I like the design of some of IKEA products. Everyone, due to price, must realize that quality and craftsmanship will be sacrificed. I do not like to hear that the labor standards are subpar. However, I do know that many people design products in their country and then have these products made in China. China is know for very poor labor standards.
I’ve never stepped into an ikea don’t care to, don’t like modern, which is cookie cutter same everywhere and you can identify how cheap and cheap looking it is. I’m not intrigued since you’ve expressed bad labor practices so it’s definitely out, was going to look but not now. Seemingly the big business are folding and going under due to bad practices. It’s up to us consumers to learn and study, it’s on us. Thanks 🙏🏻
Sadly, too many of Ikea's products do not last as long as one would like, especially the particle board furniture. MFI and Hygena QA used to be in the UK, doing something similar with flat-pack furniture and kitchens but nothing like the scale or choice that Ikea have. They don't seem to have a rival, still, so are clearly doing something right.
