This area is a Geologic Treasure... So much to see. If you can, check out the surface rupture/fault crack of the ridgecrest quake next time you're in the area. Stater Bros has some pretty good asada!

@@bustabeatgeorge yeah no doubt I'm always down. We'll have to figure something out. Maybe when the Sierra situation improves. As far as access, we can do some off-road camping/fishing trip up there. There's also Big Bear and local mountains are starting to really pick up. We'll figure it out... Probably a cool trip
It is such a cool place to visit! We were surprised by how few people were there and how many people we chat with who didn't know about it. One of the neatest places!
Follow the mine cart tracks from the ore chute to the main mine. Nice big vein of copper still visible.

You have to put the potatoes on some hot coals my guy. Not directly in the flame. It helps keep them from burning while getting them soft inside 🤘🏼

That sweet potato sounds great, just need to be cooked. If you put some wet paper between 2 layers of tin foil it helps prevent burning your food from burning

What an adventure
My dad used to wrap a red onion in foil and drop it in the pit for a while. Roll it around some... and it came out like candy. Those sweet potatoes would of been fine with a little more time or rolling around in the fire.
