I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today is April 19, 2019. It is Good Friday. This passage from the Book of Hebrews will most likely be read in churches today. Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the Cross for our sins.
Thank you Pastor John Piper. I love your passion for the word and your pursuit to know its truths; to proclaim the sovereignty of God through Jesus. I have not seen such a God given passion and desire. So I thank God who evidently answers your prayers to know Him as it is evident in the way you teach and expound on the Word of God. May God continue to pour into you so that you can pour into others the wondrous beautiful misteries of His Word. You inspire me to pick up my bible and pray to delight in it. God is great. xx
Tom Bladecki With all love I am glad to hear there is someone else out there who understands the reality of what is happeneing you are so accurate, but be careful with your righteous fury. It was only a corrected spelling mistake. Not an attempt to denounce God. Some of Gods children like things spelled accurately. Its a joy to have this help. Continue to proclaim the truth God has given you with all gentleness, and love (2 Timothy 2:25). God bless :D
i cannot believe nobody has given an answer after 1 month.. God sent the 3rd person of the trinity to redeem man, not to save himself. Jesus is Christ the Redeemer not Christ the self saver.

Is the redeemed then why did he ask god to save him if he was to be crusified that's why we muslim say that god send him to the heaven not crusified because if that was so then that means god had no control and Jesus was a ordinary man then
Jesus was saved from death by not failing the trial of cross The only thing that could wrap Jesus in death would be if his human nature failed in the crucifiction But God granted that He could endure this moment , giving Him strenght , showing Him all reward and Joy He would have by fullfil his mission. Glory to God!!!! Jesus is such a great savior

It simple means that Jesus did not die on the cross. He was saved. If he actually died (even if he came back to life) he was NOT saves from death! So the verse would be false! And Jesus becoming the eternal salvation for those who obey him also simply means those who obey him. Qhat did he say? Only pray to God The Father. And only The Father is God. Jesus did not die for anyone's sins: 1. That would be injustice from God. It would be like punishing your brother for your own crimes EVEN if you agreed to be punished. Its still injustice. 2. It goes against the bible itself. Jeremiah 31:30 All people will die for their own sins-those who eat the sour grapes will be the ones whose mouths will pucker. All people will die for their own sins! Nobody dies for you! Stop doing crimes and letting Jesus pay for it. He will not pay for your criminal actions! Only you will!
Abdul you don't decide who's to die for whom , your pagan prophet asked you to kiss black stone and circumambulate Kaaba as pagan did before , you questioned while your head was spinning ? No . Your prophet said Allah has two right hands , you questioned what does he do to clean his butt ? No . Your prophet said Allah has a shin , you asked does he play football with that ? No . Your prophet said Allah can't have a son because he doesn't have a wife , did you try to search for him one ? No . Your prophet explained if he were to take a women it would be among you , did you raise your hand to send your mother ? No . Why then you question something which is conspicuous in bible ? Starting from genesis 1 he's been giving cues that Jesus would come and die for our sins , read Isaiah 53 , you'll see how , but nonetheless you don't want to, why ? Because you're biased Muslim who has a presupposition that Islam is true , so let me ask you from your Quran , where in your Quran it says bible is corrupted and it's not word of Allah ? If it doesn't then in bible it says Jesus is God and hence your Quran nothing but a sex book for Muhammad
