I am sure that it was a bit painful to have to prepare such a basic video, but for me, it confirmed a few things that I was only guessing at before. I really appreciate you taking the time to deliver this quality, basic information for folks like me who are getting started. Cheers.
I have to completely agree, I'm a complete beginner to the audio world so this video really helped me get my equipment set up. Thanks so much!
Ditto, great video.
One of the simplest and best demonstrations I’ve watched on setting up. No pomposity. It is straight to the point and is very helpful.
This guy gives us so much more than a sales video pitch. Great job Lenny. One of the best explained simple tutorials in plain english without the usual assumption of prior knowledge of such software installations! Practical and useful info. This is 5 yrs old, but where is Len now, still working for Kosmic? He'd be an excellent audio consultant. ty.
Thanks for making it so easy to understand. Out of the box and I'm recording bass only 20 mins after watching this video like a beast. Thanks broski
This was a very insightful video. The guy lead you through bit, by bit, what needed to be done. Bravo.
thanks for giving me the faith ..i now know that with some practising i can record my own songs.many of you guys have done this before, but for me its the first time ever i am trying to learn how to record songs..so i have hours of trying, failing etc before i wil get it right..thank god for internet,,youtube and you fokes that takes the time to show us rookies how to get started!
I was having a problem getting my computer to find my interface. Your video was a big help. Thanks for taking the time to put up this video. Big Help had it working minutes after watching.
My goodness, first time that I see a video explaining exactly what I need to learn. Thanks a lot!!!! Greetings from Argentina
Hi Leonard,
I wish that I had had access to your tutorial when I was starting out because it is the clearest, most comprehensive, and easily understandable that I have seen/heard, not only about the topics at hand, but also including tips and other useful pieces of information.
Thanks.
that cherry desk looks really nice.
Thank you Leonard... I know how boring it probably had been for you doing so basic stuff to show us.. Bus I really appreciate it. Thanks for great tips :)
Thanks man I bought the audio box pack without the mic I jus want to transfer a lot of tapes , vinyl ( ima audio junkiie ) not to concerned with a mic right now. Anyway got the thing in feb couldn't get the thing to work so after I put the blunts down cleared my head I found you on the tube. Best introduction for this thing i've seen. Thanks again !
Thanks very much for the demonstration. I appreciate the step by step manner you use. Makes it very easy for a first timer.
Thank you so much! Honestly every other video talked about instruments and I just need audio for recording thank you very much!!
Thanks Leonard, I've been watching DAW tutorials all week and this is the best demonstration I've seen yet. I like the way everything comes in a kit. Are there other kits like this with the mike, cables, headphones ect.?
Uploads like these are the best. Full of knowledge and helpful information, with thorough explanation from an experienced user. Thank you so much!
This was by far the absolute best video especially for me just purchasing the product today. I’ve been looking for hours and everyone explains things as if they are at least intermediate users. Again, outstanding video thank you for this!!!!!! I will definitely be subscribing to you.
YOUR VIDEOS ARE VERY INFORMATIVE & EASY TO UNDERSTAND - MANY THANKS LEONARD !
This had to be the best overall presentation I have seen. Even though I am a Windows Platform and using an M Audio Fast Track on an E Drum kit, I understood and now have things I can check to make it work properly. Thank You for the video.
I can always count on "Kosmic" information and explanations to be awesome...easy to understand and very useful!! Thanks!
just wanted to give you your props on these videos. they're always very detailed but simple enough to follow for both beginners and the more experienced. love your review style. keep doing your thing. thanks, bro
.
im using pro tools on a macbook pro. i bought a audio box usb personus pre amp, but when i connect it my mac its not reading it... i when to setting/sound and its not popping up, what could be the problem?
Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. Really basic, but I had no idea where to even start.
Thank you Leonard, this was extremely helpful. I just started learning to use n-Track, which is less complicated than Logic (and I need a change of pace anyway). I already have the presonus audiobox and a couple of the presonus firestudio 8's in my studio. I'm investing time in the n-Track because it lightwieght and simple for getting past the procrastination with having too much that takes away from my inspiration with logic. I may at this point do all of my major recording with n-Track and just revert to Logic to Master. I've just subscribed, I'm sure I could learn alot from you. Cheers!
Excellent instructional set-up overview. Being new myself I could have benefited from this when I got started. Since the rules apply for just about any interface box, I feel that this video should be required viewing. Thanks!
Leonard, thank you! I am building a studio and I will be purchasing the Pre sonus audio box, as well as the pre sonus studio one 3 very soon. I have been playing guitar for 25 years but Im very new to the studio side of things, so Im sure glad I found your videos on this!
DUDE! AS A 30yr GUITAR PLAYER NEW TO DIGITAL RECORDING: DO NOT GET THE PRESONUS AUDIOBOX OR STUDIO 1! THE MIC PRES SOUND AWFUL! PLUS, EVEN WITH THE GAIN SET TO ZERO, A MILD SPANK FROM A GUITAR WITH PASSIVE PICKUPS WILL CAUSE THE "BAD" BLUE LIGHTS TO FLASH SHOWING YOU WHEN AND WHERE YOU'RE RECORDING DISTORTION. STUDIO 1 IS SO "USER-UNFRIENDLY" IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY:
GET LOGIC PRO X: $200 AND YOU GOT THE BEST (OPINION) DAW EVER FOR HALF THE PRICE OF OTHER HIGH END DAWS. AND IF YOU'RE THINKING OF GETTING AN AUDIOBOX WITH THE FREE STUDIO 1 DOWNLOAD: IT'S "STUDIO 1 ARTIST", WHICH MEAN YOU CANNOT USE ANYTHING 3RD PARTY. NO PLUG-INS OR ANYTHING. I HAD TO SPEND AN EXTRA $80 FOR THE REWIRE SUPPORT PACKAGE. TOTAL RIP OFF. IF YOU WANNA GET OVERWHELMED REALLY FAST WHILE STARING AT A SCREEN OF STUFF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND: PRESONUS 'STUDIO 1' IS FOR YOU. ;) (jus' tryin' to help, bro!) Peace.
thats exactly where i'm at! probably wont be able to figure it all out, a downer for me as a beginner just trying to mess with recording guitar!
thanks man! this is helping us get started with our first podcast. cheers from California!
on the back of the Presonus Audiobox 22VSL there is a midi input/output.You can check on the Presonus Audiobox website. The cable you would need would be a standard in/out midi cable you can get from a Guitar Center or your nearest music store
Thank you very much for this tutorial. Although I am going with Focusrite and Logic, this has really helped me gain some elementary understanding of how to proceed. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much I was actually never recording right lol! But thanks to you guys at Kosmic now i realize why i wasnt getting the sound i wanted!
man - you make it look so easy. I bought a m-track plus. my 6 year old toshiba couldn't find it. Even after I downloaded all the drivers it still said not connected. I ended up downloading asios4all. When I started using ableton software, it was all a bunch of gobbltygook. Just had to take my audio interface back.
Thanks so much for your informative video! You have really made it much easier to understand how to set up an audio interface!
Many Blessings,
Carol
Leonard another excellent tutorial. Once my new Work Station is built plugging in my yet unused interface will be a breeze. cheers Peter
Thanks Leonard, concise and informative, been singing at home a few years now but have been using internal pcie soundcard, about to purchase the Scarlett 8i6 and this will definitely help. I do hope I don't need to worry about latency but will ask about stuff like that when I purchase. Keep up the good vids man.
Thankyou, I have had a Sapphire Pro 24 in a box for the last 2 years - I am now going to give it a go as I tried and failed before!
this is the best video on youtube that explane the usb audio interface >>> thanx alot man >>i late only 7 years !!
this guy should get a raise in pay, great video,,thanks Leonard,
Very important the Audio Options Part, thanks a lot.
Best instructional set up video I have ever seen!
Thank you so much! I had problems getting my microphone to work! Thanks to this, It's now working fully! :)
Thanks mister. That was just what I needed to get me going. I was having trouble with the I/O bits, but all sorted now. Cheers, Donny N
Leonard, Thanks man. You just helped an old man stop from pulling the last vestiges of hair from his head!!! Now Happy in Vermont
Nice demonstration and installation guide. Thanks.
Excellent video. Just what I was looking for. I just bought the PreSonus USB and was at a lost as how to set it up.
RUclips University! I love it Man. Thank for taking Timing out of your day to show Us how to do this.🙏👌🤘
Great tutorial!! I just installed it step by step according to everything you talked about. Thanks!
Thanks. Love your videos Leonard! I'm still trying to decide on an audio interface for my NI Maschine
What about the feedback of the monitor speakers? How can you lower these two while recording? Thanks, brilliant explanation by the way
Great tutorial ,very helpful Leonard.Thanks
Good Day,
Dear Bro, your session was amazing and crystal clear. hats off to you....Zakir Hussain
Jesus! I fuckin love your desk and your gear man! Nice video! You got serious money in those monitors and everything!
holy... those speakers look intimidating, I love it
Thank you , sir, for all your hard work. That was a superb presentation.
Very self explamatory. You did a good job.
Thank you very much, this helped me get my little studio set up!
Excellent video, helped me a lot for my kiddos in classroom. Great.
if you have a 3.5mm converter for the chord. if you have the beats mixrs, then they shouldve come with a bigger looking headphone jack. thats what youll use to plug into the audiobox! hope that helped...
would you recommend this bundle for an amateur Singer/Songwriter looking to record some demos and maybe mess around with some MIDI keyboard and editing?
i would! great complete pack!!
Watch the video at 14:00, it sounds like your problem is that you don't have the right devices selected in your recording software. You need to make sure you have the external sound card selected and that the correct input is selected.
Great video, extremely helpful, more helpful than Presonus's vids.
Great video dude. I am going to start voiceover work soon and this does help. Thanks brother.
Thanks for explaining the Class Compliance thing. Very important to know.
Thanks Leonard ! Very good job and well done !!
What if I wanted to use an external preamp, compressor or eq on the way in as I record? Will you do a tutorial on that? Using ths same interface above. Great video!!!!!!!
You can use whatever Daw you like. I use Reaper and it works like a charm!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you.
This is so awesome!!!! thank you for how this. For a complete novice... just learning what an XLR Cable is....... this was so helpful. Can I ask now what site you are recording on? I have been told Garage Band is good... I have a Mac. Cheers, from London UK
Really great video mate,,,,thanks so much,,,getting this next week and this has helped so much. really well presented. nice man
Excellent!! sir!! well I used to sing and play keyboard..so what is the budget I need to think when I wanna buy audio-box and other stuff which you showed?
Great vid mate, I learned a lot there. Many thanks!!!!
really great tutorial here...thanks for posting
Love that desk you're using do you know what kind it is? looking to build a home studio!
R.I.P. Kosmic Sound. Sorry you went bust, such a great store over the years
Great and detailed video. Thank you
I learn so much from Leonard!!
Great video helped me out a lot👍🏽
Yes, Just use the alternate headphone jack that comes with them. I use them and I dont know why people complain about them. I use Studios, Pros, and I've used Mixers. I love using them. I used the ones that came with the PreSonus audiobox studio bundle and prefer beats. But I guess just like with FL Studio vs Other DAW's, Beats vs Other Headphones will never be publicly accepted.
Great video. One question, I thought it was a good idea to plug the monitor speakers in the interface to get the sound directly out of it. Where do you have plugged the speakers then? Directly to the computer build-in output? If so, does the sound come out from the internal soundcard even with the interface plugged in and selected? Thanks. PC user by the way.
Dude God Bless You & Your whole Crew!!
Thanks a lot this video tutorial was really helpful.
Thanks, your infos are really helpful and time-saving !
Nice video! You got a thumbs up as soon as you relieved my dread since i dont have an optical disk drive for disks in my computer build. lmao I know most do have the ability to download drivers but i was nervous when you didn't mention it at first... whew... i was thinking about an updated version of this interface due to being on a budget... along with some presonus studio monitors. Unless anyone else has recommendations so i can learn from others mistakes? haha
Very good video. I hope you keep making these type of videos for beginners such as myself. I am new to Presonus Studio One and also new to any recording software. Most instructional videos on RUclips are for more advanced users. Thanks.
Thank you very much for the video! It's very helpful for me.
@Kosmic Do the interphase HAVE to be connected to a computer in order for the mic to turn on???
A standard quater-inch Jack/Jack should work on most! (the cable you use for your amp :))
Leonard freakin killed this video. Super helpful!!!
The problem is simple in that you are getting electric feedback because you are probably powering your decks mixer and pc from the same power circuit. Use a long extension from somewhere else in the house to seperate your pc from the decks
and that should fix it up!
Thank you so much for all this helpful information!!!!
Hello Kosmic.
I have got a Korg Pa 800 and a laptop. Could you please let me know, in order to paly the keyboard and then record and burn it on a CD, what devices do I need( if possible a step by step guide, or a link or website)? Do not want to spend a lot of money! Much appreciated.
Thanks a lot for the wonderful and very helpful video
Could you please make a video on how to record a band with the motu 8 pre, want to see how it sounds as well. Thinking of buying it from your site :)
another great video. Thanks for the help.
But I need music to sing with. How do you play an instrumental track into your phones so you can sing along?
Hey great stuff. What happens if you have an audio interface but also an external audio recorder, would you use both, or would it be really one or another and used for different purposes?
omg life saver thanks btw im gonna binge watch all ur videos
This helped so much thanks 😊
Thank you for the introduction video. Is there a way to set up the Audio Box USB 96 Studio for video conferencing?
First I want to thank you for the info.
Can you tell us what you use for this tutorial (microphone, interface...)?
Thanks!
How do you put the disk in if it’s a windows laptop...?
I've recently purchased the bundle. I've got a question: if I'm able to record electric guitar in on channel and also the M7 mic in the other channel? Seeing the phantom power affects both, can I record both simultaneously?
