MATLAB Simulation of V2G, G2V Operation in Electric Vehicle Charger (3 Phase Model).

  • In this video, i am explaining about the MATLAB simulation of a bi-directional battery charging/discharging circuit capable of charging from the grid or dis-charging to the grid. This simulation can also be used as a demonstration of V2G, G2V operation present in the EV Charger. Control block diagram used for the simulation is also explained in the video.

    Hi I am also a researcher. Working on a same kind of work. I just followed your simulation, but I didn't get the results as you explained. My P and Q are always negative. I even change the battery voltage into 30 and -30. According to your explanation my simulation only working for G2V

    Sir, in the control block diagram you show +Ibatref and -Ibat in the current controller, but why in the simulation it is -Ibatref and +Ibat? Can you explain please...

    Got a query. Why do you flip the current measurement block placed in the front end rectifier just after the LCL filter? You are measuring current in the opposite direction. Why is it so? Any specific reason? And I see, if I put the current measurement block in a normal way, your controls doesnt work at all.

      You can connect the current sensor in whatever direction you want, but accordingly you need to change the controller block to make it work.
      "How to wrtite the "Error" term while implementing PI controller? Fundamental concept explained!" this is the video i made few months back. you can watch this video and understand the concept behind the how we connect the sensor and accordingly how controller block changes. this is explained for buck converter, similar concept you can apply for any converter

    But i have questions. What is the purpose of the constant value 800 in DC bus voltage to EV system and if we varies the value, how it will affect the system? i will looking foward for your respond sir. Tq

    Great effort! I've learned a lot from you. However, in all the simulations I have conducted, the current output signal is not stable. There must be something not explained in the controller part.

      Change the IGBTs to MOSFET. This worked on me.

    Its showing errors
    1) Matching "From" for "Goto" "New/Goto4" not found
    2) Output port 3 of "New/Demux1" is not connected

    For G2V application grid voltage and grid current is not maintaining upf condition, so how it justifies the G2V charging. Kindly clear this doubt
