It’s crazy how pure country this song is. I never realised it when I was younger. This is probably the first country music video filmed in Paris. The hints of retro 1950s inspiration is also super unique. Her ability to break the mould of what country music is was unprecedented. I wonder if she’ll ever return to the genre.

I agree. 4yrs ago, I was in a toxic relationship & the guy was awful, abusive, and narcissistic. After I finally left him, I was so broken, I didn't think I'd ever be whole again. Then I met my current boyfriend and he saw just how broken I was and he took the time to put me back together. 3.5yrs later, we're still together and I'm the happiest I've ever bee. But I would listen to this song a lot during the 6mo after my ex and I broke up. It helped a lot.
Left a 5-year toxic relationship a year ago and still healing. Not sure if I'm able to fall in love again because am feeling numb in love already.

Personally always thought RED is her best album so far yet. It perfectly portrayed her transition from a young woman to a mature grown up lady. She looked and sounded the most endearing at the time. Her songs from that album spoke volume and it just felt distinct from her other albums.

I want to say I agree, but you're halfway there. I feel like the song speaks more of how a mentally toxic relationship can shape your expectations in future relationships. This song is really hits different after i broke up with my toxic ex.
The reason why i broke up with him is, he never appreciate me for who i am. He always compared me to other people aka his first love, he said i can't cook well than his ex, can't do make up well than his ex, and bla-bla-bla.
So i just end our relationship after 4 years trying to be happy with him.
And, i actually met someone in bakery(i went there to bought some mouse cake), and he complimented me, said my dress is pretty(even he doesn't saw my face because i was wear mask), and he asked me about the delicious cake in the bakery, and i told him my favorite, we actually share a few words, and we make a promise to meet again in the weekend.
