I just figured out the folders don't work lol. So if you get to the main menu and click the drop down next to scan, there will be an option called restore file structure. check that and deep scan and you should be good. Also, cool Bloodborne pfp lol
I enjoyed your video. Recuva works just as you described. Unfortunately, Recuva has a weakness that other recovery software like Photorec ( freeware ), Disk Drill, and RecoverIt does not have. It cannot scan unallocated space on an SD card. In my case, a 128 GB SD card became unreadable. I used Chkdsk to try to correct the problem but Chkdsk created a 30 GB FAT32 partition which Recuva identified. With all other recovery software, I was able to scan the entire 128 GB of the card but Recuva ( yes, tried deep scan and scan for non-deleted files under "actions", in the "options" menu ) would only scan the 30 GB FAT32 partition. I wish I had tried the recovery software before Chkdsk because the original partition might have allowed Recuva to work. A search on the Internet shows others are having the same issue.
Thanks man, I did same (took over 24hrs), recovered a bunch of files - Word, Excel, Pics, Vids - but they won't open. What can I do about it? These are really important files.

I had a RAW USB drive where the partition information was destroyed. I tried everything to recover the partition information and finally did a QUICK format using windows. Then I ran recuva and was able to recover my movie files. Recuva would not recognize a RAW drive. Don't fully format it. Just quick format and DO NOT WRITE to the drive. Recover the data asap to another drive.
It's possible. It depends if those sectors of the hard drive were overwritten with anything else. Give it a try, why not? Leave it running overnight and see what it finds.

Anyway those files did "recovered" but they have no data in them but those files are still taking spaces yet they do not open. Why is this happening and can i use your method to recover those files?? You should be able to still recover it. First thing I would do if possible is clone the entire hard drive to another hard drive (using DD will create an exact image): ruclips.net/video/uMggMfz9puo/видео.html Then you might have to quick format it so you're able to scan it using Recuva (make sure to use deep scan). So long as you clone the hard drive you'll always be able to use that image to try to recover it. If using Linux is too difficult for you, try AOMEI backupper or Acronis. Good luck hopefully you can get some data back!

don't recover it the same drive bro, it will rewrite the same files you deleted and the chances to recover is hard. 💔
