I was riding a Yamaha WR450 and it had plenty of power and tons of fun. The real beast however was the Husaberg 650. If you get a chance to ride a snowbike like this, DO IT!!!

How do they do in medium snow? Thinking of getting one but we don't have this kind of limitless snow. Right now we have 115 cm and thats a good winter for us.

Rarely, but yes on ski resorts and thick wooded areas in winter they can use these bikes to scout and sometimes rescue lost or injured persons, but only if the snowmobiles are in the shop of the area is to thick to move through.
Is it comparable to riding n the sand with a paddle.. I have a place in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan I own lot of snowmobiles and dirt bikes this is God's gift to adrenaline junkies
I disagree on that point. Sleds high point exceptionally better. That being said, I just crushed 16 inches of fresh pow, on top of a sturdy base today on my buddies snowbike. Think more zig zag up a slope, and straight line up a bit here and there. i got stuck a couple times, but this was my FIRST day out. That's the other point....with motorcycle skills, I just crushed terrain (thick trees, rocky ridge connects), that would take me a decade to get good enough on a sled to do.

how do you shift with big insulated boots on??? I couldn't see being able to wear riding boots.

You may be correct but I find that very hard to believe for how fast they're moving through the snow in high elevations. I'm assuming they're 450's.
