY have stone nodes. WoW had this issue way back in 2004, Thorium with that game, shared a spawn with another ore. i've gone to flooded fortress palium spawns, all stone. I clear'm. Cause, ya know. Community game, but help me people! Also, nice to see tree clearing to force flow tree spawns, been harping on that mechanic for over a week now =oP ( rare bugs and garlic/dari clove/heartdrop lily spawns always slow me down lol) also, that outro is adorable, I have no life either. Palia has consumed the last of it. Keep up the good work!
You were talking about what the devs could do to balance game economy more, but totally forgot the most likely outcome: Instead of making mining up to level of hunting they will double down on nerfing hunting.
Hunting as already been nerf twice, I dont think they will nerf it a 3rd time, also mining IS worth it, his calculation are not totally accurate, as he doesnt calculate ALL the items he got in that 30mins, 289 stones is 280/2 = 140 bricks worth 10g each if you had to buy them, thats another 1,400g...the bugs etc and also the gold ore which is THE main reason you want to be mining, I get his point for buying bars but saying mining is not worth it is kinda weird
If they nerf the ways people make money any further they had better think hard about reducing the high costs they currently have for expanding storage, inventory, and your house. They will lose players if it become yet more grindy
@@theguru143 inventory is not expensive, the iron chest does cost 100k but in the actual state of the game its ok to be a little grindy, otherwise you will own eveything and then ask for new contents every 2weeks... also some players (like me) already made over 2.5m gold and to be fair I dont even know what to buy because I have evrything, good thing there are 10k zekis coin so I can get carrot seeds from them.
To find any cash on the ground one must first leave the house. I'm 100% sure there is no cash on the floor in my house anymore ^^ Great video as always. Keep up the work as I think it's nice to play and hear you ramble about the game in the background :)
I appreciate your videos...and did laugh at the "no social life" comment. So, I am commenting for the algorithm. Keep up the good work. Maybe do a video of the gatherable spots (finding Dari cloves is a PAIN and spawns on cliffs can be hard to see) or how to not get lost in the mines (I ran around in a circle a few times before realizing I wasn't going anywhere!)
I like to go around and farm iron, because i need the stone too and its a nice way for me to get silk too, when i farm I just go around farming resources, im just chilling
I have a palium route that I follow religiously. I mine out all the nodes on this route stone, iron and palium so on respawn I end up getting quite alot of iron and a fair bit of palium. I enjoy mining but feel we need more ore to drop and the sell price of flint/ores could do to increase a bit.
Thanks for putting in the work, mining has always felt a little burdensome in relation to other activities. Hunting and farming are at good points, at least to me and I'm a newer player, where I can make what I need in a reasonable amount of time or buy something if I need an item to finish a quest. The balance works for me there, but mining has always felt like it takes too long. Five ore per bar, regardless of rarity is a lot, plus the time running around. Hopefully the devs will tweak it some to make it more of a useful skill and make the activity worth my time, rather than just jack up the prices in the store...
Its worth it if you don't have that kind of gold to just burn, most of us this early in the game are saving gold to buy other more important things. Also, if you just buy everything, are you even really playing at that point? Going out there is half the fun. Maybe that's just me though
Buff mining for sure increase chance of rares. Also I can't find any of the the purple glowing infused trees when I run the route does graphic settings effect how well u can see them?
hey, just party up with someone and go to light house. there is enchanted wood spawn and u just need to clear all other trees to force spawn the enchanted tree. we got 30 infuse wood in 30 min.
I like your palia vids, so here's a long wall of text you shouldn't read. Iron's a weird resource, I think in some ways it feels less valuable than copper, which is much easier to obtain. Prior to trying to level up my furniture crafting, my iron needs were quite minimal. An example of the irony. Repair kits, iron made repair kits grant you 40 bags whereas Copper made repair kits grant you 20. So it's more efficient to make iron on paper because you can't queue crafts. However, with the copper update I find copper so easily that it'd be quicker to find the copper, smelt it and craft the bags twice. Then to look for the Iron to begin with, not including the facts that copper is found directly outside and iron requires walking or teleporting to bahari bay or the smelting times between the ore. Not even mentioning the 60 bag repair kit, which asks for resources several multitudes rarer than the previous tiers but keeps a 20 formula. The fact flow infused wood and a palium bar only equate to a worth of 20 more repair kits despite being very well 20x harder to source in normal circumstances is something I find very strange. I think this is a problem that stems from too linear thinking in how crafts should level up with rarity, but also that crafting has no real crafting time attached to it, and maybe it shouldn't honestly. The crafting time comes from the amount of time required to navigate a list menu they should consider altering, watching a 2-3 second animation and the amount of time it would take to processes and gather those resources. Repair kits are always relevant, Copper will always be king because it saves you so much time compared to the others. Assuming you aren't just a cash chad and just pay for your repairs at Sifuus that's the really smart thing to do honestly.
Buying silk at the price of 145g from Tish's store is definitely worth it. In half an hour you made basically 4 silk. For later things like Dragontide or Bellflower furniture you need enough of these for certain items as well and simply farming them takes way longer this way.
You know the devs will nerf the value of every other skill to match the mining instead of fixing mining. I have to say as well that your run was very successful when compared to my server instance...I was lucky for the first few days I had a fine pick, to even find 3 palium over a 30 - 45 minute mining run. There are still days, even using the palia maps site, that I dont find any palium at all, and only 50 - 60 iron. I know the devs are wanting to extend out the game play, to give you more chances to 'want' to spend real world money on the game, but finding that balance sweet spot between grinding and fun is a very tedious process and usually takes it's toll on the players over that time.
Play style is going to factor a ton into things.....as well as whether someone is a good old fashioned "loot goblin". Example of myself....."runs" are for no more than 2-3 items. If it's not on the list, I don't even slow down. ONLY exception is if things are literally in my path or right beside the item I'm after. Other folks will go single item, or in packs. If that's the server I'm on I switch. Efficiency is good...in it's time and place. It's more efficient to collect as you go than only focus solo items.....this way, every run nets some and the end results are like the penny a day doubled question. Just IMHO and playstyle.
What is your stone trick you were talking about? I need a lot of stone for glass, bulbs, and also just bricks whenever I expand my house. I dread mining, because I need so much copper and it is the worst to get. There are not a lot of nodes and if there's other people farming good luck. And even if you get a bunch it doesn't produce that many bars.
can you still even make 20k an hour hunting since they nerfed the prices and then nerfed the spawn rate of deer? you can also craft the mining tracking items pretty cheaply once ur mining highers higher (higher chance of dropping rare ore) to help optimize your time, and if u were able to make 10-13k value of iron in 30 min, thats just as good as pre nerf hunting value if not better, and your also getting stone and other items. Though i agree that mining in general could use alittle more love, upping the ore drop amount of the smaller nodes would be helpful, feels almost pointless mining the tiny ones that may only give u 1 ore. but honestly this game is still very poorly balanced for cash with the way cooking is right now, can easily get 60-70k gold an hour joining a cooking group which is superior by several times to anything else.
i find it weird you have to find so much ore to make the bars, heck, silver and gold drop that infrequently that they should be 2 for 1 at most while copper and iron should be 3 for 1
I think that personally that after enjoying the copper and clay buffs, they could simply add a good few new nodes about so where we don't feel out of nodes when doing loops; because you 100% notice when someone else is mining in your area.
i bet his stone mining strat is make new accounts and mine all the stone on the new plot you need friends, cause they log into an alt, then you log into an alt. that's why the devs wont approve.
Hunting might be more effective but for me it is too boring. And if I buy everthing in the shops I miss a lot of the gameplay. The problem is at a certain level of your skills and friendships you can only farm gold to expand your house. That's the point where I will stop playing and waiting for new quests or other activities.
Not everything needs to be "worth" it, it's just a chill game to enjoy and pass some time and have fun with friends. Go gather, farm, collect, design, fish or whatever make you feel good. Sorry to say, but all the videos I see across the internet is just ways to get more gold, players after 2-3 weeks already at their end-game content with thousands of gold, everything maxed out... What will be in a month or two? You'll become grinded and quit the game. Just enjoy and have fun bud.
There are things in the game that you can't buy and have to grind for, case in point - items that require you to use up skill tokens to buy. What the issue is here, in my honest opinion, is that mining relative to other skills does NOT respect your time as much as other skills when engaging in them and therefore it isn't worth it. That said, the only thing you'd need a lot of iron for is the resource dump that is furniture crafting, as the only other consistent use is arrows and repair kits which you can argue in the case of fine arrows that you don't really need them and really, how often do you use dispel arrows? I don't think it's meant to be a gold making method at all.
I have noticed that the higher your mining is the more chances you get for silver and gold ore. But I agree it should be buffed. I also think silk three should be buffed as well. Every bug should drop it not just rare ones

Ages ago when this game was in alpha the devs talked how each piece of furniture, each decoration, would have a "use." For instance, decorating your house with specific hunter furniture would give you hunting buffs, and in the village, specializing your house would be fundamental in playing a role. So if I decorated a house with full hunting stuff, I could still go fishin', but the "fisher" of the village who decorated their house with fishing stuff would have me beat, and we'd work together to reach our goals. Of course games change over the development cycle but I was hoping that functionality still remains. The reason we have multiple build slots is so you can "respec" and swap from being a hunter to a fisherman if you wanted to grind out multiple specializations, but now it's just a multiplayer Animal Crossing, which is fine too.
