1. Taylor wrote this song in the hallway of a Nashville recording studio in her journal.
2. It took 45 minutes to write this song.
3. This song received 2 Grammy Awards; Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performace.
4. Taylor had the intro music and first verse of ‘White Horse’ done before she called Liz Rose to help her with it.
5. Lyrically, the track speaks of disillusionment and pain in a relationship, drawing references to fairytales. "To me, 'White Horse' is about what, in my opinion, is the most heart-breaking part of a break-up - that moment when you realize that all the dreams you had, all those visions you had of being with this person, all that disappears," Taylor said.

We all have those moments in life that we think of as safe and one of the best things used to bring us back to those times is music because it gives us the unclouded space in our minds to think back and be that person we were back then. Even an old love letter uses our eyes and the focus to read so your mind can't be taken away to that place 100%. it's one of the reasons people go out and find poetry readings instead of reading poetry books themselves. The books don't work as well as doing nothing and letting your mind go free while listening to others reading it and feeling what that person is talking about and how they are feeling at that moment. Plus the songs are locked into whatever time you not only heard it but actually listened to the words, while thinking of how you related to it at that moment.
