I first saw Taj Mahal at the Mariposa Folk Festival in Toronto back in early 70's. He had 10,000 people going nuts just by snapping his fingers, clapping his hands and singing dooba, dooba, dooba, or something like that. The man oozes rhythm. I saw him again playing back up for the Pointer Sisters in Hawaii. The last time I saw him and by far the best was at a pub in Perth West Australia. He was brought over as part of the Festival of Perth. There was only about 100 people in the audience but it was a smaller venue and the atmosphere as well as the 6 piece band was full on electric. He played for more than 3 hours. Foot stomping, knee knocking, rockin blues. The more the audience fed off the energy of the band the more the band fed off the energy of the audience. What a night. It was like having Taj play at your own private party. I don't think I ever danced so much in my life. Great upload, thanks for posting and letting me relive those memories again.

Listening in August of 2020. As always, Taj just makes things more bearable. Peace, love and healing to all that may see this.

Yes this is very nice! I got sent this by a good friend, one of our mutual friends is that lanky fellow with the sunburst Stratocaster, Denny Freeman.
Got to see these guys twice in Austin,at Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater, in October 1998 and May 2001. I already knew Denny and Larry Fulcher, the bassist, we'll, and they introduced me to the rest of the gents.
Wonderful camera work on this, glad someone saved it and uploaded it for others to see and enjoy.
We lost Denny in April 2021, and Mike Finnegan, that amazing keyboardist, a few months later. I like to think they jam together in heaven sometimes....
