MATLAB Simulation of V2G, G2V Operation in Electric Vehicle Charger (Single Phase Model).

  • In this video, i am explaining about the MATLAB simulation of a bi-directional battery charging/discharging circuit capable of charging from the grid or dis-charging to the grid. This simulation can also be used as a demonstration of V2G, G2V operation present in the EV Charger. Control block diagram used for the simulation is also explained in the video.

    Why do you think EV manufacturers haven’t widely adopted V2G capability? Is it due to cost, or is it too complex a task to manage?

    Sir/ma'am, can you pls do the performance analysis and show me what will be the EFFICIENCY of the G2V model? actually i tried finding out the efficiency but while calculating I am getting the output power is more than my input power though i got the same values and waveform as you. Please help me out.

    Battery voltage should decrease over time during V2G operation and vice versa.
    Battery current should increase during V2G operation and vice versa.. isn't it?

    Battery Nominal voltage is set to 160v but in the output, we are getting 172V

    I'm not getting the output I am getting same wrong output for both V2G and G2V mode I have checked the parameters thrice and there is no deviation from your model

    Something is not right in the active rectifier circuit. Mine is unstable and the circuit, values, and settings are per the video. The DC/DC section looks OK.

      I should add the 2-level PWM block goes from zero to full duty cycle with an input swing of -1 to +1V. The input I see goes hundreds of volts plus and minus.

      Whoops! Gotta use the right IGBT, the one with the diode. Then it works.

    If you start using that high inductance obviously you will get sinusoidal current input … input inductance is too huge
