So-Hyang is a real beast
I discovered her years ago and it was her voice and spirit that helped me recover after receiving a heart transplant. It brought me a sense of peace and serenity, it was as if God used as conduit to tell everything would be okay!

Sohyang is like an angel. It's so nice to see her reaction.
We _all_ count the day that we discovered So Hyang as a direct blessing from God. We really do. Even the atheists who turn up will say they are now far from certain that God doesn't exist anymore. Actually most don't come right out and say that, but it is between the lines.
And we _all_ expend no end of superlatives in some sort of attempt to praise So Hyang's singing and performing to an adequate degree. And _none_ of us can do it. Then there is the example she sets in striving to overcome her health problems, and succeeding in giving absolutely mind blowing performances when she is clearly not well. Again, words are inadequate.
If you want some real entertainment, just watch other reactors discover So Hyang for the first time. The looks on their faces, just like the look on yours when you first discovered her a week ago, is a genuine joy in this life. Some break down in tears. Others simply can't speak. Literally. We have seen people struck dumb and just get up and walk away from their broadcast set and disappear out the door, not to be seen again until they do their next reaction to her. Ha, ha, ha! I mean, I really have to laugh when I think about some of them. Jaws on floors is so common it is hardly worth mentioning anymore.
In fact, I personally have never seen a negative reaction to her. I have heard of one but never seen it. (It is notorious among her fans on RUclips here.) Apparently the "vocal coach" from New York City and her boyfriend insisted that So Hyang's performance was _not_ live. It was too perfect and no one can sing that perfectly live. So she was a phony. When they learned in no uncertain terms that So Hyang does give _perfect_ vocal performances, and lots of them, they quickly took down their review and tried to substitute it with a glowing appraisal. No one was buying their new found "faith" and I don't know if they are even on RUclips any longer. Their credibility as vocal coaches was shattered.
So Hyang is also a chameleon. She just has to change her hair style and she looks like an entirely different woman. I'm not kidding. Some women are like that, and So Hyang is one of them. You'll see once you react to more of her performances.
She does all the musical arrangements in conjunction with her family and a few others. They are all amazingly talented people musically speaking, so So Hyang found the perfect husband and family for herself.
Here is the link to an hour long interview So Hyang did with a Turkish music producer named Emre Yucelen. There are really good English subtitles that Emre has provided, you just have to turn them on. He saw her on RUclips and just had to meet her so he flew all the way to South Korea after receiving So Hyang's approval for the interview. I will say this. So Hyang just oozes genuine charm and gratitude, and is like a little kid when she is pleased! That she loves God, I have no doubt. 😉👌💖👍🎶
PS This interview was done in 2018 when So Hyang was off stage for a bit of a prolonged period due to repeated bouts of pneumonia.
She is the epitomy of singing and arranging, we are so lucky to be able to receive her art. Thanks for your reaction.
Mind blowing performance and arrangement. Glad you persevered and managed to get this uploaded. You are right, there have been so many covers of this song, but none like Sohyang's, she made this unique and her own, as usual. Michael Bolton called her a virtuoso after this performance and invited her to join him on tour, and she did join him for a couple of his concerts in Korea. You must check out her rendition of Arirang Alone next, also from Immortal Songs 2 (2015). BTW, don't worry about having to blur or edit the video, the vast majority of Sohyang fans understand, just don't change the the sound (eg change the pitch etc). Thank you for a great reaction. When they went to Michael Bolton for his comments he literally couldn’t speak. When he composed himself he simply said ‘that was spectacular’ & then when on to say that she had taken the role of ‘virtuoso’.
You have reacted to 2 Sohyang performances now & been blown away both times so you can be forgiven for thinking that you’ve been fortunate to have picked her 2 best performances because surely she can’t do any better, but as you react to more performances you will realise that this feeling of shock & been blown away, as well as the goosebumps, are feelings that seem to accompany all of her performances, even performances that you’ve already seen give you the chills all over again. I have seen her performance of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ in to the 100’s of times & it was my 1st experience of her & each time, although I am very familiar with every second of that song, I still get goosebumps!!!!
I am excited for you as I see the enjoyment she brings you & I know that if you continue on your Sohyang journey, you are going to have many more experiences like the one’s you’ve had so far. Also, I can’t wait for you to see how she tackles covers of the songs made famous by Whitney houston because I think that is the ultimate test, if you can not only keep the high standard of vocals from one of the greatest diva’s of all time, but sometimes surpass them,then you’re not mot doing too bad!! (‘I have nothing’ at the DMC festival & ‘I will always love you’ from the ‘begin again Korea’ series).
I can’t wait for your next reaction, I am trying to imagine what you’ve been recommended, as in my experience there seems to be a pattern & I wouldn’t be surprised if next on your list is ‘Arirang alone’ which is a traditional Korean folk song which has been turned in to a more of an anthem by sohyang’s amazing talent for musical arrangements. I would suggest that you try & watch all her performances of songs your not familiar with on ‘Vimeo’ as they usually provide eng.subs, & unless you already know the song, like the 2 you’ve already seen, there’s a good chance that it will be in Korean or a mix of Korean & English, even though it may have an English title. Never be put off watching a performance if subs aren’t available because subs will only enhance yr enjoyment, not having them will by no means spoil your enjoyment, because trust me, this is one lady who through the way she sings, the way she tells a story through her music, can make you ‘feel’ the meaning of the song without actually knowing the lyrics. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve heard people say that although subs were provided they didn’t actually read them because they were so mesmerised by her.
Enjoy your sohyang journey & treasure every moment because she is special & you should count yourself blessed that you doing your channel & sohyang’s singing career are at the same time. Just think that if you weren’t doing your channel, you wouldn’t have been doing reactions, therefore you would have had no recommendations & ultimately you would never have heard this angel sing.

You have to see the whole show, to that final part when Bolton comments her performance calling her virtuosa. He barely cant evaluate her. He was really impressed (no wonder... :D) TRy now Arirang Alone or if you want some recent stuff Misty, I Wont Give Up or anything really, she never fails. And when you think that you have reacted enough of her, you react to Everyone with subtitles. That's one of the hardest songs ever and a song that So Hyang would won an olympic gold medal of singing, if such contest would exist. Singing Masterclass. I ve subscrived you and will wait for it. And of course, waiting for you to start to react to Dimash - the ultimate King of Singing. ;)

Glad you got the video to stay up- and kept the sound. You will find most of us Sohyang fans will be happy so long as the sound isn't distorted.
Micheal loved this, he asked Sohayng to go on tour with him after the show, she agreed to a couple of venues in South Korea. There is a fan cam of them singing 'The prayer' together.
She is an angel and at the same time, she is a beast.

Michael heard her in this and she became a guest on his tour , his exact words where "she's the best female vocalist on the planet today"
Michael Bolton’s comment after she finished singing, he said that he has heard many many versions of this song, and hers was that of a virtuoso. He was so impressed, that he returned to S. Korea 2 months later and she sang two diets with him. One being Lean On Me and the other, The Prayer. There is a song she does that is her own song called Dream. Some reactors have done or, but most skip it. It is one of her highest notes she has done live in concert. I will attach a link to the proper video. At this DMC festival she also sang Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing. Both with extremely high notes and she performed them back to back.

Arirang alone from her immortal songs 2 appearance!! Also check out her Begin Again Korean appearances. The begin again appearances were during covid and she, with other popular korean singers, went around “busking” to perform for essential workers to provide comfort and a way to thank them

How about Misty by So hyang and old Jazz song this song is about 60 years old. Shows her versatility she has done this song many times the two I love the most 2020 Begin again Korea or 2021she did with a 10 year old piano player. This is a short song so if you want maybe you could do a 2 for1 Arirang Alone 2015 or 2021 version
