Vegetables are at most mere condiment for a meat sandwich. Growing up, I never heard of a meatless sandwich other than a PB&J or cheese. Many of us meat-eaters look at vegetarian dishes with the same expression she was giving to seeing some nice juicy meats, Very funny and fun reaction!
The Coney Dog is the sandwich I remember most because I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I only like the chili and cheese, no condements.
I live in a city in California where we have a lot of vegetarian and vegan restaurants. You would be very impressed with the American vegetarian sandwich options available. I wish there was a video to share so you could see. They are super yummy. And this is coming from someone who isn’t a vegetarian/vegan. I just started loving some more vegetation options when introduced to the restaurants by a few vegan friends who wanted to go to places where they bad more choices while eating out, and I now make versions of my favorites at home. You can find amazing favors without meat.
I mean does a veggie burger count? I do like those depending on what they are made out of, but I cant imagine people are making veggie patties at home for a quick sandwich.
There’s a coffee/sandwich shop I used to go to in Utah with comic book themes that was next door to a comic book shop. They had a bagel sandwich called the Isley (named for Pam Isley/Poison Ivy from Batman) which was vegetarian. It had hummus, cucumber, tomato, some kind of greens I can’t remember offhand, and peppers if I remember correctly. It was really good.
I can confirm that the grilled cheese is very popular in Oregon. Often paired with a creamy tomato soup. Hits the spot on a wet, windy day. While Tillamook is known first and foremest for it's cheese, it also produces some of the best ice cream, as well. Popular flavors like Oregon Strawberry, Marionberry Pie, or Mountain Blackberry are common in my neck of the woods.
Regular Bagels arent sweet. There are types with fruit and cinnamon in them that are sweet, but the kind used to make sandwiches are usually plain or savory
Historically the United States is not a vegetarian Nation, nor are most Western Nations by history. So it's hard to find a vegetarian staple sandwich ingrained in the culture.
Sandwiches come in many forms. For example, the Hot Brown in Kentucky is an "open-faced" sandwich where the bread is only on the bottom. Hoagie or Hot Dog-style buns qualify as sandwiches too. It doesn't matter if it's a sausage, lobster meat or whatever kind of flesh (beef, pork, poultry, fish, reptile, etc). Vegetarian proteins can be used too (peanut butter, etc). Tofu, egg salad, etc.
Like her, I'm not a huge fan of mustard; growing up, I'd eat my fried bologna sandwiches with mayonnaise. Technically, hot dogs are sandwiches & there are people who eat them from the top instead of the ends. I agree, there should be more vegetarian sandwiches; I've come up with one of my own consisting of pita pockets, baby spring mix salad greens, carrot chips, plant-based cheese slices (love Field Roast Chao), sliced tomato, & sweet onions. Of course, I can't eat a dry sandwich so I add Follow Your Heart vegannaise.
Have you ever had a crab cake? Crab imperial? Cream of crab soup? If the menu says "Maryland style", don't bother, they aren't authentic. Come to Maryland and I'll introduce you to the Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab. Admittedly, soft crabs are a bit intimidating, but honestly, they are delicious, but we native cooks NEVER dip them in batter. . . They go straight into the frying pan. We have restaurants that only sell crabs 🦀, usually situated on a waterfront, so you can come in your boat!
Most of these are not sandwiches but meaty are the best! If vegetarian well PB&J some states did have veg like Massachusetts sandwich has the marshmallow and peanut butter sandwich, Oregon grilled cheese etc. remember this is #1 to the state they have other options
@@heatherharroff4790 guess you missed that vegan influencer that died from starvation. her body was so deprived of nutrients her flesh was breaking down and oozing out of her body

Maryland people do not like soft shell crabs mostly except for 10% get rid of this show deep fry and crap cake what The Little Old Bay sauce it's always funny when you can say somebody that's not raised around around the ocean
Bagels are not sweet at all traditionally they're either plain or they've got some sort of herb mixture and onion that's what's on top of that Bagel right there the bagel cream cheese and smoked salmon. Which is not the same as smoking ribs or brisket date it's very very far off from the heat source that's why it still looks Raw
Well about the cheese look up American cows for the most part American dairy cows look up a Holstein Jersey's guernsey's. I bet you they don't look like Indian cows different cows different milk different regions different fat content along with the different cowl different region different diet that's why lived on a farm my grandfather had Jersey cows their dairy milk is really really really high in fat the higher the natural fat content in the milk when you look inside of a bulk tank the milk will have a yellower hue that's just the butterfat that's the milk you would have for ice cream cheeses cottage cheese and my all-time favorite use for custard. But as a kid that was my one of my favorite things to do was go out to the to the milkhouse with my grandpa it'd be like somebody going to a winery or something me and him would March from the house all the way down to the barn with two glasses we get in there he lailis up two glasses straight from the bulk tank ice cold whole milk if you like vanilla milkshakes just just imagine one just smooth enough to where you just drink it that's what that tastes like. You can taste the Clover in it awesome. In America we make sure to try to keep the juice that's in the meat inside the meat. Cuz we don't want to eat a cremated brick. Like most of our dad used to due to everything that ended up on a grill
Come on technically word vegetarians to cuz everything that you see the Beef Pork Beef Pork they eat the grass they ate the vegetables and now I'm eating them😂😂😂. But lobsters not a beef or pork crabs not beef or pork Sammons not beef or pork. Come on you saw there was french fries there that's a vegetable😂. They're showing you like a certain main dish and not like a real meal not a bunch of Fred Flintstones. There there is usually a salad and then with your main course there's a vegetable maybe a potato. I'm of the believe the only reason why people are vegetarians all across the world was because the beef in the pork were scarcities. And then expecially here's just to be annoying or cool😂😂. Used to be the vegetarians the road annoying and then the different levels of vegetarians decided to attack each other and then that wasn't good enough for them we got the people that are keto friendly🤦. By the way I'm not being a jerk I'm just trying to be a funny. I figured I had to let you know because there's no context in type there's no inflection you don't get to hear my voice. So I'm just being a wise guy busting your chops😂.

I honestly cant even think of any vegetarian sandwiches other than peanutbutter and jelly lol.
I know one, BLT. Just switch bacon for beans. 😂 I don't like it.
That’s probably because you’re not a vegetarian. There’s definitely hundreds of them.
Just a plain tomato sandwich with some home grown tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste, and spread a little Miracle Whip on the bread. Delicious!
I mean does a veggie burger count? I do like those depending on what they are made out of, but I cant imagine people are making veggie patties at home for a quick sandwich.
@@nullakjg767 you can buy frozen veggie patties at the grocery store and make a quick sandwich.
Vegan, vegetarian, carnivore -- doesn't matter; you can find anything to eat in the US.
O yeah! Thats what m talking about!

It is painfully obvious that you've never had a plain bagel in your life. They are not sweet. Period.

you are forgetting India being Hindu beef is forbidden. People that kill cows for food have been murdered by mobs in certain parts of India

Grilled Cheese with tomato bisque is something I think you would both enjoy.
I suppose I am a stereo type Texan, love me some beef, sliced or chopped, jalapeno/cheese sausages. Too bad you can't do that, no problem more for me.
